The Dragons Tribute (LunarWolf and FluffyPuppy77)

We hunt the coven… but follow that witches power and ask WHY before slaughter. We don’t need a repeat of Harvest.” The gold beast sat upon her seat, the rest of the council in their perches. The black was a rather trusted partner; patting her own tail again theirs. “Send some soldiers down in the morning; find out where Kal found her and search for unusual cases. Also… he will hate this. Post a watch on North and the Bride. If North leaves, stop him, get him food if he needs it. He’s den bound for a week per rules. Don’t squish the red and gold. She is much too small, bulk her meals up with growth hormones. She must be strong And big enough to survive this mating. We are running out of chances.” The elder was in charge for a reason, she had a level head when it came to her nation. Yes there were other dragons mixed in, but their home region style of body was dying out; being replace by the visiting types. They needed Vance and his bloodline to keep a chick pure… and just because she looked like a dragon… she was hoping her internal structure was still a humans genes.

Oh, Vance hadn’t actually expected her to lay on his back. Figuring she was still a human after what the elder said, why share a ‘bed’ with a complete beast of a stranger.
He how ever, as before was not moved by the next suns arrival, a 4 days fill of that bull… he was getting close though to needing something.

The black nodded his head "as you wish elder" he then got up and headed out to talk with the soldiers fist to post a guard as ordered and second to form the team that would help them hunt the witches down. while he didn't agree with finding out why he knew the elder was wise and that finding out would help them in the ling run. as he worried about the male dragons being enthralled he had a large amount of female soldiers come with him to hunt the witches to avoid that issue

Oh, Zole. Be careful.” The gold perked her head out of the council room and to the gate waiting dragons. “All of you, stay safe.”

There was nothing new to the great beasts mind as he rose to a stand the next morning. Forward stretch, back arch and back feet; wing rotation.
Wait.
Now something came to mind as a rolling feel went down his tail. Ah shit the human hatchling! He had no time to stop her but quick thinking curled his tail tight to scar as the stop pit at the bottom
Codfish, sorry Eve.

Eve squeaked and then nipped him in retaliation for dumping her down his back and tail. Eve then yawned and walked around to look at him and wait to find out what they were doing that day.

The black took the soldiers to where Eve had been found and they spread out looking for where she had found the witch that had given her the ability to shift.

Hey… I didn’t feel you… you are very light…. I’m not used to guests…” he apologized, he had tried to catch her, she didn’t need to attempt to bite him…
“Look we can try more flight later if you want? I am hungry though. So I was going to go get something. Want to come with? Watch a hunt?” He didn’t know about the guard, and his lair was not filled with entertainment. If one could fly, dive practice in to the pit… well she could test her climbing…

Eve nodded her head and then looked at the wall that lead out of the pit. She then looked at him as she didn’t think she could get up there on her own. Eve walked to the wall and tried to figure out how to get up it.

Well here was a good start then. While Vance was tall enough to just pull himself out, she was mini. He would show her though. “Climb practice then. No wings unless for balance.
Claws near her stretched open, surrounding her tiny frame in a wall of sharp.
Pull your claws out all the way. Make a fist like movement but dont actually finish the fist.” He mimed the action again, he had ages of practice but it’s what it always felt right to call that action. After a second, he lifted that practice hand and slapped it against the pit wall. “Do it again, more, to dig your claws in to the stone. And then make sure your next palm is higher on the rocks.” His slap had trickled a bit of stone down like rain and his dig in loosed a heavier chunk. To him, pebbles, to her, big rock fall.

Eve bobbed her head and then carefully did as instructed. Eve dug her claws as best as she could and slowly climbed to the top. Eve slid a bit in places as she could get her claws to dig in but with a little extra effort she was able to get up. Eve scrambled to the floor once she was at the top and then carefully peeked down back in to the pit

The big dragon had kept a claw under the chick, just incase she swayed too hard and fell off the rocks.
As her tail slipped over the edge in her victory of the wall, his rising claw clamped hard on the rock face and followed it up with his other, climbing over the pit wall with one step. “Good job, until you can do it faster I think it’s a wise morning routine, stretch yourself out.” He praised the red and gold chick. One step over her and he was passing his columns again, bent head low at one of them to take in some amount amount of water that collected there and moved to his entrance way.
Where his maw was met with a shorter soldier in full armored scales.
You didn’t announce yourself… why are you here?

the soldier looked at him and then spoke "per orders of the elder you are not permitted to leave your den for the next week" Eve walked up and squeaked seeing the other dragon. upon hearing their words she back up and cower as she was still small enough to get hurt if he became upset and lost control of his temper. as Eve didn't know him all that well she didn't know if he would freak out or not

The larger beast laughed a second before a blink had him with teeth in the soldiers neck armor, flipping him to the side and leaning full weight on his armored self. “Unless elder wants to come watch me herself; one puny guard will not stop me.” He growled to the soldiers ear.
To my back, Eve. We shall go anyway.” Tone shift was fast. Angered no longer but he remained on the fallen beasts side. “Your magic holds no candle to mine, soldier. You tell her that. We will go hunting.

Eve scurried to him and did her best to keep up with him as she didn't know if he wanted her on his back or just to walk with him. Eve looked at the solider and then followed him so that they could go hunting. Eve worried that they would get in to trouble but she also knew that she needed to learn how to do these things on her own as well. In order to keep up with his stride Eve would have to do small running hops with the occasional use of her wings to make up the distance

All the way, hatchling.” His tail scooped behind her, throwing her to the air- practice on a moving target. She had such tiny claws, she wouldn’t hurt him.
So, I smelled your venison last night. Still a human enough to prefer cooked food. Well then, let’s get you some wild turkey. Small enough as a good practice, learn claws.. and teeth. Or if you have a breath. I don’t know how far that witches spell took it.
A boulder had blocked some of his pathing up here… well, boulder for him, whole cliff face for her.
Moving his cheeks about before spitting downwards, it sizzled and sunk through the land beneath it…. Enough power to sink the mountain face to a sizable bump in the road when it shifted and filled the cracks.

Eve squealed when she was tossed and then landed she dug her claws in to his back to keep from falling off. while sleeping there had been one thing riding on his back while he was moving was another. Eve liked the sound of turkey to eat but she wondered if that would be enough for him or if they would have to hunt more as well to make sure he was well fed. Eve looked at the cliff face as he melted it away and was awed by how it had just vanished

So, Elder was forbidding me to go after god tributes, it’s such a sad waste of meat. So we can hit the forests.” A shimmer of magic across his scales and he seemed to be a large foggy cloud bank as he jumped off the edge of the cloud lands mountain chain.
Practice your glide. Wings flat, use only your wing claws to redirect air above or below your wing.” He mimed it as curling his claws made him rise a pinch with out a single flap of the wing. Flattening it, flattened his whole body to keep stable and a dive was just a head tilt down. All the while she was clinging to his back. “Stay above me, you’ll have a platform to land and jump from.
He was a very broad dragon.

Eve did as instructed and it felt weird to be in the air like she was but she did as told and kept her wings straight and only used the claws on her wings when she needed too. Eve was able to stay over him and after a bit she landed and then took off once more getting the feel and hang of landing and taking off when she needed too. Eve wished speaking was easier and didn't hurt so much so that she could thank him

As the fog bank disguised dragon decended with the chick, he stayed clear of all the farm lands below him. Though the cows seemed like a massive meal choice- they would try to hunt them.
"Alright, slide down, stay still though at the bottom." he announced to the girl on his back. He was flying over the trees now, the forest loud in the bright day., "I'll land and come get you, but I need a clear place."

Eve nodded and then went to land on her own so that they could hunt. Eve didn't know if she would be following him and then hiding or if she would just land and wait for him to find her. Eve decided to follow him until they were near a clearing and then she landed in the forest so that she couldn't be seen. Eve watched as he landed but she didn't go and join him instead she stayed hidden from site

Now, I swear I said to stay still when you landed….” He rolled his eyes; too late to stop her. The meadow had tall grass here and without having meant to, squished a hiding fawn as its parent bleated and bounded away.
Oops….” He lifted his claws at the soft and warm feel beneath, sorry little soul; scraping off with teeth as a snack. “Not intentional, dear mother.” He called after the does form.
It’s one way for a snack, we are here for turkeys though. You probably spooked any that might have been nearby with you following me so come here.” He pounded the flattening grass with his tail. “We are going to have to wait until the deer calm down and the birds settle.

Eve bounded over to him and then settled in to wait. Eve felt bad for the baby deer but there was little she could do about what had happened. Eve stared up at him as they waited for everything to calm dow so that they could hunt.

"So, it seems you might be having a hard time talking verbally." a gentle tail tip tapped her throat scales. "Then let's try fully mental. Start with thinking of a word. A simple word, deer for instance... Then with out opening your mouth, try to just send that to me by just looking at me." Vance lowered his head before closing his mouth. ~If things need to be stealthy, a lot of soldiers including I and the Elder use this if we need to keep were abouts private. If this hurts your head and gives you a head ache, please, hold your head... I can't have you in pain, it doesn't help communicate.~

Eve bobbed her head lightly before trying to send a simply sorry to him. This didn’t cause her head to hurt but it was hard for her to do. Eve shuffled closer before trying again this time asking him why he was helping her. Eve knew he didn’t like her so she was confused as to why he was giving her any help at all.

A blink..... He didnt hear anything from her,,,, though he could tell she was adamantly trying and straining her brain to send the message...
"Mmmmm, not getting anything on your end..." a claw shuffled so it supported her leaning body. She was trying so hard....enough so to be stretching closer. "Maybe because you aren't a true dragon it won't work?" a full claw set on the opposite hand tapped down as he thought to himself. He could share, but she couldn't...
"Should we get a doctor to look at you?" but his eyes flickered away from the smaller beast towards the tree line. A wolf. Probably caught the poor fawns scent. A nice pelt to add to his collection.
~Want to go after something a bit tougher than a turkey for a breakfast hunt?~ mentally only to her. Sure he was speaking seconds ago, but as still as they were and him as a fog bank, they were hidden from view.

Eve turned and looked where he was looking and then nodded her head as she wanted to try hunting. Eve was glad for her small size and she carefully stalked towards the wolf. Eve made sure that she stayed low in the grass so that the wolf didn't see her. Eve had some knowledge of hunting from her father who liked to hunt for sport so she knew keeping down wind would help her get to the wolf.

~Whistling is not talking. Go to the other side and whistle for its attentions. Sneak around for a hind attack. Sink claws in first before your teeth, if it were to jump away after a bite, it might take some teeth with it and be able to slash your nose.~ Vance remained as he was. Moving to scrape his palm free of dawn blood again, he was just a brush of wind to the wolf’s fur.
