Yukimura was grateful, picking his head up and straightening himself out. This would allow them one step closer to bringing Matsunaga to justice.

"How are your eyes...?" Akihime reached to hold Mitsunari's face tenderly, pulling him closer to examine him, "Is it worse...?"
"Some days," Mitsunari replied, letting her look him over, "but other days I can see well enough." Akihime hummed softly.
"Have you been taking those eye drops like you're supposed to?"
"They don't help my compensation, Akihime." Mitsunari gave a sort of indignant pout and she smiled as she pulled her hands away.
"They would if you used them everyday like you're supposed to." She teased. Mitsunari only huffed and she giggled.
"Yukimura, please don't say anything to anyone about his compensation." Akihime said as she looked back at him, "He's mostly blind and can't see things very good."
"The last thing I need is my authority as one of the Four Families disputed, as well as leader of the Guild." Mitsunari said, "Take this knowledge to your grave; as one Twilight to another.."

Yukimura tried not to stare when Akihime grabbed Mitsunari’s face, putting hers so close to his- he felt a pang of jealousy. He shook his head firmly when they spoke to him. “I would never dare do such a thing, even had you not asked me not to.” He said.

Mitsunari bowed his head, unable to see the flicker of jealousy that crossed Yukimura's features. Akihime didn't miss it, however.
"Thank you. I appreciate it." Mitsunari said before he stood, "Please, let me take you to the car."
"Oh, no, it's quite alright. You have things to do, and I would like a bit more time in Jin's presence. The small walk would do her good." Akihime said gently. Mitsunari hummed but nodded.
"Alright. Please get home safe."

Yukimura bowed one last time to Mitsunari before following Akihime out, finding Jin not to far from Mitsunari’s office.
“Done so soon?” She asked when she saw them, but looked rather glad to see them again.

Akihime smiled softly, "Yeah, nothing too fancy this time around. Besides," Akihime moved and linked arms with Jin, the blonde a bit taller thanks to her bloodline, "I missed you. You work way too hard around here, Jin."

Jin gave Akihime’s arm a gentle squeeze, smiling warmly at her. “There’s plenty of work always to be done here, it can’t be helped. Ishida is no slave-driver, but if left to himself he’ll try to take on everything alone.”

She smiled, nodding in agreement. "He really would, huh?" She took one final look around the Colony and nearly froze, eyes widening at the sight of a woman standing not far away. She wore the guild fatigues, her brown hair pulled into an over shoulder braid and she smiled with such familiarity that it made Akihime's chest hurt.
"M..." She blinked and the woman was gone, and Akihime felt hollow.
"Lady Otani??" One of the Tags looked concerned; she had stopped so dead that she nearly jerked Jin off her feet. Akihime looked around and frowned.
"Sorry, sorry! I thought I saw something! I'm ok!"

Jin looked down at her puzzled, brows furrowed. “Saw something?” She echoed softly.
Yukimura looked concerned as well, nearly running right into Akihime when she stopped, having been following close behind the two. “Are you ok, Akihime?” He asked.

"I..." She stopped; the stress of Matsunaga must have been getting to her, "I'm fine..."
"You look like you've seen a ghost." A Tag frowned. Akihime looked down, expression sad.
"Let's just get to the car, I have business to attend after this.."

Yukimura nodded and Jin continued to lead her out to the front where her car waited.
“Please drive safely, Otani-sama.” Jin said, bowing to her once they arrived. “And you as well, Sanada-dono.”
“You as well, Jin-dono.” Yukimura said with a bow.

Yukimura took his spot beside Akihime in the car, giving Jin one last nod out the window.
“Of course, Otani-sama, I will.” She nodded, smiling warmly at her.

When Claudia drove off, Akihime sunk in her seat, looking down at her hands. Almost like she didn't think they were real.
"I don't think I've been sleeping well..." She muttered, voice shaking.

Yukimura moved to put a hand on her back, frowning softly. “Rest when we return home, I can handle things from here.”

Yukimura nodded, a concerned expression plastered all over his face. “I won’t let anyone interrupt you, rest assured.”

Amaya received a call the very next day, Mitsunari himself calling her back to the colony. She was a bit surprised, but figured it had to do with her latest job.
Regardless, she still showed up, a little anxious to be home for the first time in months.

"Amaya-chan." Sakon smiled as he moved to greet her, "Thank you so much for coming. The General is waiting for you in his office, if you'll judt follow me."

Amaya made a noise and nodded, following Sakon through the familiar halls, waving to those who she knew. Her face was still bruised, but it was becoming faded now, her arm and shoulder wrapped up from being shot.

When they reached the office, Sakon knocked gently.
"Come in." Mitsunari called and Sakon opened the door for Amaya. Mitsunari looked over, the familiar splotch of Amaya's hair filling him with a sort of melancholy.
"Thank you for coming, Amaya.."

Amaya gave a nod, moving into the room with a small nod of thanks to Sakon, taking a seat just across from Mitsunari. “Of course, this place was my home for a long time.” She said softly. Mitsunari himself had been the one to personally train Amaya, having joined the colony when she arrived as an orphan almost fifteen years ago.

Amaya nodded. “Sarutobi’s company has been treating me well; if anyone’s got a problem with Tags, they aren’t vocal about it.” She said. “Pays good too.”
