Angel's and Demons

Aurora drew a did breath and tried to focus on what Jamie has said. She was knew he loved her, but it was nice to know that he was ok with telling someone else. "there is always something to worry about" she mumbled to herself and right now she was still worried about her realtionship

(going to make diner)

"Yes there is always something to worry about, but the two of you will probably have it harder than most. Unfortunately despite our having taken Nanoki in when we did he still had problems because he was Japanese, and you both may be criticized for your love because you are an angel. Ethan and I had problems too, but we did not let them stop us. There will always be things to worry about, yet you have to not worry about them because they will all work out in time. Now rest and do not worry about anything, you are safe here and Nanoki is down the hall. So if you need anything all you have to do is ask." Jamie stated as she finished working, and applied the bandage to keep infection away.

Aurora knew even with Michael gone there may be other angels that appose them, she also knew that there could be demons too that would not agree with them being together. Aurora smiled at her "that for all your help, but if you could can you send Nanoki in please" She really wanted to talk to him to see how he was, to see if they were going to be ok.

With a gentle smile, and a shake of her head she replied "Allow me to talk to him first. From what I saw when I came in, and from what I heard I may be able to bring him back. All I ask is for a few minutes, and then I will send him back to you if you will allow it." Jamie could see this woman was worried, but she was also worried about him doing something that he would not normally do.

Aurora bit her lip a moment, she didn't know this woman very well and she hoped whatever she had to say would not push Nanoki further way from her, or make him hate her for what she did with Michael. But she didn't know that would do any of those things all she had was blind trust she hoped it would hurt her later. So with a reluctant shake of her head Aurora agreed to let Jamie talk to him first.

With a formal bow she softly said "Domo Arigatou." Then she left leaving the door cracked intentionally, and a few moments later her voice filtered in through the crack in the door "Nanoki-kun daijoubu? Dou shita no?"(Nanoki are you alright? What's wrong?) Her voice was filled with worry, and something akin to regret. The last time they only barely managed to bring him back, but this time she was alive so that would help. Jamie's voice became softer, and she relayed that Aurora was still alive "Kanojo wa mada ikite iru Nanoki-kun."

His voice was slightly harsh, and even though they cared for him Nanoki could not forgive himself yet. "No okaa-san. Watashi wa bakada. Nanoki hozon dekimasendeshita kanojo. It's just like last time. No matter how different a person I am, and no matter how hard I try there's nothing I can do. This is because of me..." he said but before he could continue she smacked him as hard as she could.

"Baka, this is not just like last time. Last time you barely managed to get back here, and when I went to find... There was nothing I could do. This time you saved her, and she is going to live because of you. Forget the past you stupid child, and focus on the present. You have a woman in there that is hurt, and worried about you so be the man you were before this latest run in with that homicidal angel." she said, and with a quick hug she pushed him into the room with Aurora and closed the door.

Aurora couldn't help but over hearing what the woman was saying to Nanoki, Here forehead wrinkled she didn't speak Japanese so she was not sure what they were saying at first. But then when they spoke English, she understood something like this had happen before and Nanoki didn't fair so well. She wasn't sure what happen then suddenly he was in the room with her. She smiled at him "hello" she said softly

Slowly he raked a hand through his hair, and he shook his head wondering how she could be so pushy after all these years. "Okaa-san..." he said softly, but as he heard Aurora's voice he realized why Jamie had done as she had. Turning he moved to her side with a tender smile saying "Daijoubu? Ehh... Sorry. Are you alright?" He made a mental note to thank Jamie again, for everything she had done even now.

Aurora smiled at him, "A little banged up but nothing a little rest couldn't cure." She tried to sound postive with lying to him, she didn't want to say she was alright when he knew she wasn't. she reached out and took his hand in hers. "How about you?" She asked softly, she hoped he would tell her the truth.

He chuckled softly, and shook his head which brought his bangs into his eyes. Brushing them out of the way he smiled, but did not really feel all that cheerful or happy. "Well with Okaa-san watching over you, I'm sure you'll be fine soon enough." he replied lightly, and softly kissed the back of her hand. With a slight shake of his head he answered "I'm not doing all that great, but I'll get over it and everything will be fine."

Aurora bit her lip when he said he wasn't doing all that great. She hated hearing that from him. She at first tried to sit up to be able to talk to him a bit better but quickly found that she was unable too. "Nanoki my love please tell me whats wrong, sometimes just talking about it can make a difference."

"It's nothing major. It's just that all of this brought up things that should have been left in the past, and it's hard to see all of it happening again. On top of that not being able to do anything this time just like the last times." he replied with a slight shrug, and gently pressed her back down onto the mat. With a slight smile and a chuckle Nanoki added "Don't move, or you'll aggravate your wound again. Trust me I've been there, and done that too many times to count."

Aurora sighed a little she hoped he would open to her but it appeared he didn't want to so she was not going to press the issue. "I am sorry I didnt let you help with Michael...its just i was so afraid of loosing you...or of you killing him" She felt like she had explained this a hundred time but still it would not make him feel better. She could care less about her wound all she wanted was for him to be ok, for him to happy.

Another shrug moved his shoulders, but he leaned down and kissed her lightly. "There's no reason to be sorry you did what you thought was right, but hopefully now he will not bother us any more so more incidents like this won't happen. Because they way he saw it this would not end until one of us was dead, yet now he has no powers so there won't be any more problems from him." he replied grinning down at her, and he lightly placed his hand on her cheek. "We'll be fine, but right now you need your rest so you can heal properly. It seems like forever since I've been here, but it's only been a hundred years or so." Nanoki said staring blankly into space as he recalled that day.

"I was in the US doing some consulting work for a company based here, and while I was there I met a good number of people. One such person was the liaison for the American company I was consulting with, and I guess her grandparents had moved from Japan to the US some time ago. I don't remember the details any more, but after I finished working for the company we stayed close..." he relayed, and he sighed remembering those days.

Aurora hoped he was right. she kissed him back lightly enjoying the kiss a moment. She savored his touch so much now, something could of have happen and they might be here right now. But she was and swore from this moment on she would cherish every moment with him. "we can stay around a while if you like, maybe get a place near by to Jamie if you want too"

"Well if you really want to get technical where we live now is only six blocks from here, but with everything being so hectic I don't have much of a chance to get down here." he replied with a slight grin. "However it didn't last too long with Aki and I, because Michael came in doing the same thing he did here. That was when we got into the fight, and nearly killed each other but I couldn't save her that time. So that's why I'm not doing all too well, but that's in the past now so I just have to move on." he added softly with a slight sigh.

Aurora was a little shocked to hear he was close but yet kept so much distance from the people he cared about. Then he mentioned a name she had heard him say a few times. "Nanoki, if you don't mind me asking who was Aki?" She bit her lip don't sure he would answer that question since he seemed to care about Aki.

"Aki was the liaison I worked with while I was over in America working for the company here, and she was also the person I couldn't save the last time I fought with Michael. We had started a relationship about a hundred years ago, but then came your brother and ripped her away from me." Nanoki replied looking down at her with a soft smile, and unshed tears glimmering in his eyes as he thought about it.

(Supper time)

Aurora drew a deep breath when she realized that he had cared about Nanoki Aki. She couldn't help but wondering if Michael hadn't killed her would Nanoki be here right now. She knew she should think like that but she couldn't help it. she had to change the subject "umm...do you think since we are so close we can go back to your place..."

(bed time for me lol)

He thought once again what would have happened if Aki had lived, but he realized that since she had been human there would have been no way for them to be together now. Quickly he pushed those thoughts from his mind, since there was only one person he wanted to be with. Nanoki kissed her once more, and kept his lips against her for a few moments. "Unfortunately not. We have to wait until you are cleared to move, and since it's only been a few hours I already know the answer, I'm sorry love.

Aurora kissed him back softly, she was tired but she wanted to spend as much time with him as possible after what had happen today. she was so in love with him. "Maybe tomorrow morning than?" She said cutely with a little smile on her lips.

"I'll ask, but I can't make any guarantees. When it comes to patients she can be rather strict, yet if you don't rest it's gunna take longer for you to heal." he replied gently, and made himself comfortable then added "Don't worry I'll be here when you wake up."

"well then i hope tomorrow she can let me go back to your place. I am just so excited to get on with our lives." she kissed him again. Their biggest threat was gone now they could worry about their lives together.

It seemed that things might get back to some form of semi-normality for him, but he knew there would be no real way to tell for now. As long as he did not have to worry about looking over his shoulder, Nanoki would feel that everything could return to being peaceful as he returned Aurora's kiss. Finally after a short time, and being constantly nagged about not visiting them Jamie allowed them to leave. However it was only on the condition that Nanoki come and visit more often, and he wear the Hakama that was given him by Jamie's grandfather. After growling something about not having enough time he lead Aurora out onto the street, and slowly headed toward the place he was staying.

Aurora rested a bit, but was happy to hear they can leave. It wasn't that she didn't like Jamie, but she wanted a chance to really be with Nanoki with no worries. As she walked out the door she leaned against him. "You know i am going to make sure you see Jamie more often, she really does love you"
