SAINTS (1x1 w/DarkMukip)

His heart began to hammer in his chest and his leg jerked to kick out at the man despite being bound. Were he to have enough cognitive function, he'd be glad it was him in this situation and not Yukimura.

The man was quick, catching Sasuke by the ankle with one hand, and slicing deep into the back of his leg with the scalpel, severing the tendons in the back of his leg. “Let’s not get hasty now~” He said with a wicked grin. “There’s plenty of time we’ll get to spend together still~” He used the scalpel to cut the tendons in his ankle as well, ensuring his leg was rendered lame.

His crippled leg was only temporary, all of his physical wounds were, but none would heal until he had the suppressants out of his system and had consumed flesh.
Back upstairs Laurent had returned to Akihime, jointing her back in the garden where he had left her. “Your friend apologies for having to leave so soon, but he sends his kind regards.” He said taking a seat across from her.

His breathing was labored, choking back noises of pain as he could only endure the torture.
Akihime gave a sad smile, "I hope he and Yukimura will be ok without me..."

“He assured me that everyone is doing well.” Though he disliked speaking of Akihime’s previous fling, if it meant keeping her compliant he would.

She gave a slow nod, her eyes sad, "I'm glad..." In the back of her mind, she was heartbroken Yukimura had just tossed her aside like he had. He and Sasuke had been hurting her for so long, and Laurent was the only peace she seemed to have. It was so bizarre; Yukimura had loved her, didn't he? He saved her from Tsukiyama, so then why torture her? Tears fell down her cheeks and she wiped them away quickly as to not worry Laurent, muttering a soft apology.

Laurent reached across the table, cupping her cheek gently. “Do not cry, I promise no more harm will come to you.” He couldn’t be more pleased with the results of using hallucinogenics on her- to have seen the two people he had the most issue with hurting her, driving her further into his arms was by far the best outcome.

“There is no need to apologize, those men were taking advantage of you.” He said gently. “I’m only glad I intervened in time before they hurt you anymore.”

He wiped her tears away with his thumb, offering a gentle smile. “Why don’t you go rest, you must be tired from such an event.”

Laurent watched her as she left, a soft smirk on his face as he crossed his legs and sat back in his chair to enjoy the garden.

Mitsunari stood in front of Yoshitsugu's office, his back crawling with anxiety as he fought the hammering of his heart. He collected himself as best as he could before knocking.
"Come in." Yoshitsugu called, and Mitsunari stepped in quietly.
"You wished to see me, Gyoubu?" He asked. Yoshitsugu looked up at his son and gave a soft smile.
"Mitsunari, my boy. Thank you for answering my summons," he said, before gesturing to the chair across his desk, "please, have a seat." Mitsunari nodded and moved to sit down, trying to keep his usual neutral expression.
"It has come to my attention that dear Akihime hasn't been in the office lately." Yoshitsugu began. Mitsunari fought the nervous flinch, keeping eye contact as best as he could.
"Yes, she's recently fallen ill and I've been doing my best to cover for her." He replied. Yoshitsugu's expression was still rather jovial, his smile never wavering.
"Don't lie to me, Mitsunari. You're terrible at it." He said. Again, Mitsunari fought the nervous flinch.
"I would never-"
"Isn't it rather odd that after the attack you suffered, my daughter goes missing?" Yoshitsugu asked calmly. Mitsunari's eyes widened slightly and he struggled to come up with a reply.
"Just be made aware, Mitsunari, that if Akihime is not found and returned soon, your career here as well as any claim to the family name will be nulled." Yoshitsugu told him. Mitsunari tried not to panic.
"G-Gyoubu, I swear, I-!"
"Get out of my sight," Yoshitsugu said dangerously, "And the next time I see you, Akihime better be close by. Understand?"
"O-Of course, Gyoubu." Mitsunari replied, standing to bow before leaving quickly, shame making his stomach tie tight into knots.

Masamune sat in his lounge, looking over the various reports his men had brought him regarding Akihime. She had been missing for almost a month now, and his men had searched every lead they could find. He even went to bother Tsukiyama personally. And finally, they found something good. That blond prick that tried to buy Megohime - Lauren or whatever - was the one keeping Akihime locked up like some bird. He puffed on his smoke, looking over all the pictures Yoshinao had brought him of Laurent walking with Akihime on his arm.
"He sure as shit won't like this." He muttered before pulling out his phone and dialing the one he gave Yukimura.

Mitsunari’s attention was brought to his phone in his coat pocket, buzzing again and again as he received a phone call. It was Ren, calling with more information on Akihime and her whereabouts.

The phone only rang once before Yukimura picked it up, sounding rather worn thin, but still polite. “Date-dono, do you have any news on Akihime?”

Mitsunari picked it up immediately, "Ren...have you heard anything new...?"

"Yeah, actually. Why don't you come on down, this is best in person than over the phone." Masamune replied.

“I’ve narrowed down her location and know where she is- Mitsunari, I want to go there for myself and see what’s on the inside, I might be able to give you an advantage if you aren’t going in blind.” Ren said over the phone.

Yukimura nodded immediately. “Of course, I’ll be there as soon as I can.” He paused briefly before asking what was really weighing him down. “Is she.. still alive?” Since Sasuke had gone missing as well he was a wreck, but he was managing to hold things together for the others.

"Absolutely not." Mitsunari hissed quietly as he walked down the hall, "We have no idea what kind of ghoul Laurent is."

"And kicking." He replied, "Get down here soon, yeah?" He hung up after that and took a long drag of his smoke, sitting for a moment before going to check on Megohime.

“I’m not planning on meeting the guy, just to get a general layout of the house- I’m not biting off more than I can chew here, I can do this.” Ren said, pacing his own house as he talked.

Yukimura felt instant relief to hear Akihime was still alive, but he still had anxiety. Sasuke had gone missing several days ago and hadn’t contacted him at all. Had something come up? He had to try and focus on saving Akihime first, Sasuke could handle his own after all.

Megohime had become more or less a shut in, still recovering from her injuries, but she couldn’t even be alone with the house doctor. She was constantly on edge when she was awake, avoiding his men like the plague if she even left the room at all. Sometimes she couldn’t eat either, she would just get stuck in bed staring at the door for hours like she was expecting someone to come through it.

"I can't run in there to get you should you get in trouble.." Mitsunari told him gently.

Masamune moved into the room slowly and stepped inside, shutting the door behind him. "How ya feelin, Megohime?"

“I know, that’s why I’ll be careful. I’ve done something similar, I won’t get caught.” Ren did his best to assure Mitsunar, feeling some anxiety himself about the whole thing.

Megohime looked up as Masamune came in, blankets around her shoulders and wearing the clothes he provided for her. She was still wearing the same turtleneck jacket she had picked from the clothes he had offered her initially, finding comfort in hiding her neck wound. “I’m fine.” She said softly, but he could see the dark circles starting to form under her eyes. She hadn’t expressed any desire to leave or try and contact anyone outside of him, not even Kojurou.

“I will- I’ll contact you as soon as I’m out.” He said. “We’ll get her back, Mitsunari.”

Megohime never flinched away from Masamune now, in fact he was the only one who could touch her without her having a panic attack. “Maybe in a bit.” She said softly. “Is something wrong, you’ve been smoking more than usual.” She pointed out.

"Thank you, Ren..." He muttered, "for everything..."

"Ah, just some business has been weighing on me, I'll be alright." He said, flashing her a smile, "More worried about you, honestly."
