SAINTS (1x1 w/DarkMukip)

It hurt his wounds to be moved, but Ren was just glad to find some comfort in his bed. “I’m sorry you have to do all of this for me.”

“If anything you’re an excellent caretaker- your bedside manner is a little lacking though.” He joked.

Ren laughed weakly. “I didn’t expect you to, you aren’t a doctor, Mitsunari..” He said shaking his head.

“Mitsunari,” Ren looked tired, face solemn. “This isn’t the sort of thing you get involved with- it’s done with, there’s nothing else to be done.”

At the hospital, Megohime had her wounds tended to, receiving stitches on the back of her head and her throat. She didn’t need many though, and nothing was broken- she was only a bit battered.

He hunched a bit in his spot, eyes a bit sad as he laced his fingers loosely together, "Yeah..." He agreed quietly.

Kojurou stayed, for both her and Akihime, wanting to make sure they were both alright. He would tell Mitsunari the hospital report when he saw him at work, but for now, he needed a moment to himself. He stepped outside and took a short walk, taking in the night air and letting everything sink in.

As always, the moment he stepped foot outside he felt eyes on him, someone watching him. Whoever it was kept themselves well hidden, never once being seen.

He scowled softly, wondering if it was Masamune or the mysterious ghoul that had been stalking him recently. Regardless, he kept his guard up as he walked, wishing for peace.

The ghoul had never approached him first, only ever showing themselves when Kojurou was in danger. Whoever it was though remained hidden, leaving Kojurou to his walk.

The only sounds around Kojurou were that from the city, only the sudden presence behind him alerting to him that someone was there. The ghoul had shown themselves as he had ordered, standing silently as they watched him, the glass eyes on their mask glinting in the low light of the night.

Jin stood there in silence, watching Kojurou closely, studying how he looked as he spoke, overcome with a feeling of familiarity once again. She had gone over the files Mitsuhide had given her regarding who she had been before she had been killed, and she had read about Kojurou hundreds of times- who he was, what relation he had to her, and even if personal history. Still she remembered nothing of him- plagued only with the feeling he was important to her.

“No.” She answered. “If I wanted your head, I would’ve taken it already.” Was it because they were partners for years before? Was that why no matter what she couldn’t get him off her mind.

Jin didn’t respond to his order this time, watching him silently as he continued on with his walk, following after him when he started to get too far away.

He grew annoyed rather quickly at the faint sound of her footsteps, and he turned his head to glare, "Do you take issue with me, ghoul? Waiting for an opening to strike?"

“No.” She didn’t know why, but Kojurou giving her such a hateful look made her heart hurt- maybe they were rather close as partners before her death?
“You have a new partner.” Jin’s heart felt heavy, another strange feeling she didn’t understand why she felt- of course he did, why wouldn’t he? Even so, she felt a mix of sadness and relief.
