Westbrook OOC

go to the fratority house after classes

I was thinking that if Su-Ji indeed does have a room at the Fratority that she isn't using maybe she is considering moving in there to avoid shocking her mum. Then again they probably wouldn't allow Nef to live with her.

Then we'll just have them go to the fratority house after classes

Someone could perhaps mention to them at some point that there's a cop snooping around looking for them.

that James' powers can add like super-powered encryption to Edith's accounts so the government won't ever be able to trace it back to them. Or basically be able to thwart any other digital fuckery on their or anyone else's part.

Maybe. Let's bring it up on the first official meeting of this "team" which I feel is approaching fast.

I will edit Edith's post then. (Done).

First, Ginger is the head sister, so if she says Nef is in, Nef's in. She probably can't be head of the team, but she is head of the house.

Su-Ji does have a room, as a member. Only members of the fratority have a bedroom.

Which means, those with poor grades will be out for those who have powers. Which will be Erin's say. She'll let Ginger keep her position of head sister, though.

Which, by the way, our IG mayor will want to keep closed because he doesn't want any "super" skipping town.
Hopping on a bus or a train and leaving town is also an option. Or just stealing a car. Or getting a friend to drive them out of the city and to a neighboring city. Or a taxi.

Or just grabbing a suitcase and heading out. What are they gonna do, close off all the streets and put the police there to intimidate people into staying?

@MsBloom has caught wind of my plan! Nice catch!

When Erin announces her intent to Ginger, Su-Ji and hopefully Marko, it'll be just them. Although, Ginger is going to say Marko is cool with keeping secrets, neither she or Erin will know Marko is one of them until after Erin drops her bombshell... In front of Edith and Scoops (and those three). She'll also basically take charge of the team (like I said, she's basically Oracle, or Commissioner Gordon).

The heroes are basically going to be "duly deputized" ala Batman '66 TV show. Without the campiness. I mean we can have comedy, situations and gags, but let's try not to go campy. I like things the way they are, especially with Blair and Schro. Also the triangle is a nice touch, but on that, please more Archie dramedy along the comics and not Riverdale. It was too teen angst and not the characters I grew up with.

Other than that? Keep doing what you're all doing! I'm heading off to call my mom long distance. I probably won't be back until almost Saturday morning early. Laters!

@Inkybus As Scoops is going to point out in my next post after everyone else replies: The mayor didn't think this all the way through (but he's still the non-meta baddie) Erin is also going to have a remark about the gag order and what her own Captain thinks of it.

Hold on, has a governmental organization actually cordoned off the city? Because I feel very strongly that this is the kind of news that would spread like wildfire in the city that has been cut off from the outside world. In Prototype, New York Manhattan got quarantined and it was very obvious on account of anyone trying to leave getting a quick lead-injection, courtesy of the military. It was easier in the case of Manhattan because of the bridges one would have to get across to get to the mainland and things...

I hadn't thought of that, but I think I read about Manhattan. No, but it's a political ploy, and I'm expecting that backlash, from heroes, villains and civilians alike, and maybe a split between good cops (like Erin, the Captain and others) and the crooked (like the commissioner and any in his pocket, and he himself is in the mayor's)

That's good. Marko would not have gone to class if Westbrook was cut off: he'd have gotten started on re-fitting his futuristic multitool and made advanced power tools to craft a hover-bike that reaches mach 5 to get out of the area and set up elsewhere. He'd have suspected that someone was trying to grab supers from Westbrook and decided that making a quick escape and starting over from scratch somewhere else was an acceptable option.

That hover bike might have to be fully enclosed, if the rider isn't wearing power armor or some sort of protective gear against the high wind resistance (not as bad as Windy but still nothing to sneeze at). Either way, sounds like someone might need to convince him to stay.

That's what the forcefield power armor is for.

Since Westbrook doesn't have the police, military or anyone else physically restraining people or outright killing them to stop them from leaving, Marko does not have a reason to jump ship yet.

The plan is it's all bluster, and if anyone would recognize it as political it would be Amaya, Rebecca and Olivia. Scoops and Erin will too when the "positioning" gets so far, yet nothing else happens but the gag order (which Erin, spoiler, is going to call unconstitutional).

It doesn't matter, as many members of the opposite are siding with him on the gag order and bluster. As Rebecca said IG, Both are guilty.

Once Marko goes out in his vigilant persona to bust some drug dens, you better believe people are gonna put videos of his opaque forcefields bashing criminals on social media.~

you better believe people are gonna put videos

Something tells me this is exactly why Erin has invited our intrepid reporters to join the first meeting of this new group of supers, to handle public relations and make sure their actions are reported to the general population, not only in Westbrook but all over the world.

But does Marko care what the easily-manipulated and riled-up mob thinks of him? If he doesn't, what use does he have for PR?
