SAINTS (1x1 w/DarkMukip)

Back at the safe house, Yukimura had just finished doing another food run, returning with more flesh for their stores. This time went off without a hitch, no interruptions from Doves.

"Dana," Sasuke moved over with some papers in his hand, a sheepish smile tugging the corners of his mouth, "so, I know you said not to, but I looked into that Akihime girl anyway."

“Akihime?” Yukimura echoed, looking at the papers before perking up. “You mean that Dove who stumbled upon me the other day?”

He nodded, "Otani Akihime. Did some recon and computer research on her, more or less to evaluate how much of a threat she is." He laughed softly, "Gomen."

“I told you to leave it!” Yukimura half scolded, but glanced at the files, admittedly a bit curious. “… What did you find?”

Sasuke grinned before handing the file over to him, "So far, just basic stuff. Younger sibling to the CCG poster boy, high marks in the academy, she's no better than a toothless dog really."

Yukimura skimmed through each page, reading brief snippets before moving to the next one. “I’d hardly call a dove a toothless dog.” He pointed out, stopping when he got to the photos. “Was there anything of significance you found that stood out?”

"Uh, actually," he moved around and skimmed for a moment before stopping on a page that looked like cliff notes, "these are notes from her academy teachers. She excelled in every aspect, right? There's something here, where is it," he ran his finger down the page before tapping on a paragraph, "says right here that her fighting ability is severely lacking. On every practice run and controlled hunt, she was shown a gross desire to "show mercy". Every ghoul she was sent after, she's tried to spare."

Yukimura made a noise as he took the paper and read it over, then again. “A ghoul sympathizer? I don’t think I’ve ever heard of a Dove that sympathizes with ghouls.” He said. “Why get into the job if you don’t plan on killing ghouls?”

Sasuke grinned, "Her older brother, the poster boy." He replied, "I've heard from stalking coworkers that her brother isn't super fond of her. She's just a puppy following him around."

“Ah, so a family business kinda thing, huh?” He said, flipping through the papers one more time. “Maybe I’ll keep an eye on her.. Its probably nothing, but you never know.”

“No, no, I’ll take care of it. You’ve got other jobs to do, this one should be easy for me.” Yukimura carefully folding up the paper and putting in his jacket pocket.

“Thanks, I’m counting on you.” Yukimura said, running his fingers through his messy hair. “I’ll be around for a few more hours before I’m heading out again.”

Sasuke gave a thumbs up before he headed out to start his own work. It was interesting to learn of a sympathizer inside the CCG. Perhaps at some point, it would be good to have someone on the inside.

Yukimura would have to scout her out, having a Dove join them was a long shot, but he was admittedly curious to find out why exactly she showed such pity to ghouls.

Akihime was sent out to patrol on her own, as instructed by Mitsunari. She was not to engage any ghouls, just take note of the number of them in th Ward. She sighed, wondering if her brother would ever see her as a real investigator.

It was a little odd seeing a dove out by themselves, they usually travelled l in pairs, while only the most experienced traveled alone- but she was new, so why was she out on her own? He followed her for a while, both ok rooftop and on the ground. She never met up with anyone, just patrolled alone, he couldn’t make any sense of it.

Was she really such an awful burden to her brother than he would send her off to die? Alone and afraid? What kind of animals did they employ at the CCG?

Surely he would warm up to Akihime sooner or later, he was probably just throwing a fit that he was assigned to his younger sister.

She sighed, and it continued on like this for days; Mitsunari would drop Akihime off at the Ward in some random area and told her to take note of the ghoul activity before he left her to do his own tasks.

Yukimura took pity on Akihime strangely enough, it was like watching someone abandon a puppy on the street. Still he kept his distance, only watches and never approached.

Megohime had started that day with Kojurou, but as it progressed, he would split off from her temporarily, get her used to working alone.

Akihime tried not to make it obvious she was a Dove on her patrols, Mitsunari wouldn't let her have her briefcase, which was beyond dangerous. But she at least had her gun, so it would buy her time to escape should she need to.

It was odd for an investigator to split from their partner, but Kojurou was not far from her should he need her. He more wanted her to practice on her own, and the time of day was ideal - Masamune was more than likely asleep around this time so there would be only smaller ghouls.
