Ren set out right away, turning his phone on silent before making his way to the mansion he had pinpointed to be the one Akihime was being held in. Like he had expected, the property was largely secluded, no other buildings for miles- it wouldn’t be a problem though, as he was only there to scout ahead.
There were the expected ghoul servants milling about, cleaning or handling other tasks, but Ren kept out of sight of them. It was only when Ren spotted a human did he perk up. It was a young slender man, about the same height as himself, with long black hair and sharp features. He seemed like he wasn’t all there, but it was probably because he too was one of Laurent’s pets. Ren felt bad about what he was about to do, but knew it would simply be easier to move around if he had his appearance. Quickly rounding the corner, he moved silently behind him and wrapped his Kagune around his neck, tightening it until he felt it snap and the man went limp. Ren moved to a more secluded area; the storehouse in the garden, carefully removing the clothes from the man and putting them on himself.
All he would need to be able to change his appearance with a bite or two of his flesh- and he’d be lying if he said he didn’t want to. It had been quite some time since he had had any real flesh, only blood. He decided to only take one bite from the mans upper arm, doing his best to not think about how badly he wanted more, but one was all he needed to change. He didn’t know what made him be able to change his form, only that he had found out relatively young that he was able to change how he looked and even sounded, so long as he had seen who he was changing into. Now taking the form of Laurent’s pet and wearing his clothes, he was able to walk about freely, and it wasn’t long before he caught a familiar scent- Sasuke. A chill ran down his spine, but what was he doing there of all places? He could tell he was injured from the smell of his blood, and part of him wanted to ignore him and finish out what he was doing for Mitsunari, but something made him follow the scent of blood down to the basement.
He heard no one down there, only smelled the heavy scent of Sasuke and blood just beyond a closed door, hesitating only for a moment longer before opening the door and peering inside.
Megohime felt like it was wrong to feel normal, wrong for her to enjoy Masamune still joking with her, but she laughed lightly anyway. “You don’t like me sounding like a smoker?”
