Barbara felt the ding of Duella's message to her and she glanced down at her phone, eyebrows rising in surprise at the picture Duella sent. She'd add it to the contact later, though not right now. Barbara increased her speed when she saw Chloe had gained a lead on her. She was a bit surprised how quickly Chloe was moving but she had longer legs than Chloe and had also been in track, she had little doubt she could catch her. She kicked off her heels while she followed her, carrying them in her free hand as she moved after her friend.
Barbara's heart leapt into her throat when she saw Chloe's turn at the stairs and her fall began. Barbara increased her speed, glad she'd kicked off her heels, though she knew she'd be too late. She practically flew down the hall and skidded on her stockinged feet at the base of the stairs, her eyes widening when she heard the man's voice. She stared at the man, recognizing him from her research but unlike what many girls would do in her position, she wasn't just swooning at a handsome rich man.
Her eyes traced over his form, not to take in how sexy he was or something. No, she was noting the muscles hidden under his clothing. Lastly they went to his lips. Not to imagine kissing them, but comparing them to the lips and chin of Batman, who she'd seen just the night before. And with her eidetic memory, she could perfectly picture them. She imagined them overlayed over Bruce Wayne's features and smirked as she realized that her earlier wild conjecture may not have been as crazy as she thought. She suddenly realized she'd simply been staring and smirking for several seconds. "Thank you Mister Wayne, for saving my friend." she said in a surprisingly calm voice.
