SAINTS (1x1 w/DarkMukip)

Kojurou stopped dead in his tracks, eyes wide in horror. His body felt like lead, ice pumping hsrd through his veins.
"J...Jin...?"

Matsunaga turned to her, his usual smirk on his face, "Thank you for a answering my summons. I have a very important task for you."

Jin’s eyes shot up to his face, expression twisting into a scowl as she met his gaze. She looked exactly like Jin, even the way she expressed emotion was the same- a circular scar on her forehead and a single kakugan being the only difference in her appearance. The wound closed up, only leaving behind traces of blood, and in an instant she closed the gap between them, kicking Kojurou hard in the chest sending him flying.

“Of course.” She nodded. “What do you need of me?”

He grunted hard and hissed when he hit the ground, glad thst his coat ate a lot of the landing but his back would be shredded still. "Wh-What happened to you...?" He hissed out, tone laced with pain.

He opened his desk and reached inside, setting down a pair of rather thick sheers. "Your hair," he remarked, "it isn't to standard."

The glow of her Kagune shone in Kojurou’s face, Jin pointing the tip of the blade at Kojurou’s throat, looming over him.

Amaya glanced to the scissors on the desk before looking back to Matsunaga, feeling a pang of sadness. “Would you have me cut it?”

He lay frozen, staring at the kagune before looking up at her, "Jin...you must hate me for what happened...but know that I'm sorry...I never wanted to lose you..."

"I would." He replied, expression serious, "Or, I could do it for you."

Her expression was complicated, both anger and shame twisting her face, but she didn’t try to pierce him, she couldn’t. Jin tried to stab Kojurou, tried to push her blade through his neck, but her body wouldn’t let her move- she couldn’t hurt him. He could see her hesitation, could see her hand shaking with effort before she quickly pulled her kagune away and fled.

Amaya swallowed her feelings on the matter, knowing she had no choice in the matter. “Thank you, captain.” She said, bowing her head slightly to him.

"Wait!" He sat up quickly, only to hiss in pain and fall back down, "Wait..."

"Oh, good." He grabbed the sheers and mobed over, "Your braid will have to come out."

Amaya nodded, reaching for her braid and unwrapping it from around her head before undoing the braid itself. Her hair was long, almost to her lower back, and beautifully maintained.

Amaya kept her eyes on the ground, standing in place as he grabbed her hair. “It’s only hair.” She said softly, like she was more trying to convince herself.

"I agree. Only hair." He said. But he knew it meant more to her than that. It was last thing tying her to her old life; the life with Sasuke, the life with Yukimura and Akihime. The life with joy and peace. He took a section of hair and cut it slowly, wanting it to be at least somewhat straight.

Amaya stood frozen where she was, not moving an inch as he cut her hair, a blank look on her face as she listened to the scissors cut through her hair.

Her heart hurt, it felt like it was being stepped on, but she refused to cry over it. It was just hair after all. Soon her head felt light, most of her hair on the floor at her feet.

Amaya didn’t agree, she found the entire thing upsetting, but her emotions served no purpose to Matsunaga, so she stuffed them down. “Is that all, Captain?”

Amaya nodded, moving to the closet in his office that held his cleaning supplies. Even after all this time she remembered where everything was- the dust pan and hand broom stored beside the set of wooden switches he used for punishments. She swept up her hair from the floor quickly, wanting to be out of his office before he thought of anything else he needed from her, throwing her hair in the trash.

Amaya felt his gaze the entire time, like he was trying to pierce through her body with his eyes- she did her best to ignore it, pretend she didn’t notice. After leaving his office she felt a small sense of relief, touching the ends of her hair with a soft noise.

Amaya shook the thoughts from her head, heading down the hallway back to her room.
Once night fell she slipped out of her room and left the facility, using the darkness of night to head off into the city. She looked high and low throughout the places Sasuke frequented when not with Yukimura, but found him in none of his usual spots. She was almost sure she wouldn’t find him at all until she arrived at the last place she could look for him. It was one of the vacant homes he occasionally would still squat in- the owners of the home away on travel or something.
He was just inside, Amaya watching him as he went about his business- he looked a little rough, like he wasn’t sleeping well. Her heart ached when she saw him, and for a moment she almost convinced herself to leave, but soon found herself making her way carefully closer to the home.

He had dark circles under his eyes, his once shimmering brown eyes now dull and lifeless. He was looking over some papers, his copper hair pulled into a loose ponytail to keep out of the way. He must not have noticed her yet, but Sasuke was always so keenly aware of his surroundings.

Amaya watched him with tears burning at her eyes, tempted to just walk through the door to see him, but knew he probably wouldn’t react well to that in his current state. She wiped at her eyes before moving closer to the door and tapping lightly at it to get his attention.

Sasuke stopped, knowing in the back of his head that no one would know he was here besides Yukimura. He checked his phone - no texts - who was it? He moved to the door carefully and listened, eyes flicking as he tried to process the sounds and smells.
