SAINTS (1x1 w/DarkMukip)

“I’ll do what I can to keep her alive, make sure she can still talk too.” The old man said, cleaning up her ankles before stitching them up and wrapping them in gauze.

The doctor could see just how angry Masamune was, peering at him over his glasses. “I’ll give you some time alone, there are a few supplies I need to gather anyway.” He said, pulling off his gloves and tossing them in the trash.

Megohime still had blood all over her, the doctor only cleaning blood away from the spots he needed to to tend to her wounds. Her clothes were ruined, soaked heavily in her blood. She was so pale now, chest rising and falling slowly.
Whoever had attacked her either used a Kagune or a quinque, Masamune knowing the wounds those weapons left well.

Megohime was out for several days, the doctor keeping her asleep for an entire day before waiting for her to wake on her own.

Masamune didn't really leave her side, and the boys thought it was pretty weird. What was their hitto doing fretting over a Dove so much? They dared to enter the side room to ask about it, and were all immediately met with his angry kagune and poised bikaku.
"Hitto...we were just curious..." Bunshichi started carefully, "that Dove.."
"What about her." Masamune demanded lowly.
"Why are you doing so much to keep her alive?" Magobei asked, "She's a Dove..."
"She could get us all killed." Samanosuke said. Veins crawled under Masamune's eyes the angrier he got.
"Can't a man have an indentured servant from time to time? She owes me her life, she'll do anything I say, when I say it." He hissed, "I bought her from Tsukiyama, she's my property."

Him buying her from another ghoul seemed to placate a good handful of the men waiting for an answer. It wasn’t uncommon for ghouls to keep humans as pets, it was just uncommon for that pet to also be a Dove. Regardless, the answer did satisfy most of them, the men standing outside the room murmuring amongst themselves quietly, but not raising anymore concerns.
Megohime hadn’t woken yet, despite no longer being sedated, like her body was still too worn out to be conscious yet. The doctor had looked her over though and had told Masamune that she was recovering nicely, her complexion even returning to normal after the blood transfusions.

Megohime as his pet, she sure wouldn’t be happy to hear about something like that- but at least she was still alive. Masamune noticed that Megohime’s eyes were open, looking around with tired eyes before her gaze fell on Masamune.

“Where am I..?” Her voice was rather hoarse, and it was like she could barely get it out, but she could still speak. She vividly remembered what happened to her- her colleagues attacking her, leaving her to die, and Masamune finding her, but she couldn’t remember anything after him finding her. Her wounds throbbed with each heartbeat, the pain in her throat the worst.

"Don't talk so much, or at least try not to. Doc says your vocals got kinda fucked in the attack." He told her, "But don't worry, I'll have everything taken care of."

“Where am I?” She repeated, tears swelling up in her eyes, sounding scared and angry. She didn’t try to get up yet, still not feeling well enough to move around, but she couldn’t remember what had happened after Masamune showed up on that empty lot.

Megohime seemed to relax a bit when he explained where she was, but her tears still fell down her face. “Oh..” She was at a loss for words- how could she not be? She had told Akihiko and Saburo she would be cutting off their physical relationship and in turn they attempted to kill her.

“I told them no more, told them I wasn’t going to continue the relationship anymore..” She only continued to shed tears, voice shaky. “They seemed fine about it at first- then they asked to have me go somewhere with them.” She wiped away her tears with the sleeve of the yukata she had been changed into so her blood soaked clothes could be cleaned. “I didn’t think he would try to kill me.”

“Investigators Inoue Akihiko and Tanaka Saburo.” Megohime’s voice shook as she told Masamune the names. “The two men I’ve been sleeping with.”

Want anything? She wanted her life to return to a somewhat semblance of normalcy. She shook her head, movement stiff from her tender wound. “No.” She said softly.

Megohime nodded, a pang of anxiety making her want to ask him to stay, but she knew he had other things to take care of.
