SAINTS (1x1 w/DarkMukip)

“Yeah, I won’t.” She nodded, turning away from the privacy screen. What kind of friend was she? It was laughable that he even mistook their relationship for that seeing how she couldn’t even get Akihime out alive- only her own sorry skin.
After a bit longer of scrubbing off the blood and dirt, she turned the water off, moving to dry herself off before changing into the clothes Masamune had left for her.

Once she had changed, she heard a commotion outside, like people arguing. Someone was raising their voice while the other remained calm, and Megohime could only assume the yelling was Masamune.
"You got some fucking nerve coming into my home, uninvited, making stupid demands at me like that. One girl wasn't enough for you to munch on, you gotta take mine, too?!" Masamune snapped, "I should rip out your fucking kakuhou!"

The young man before Masamune looked like he was about to drop dead on his feet, but he still managed to stay calm in the face of Masamune’s wrath. “Date-dono, please, I’m not here to harm your… erm, woman.” He was a little confused as to why Masamune was referring to her like that, but it wasn’t important. He had promised Akihime to get Megohime back unharmed.
“The woman you took home from Tsukiyama-dono’s is a close associate of Otani’s- who is a member of my group- no harm has come to her nor will any come to Tamura-dono.”
Megohime listened to the conversation while holding her breath- so Akihime wasn’t dead? The ghoul who had crashed Shuu’s party was actually rescuing Akihime?
Megohime opened the door leading into the room Masamune and Yukimura were in, dressed in a fresh yukata and slippers, hair still damp from her shower. “Akihime is alive then?” She asked, heart pounding in her chest.

Masamune turned to her and moved over, looking concerned, "Megohime, stay back, ok? I'm not gonna let him take you." He turned back to Yukimura with a scowl.
"Get the fuck out of my home."

“I cannot.” Yukimura didn’t budge an inch, looking to Megohime when she spoke up. “How do I know you didn’t kill Akihime, and you’re just lying?” She asked, waving Masamune away.
“I can call her from my phone and let you speak to here, she’s having her wounds treated back at my home.”
Megohime debated her options before nodding. “I want to speak with her.” She said and Yukimura obliged, pulling his phone out of his pocket and dialing Sasuke’s number.

"Moshi moshi? Everything ok, dana?" Sasuke answered right away, the phone only ringing once. Masamune watched with cautious eyes, keeping close to Megohime.

“Everything’s fine, I just need you to put Akihime on the phone, I have her friend her and she wants to confirm she’s alive.” He said, pulling his phone away from his ear and putting it on speaker so Megohime could hear.

"Hai, one sec, she's being a little fussy about these bandages." He replied and there was ruffling, Sasuke’s muffled voice demanding someone settle down. There was more ruffling before silence.
"Megohime?" Akihime's voice called, "Are you safe? You aren't hurt, are you? I asked..." She paused, and both Masamune and Yukimura heard her give a soft scared noise - Sasuke must have glared or something - "I asked aibou to find you and get you away from the Gourmet, make sure you were safe..."
"Aibou, huh?" Masamune teased softly.

Megohime visibly relaxed, taking a small step forward so her voice could reach the phone better. “I’m fine, I’m safe- just a little scraped up.” She could’ve collapsed to the floor there, relief stinging her eyes. “What about you, are you safe where you are?”

"Ah," she sounded nervous, "as safe as one could be with someone who hates them."
"Damare." Sasuke huffed, "You're just lucky dana likes you."
"I am safe, though. I promise. My friend here- ow!"
"Stop. Fussing." Sasuke hissed, "We aren't friends.." He added quietly.
"Aibou's friend is taking care of the last of my scrapes. We're going to have fun conversations with our partners tomorrow, huh?" Akihime laughed softly, a soft dread lining her voice; Mitsunari must really scare her.

“Yeah, I’m sure Katakura will scold me for days.” She laughed.
“Please let me take you back to Akihime so you can return together.” Yukimura said again.
Megohime nodded, looking to Masamune. “I have to go back with Akihime, things will be less complicated that way.”

"L...Leave? No, absolutely not. I can keep a better eye on you with you here." Masamune hissed.
"Don't be an idiot, Date, you'll fuck everyone over if you keep her overnight." Sasuke said, "Akihime, if you flinch away one more time."
"It hurts, I'm sorry!" Akihime whined.

Yukimura quickly took the phone off of speaker, hoping Sasuke’s words wouldn’t upset Masamune anymore than he already was.
“Masamune, I have to go home, you know I can’t just stay here.” Megohime reasoned with him, speaking surprisingly gently.

“No, Masamune.” She said more firmly this time.
“Please let her leave with me, Date-dono.” Yukimura asked again, staying where he was.

Masamune looked angrily between the two, obviously really upset with the idea. He looked back at Megohime and saw she was serious and he slouched in defeat.
"But, Megohime..." He muttered.

“I’m going home.” Megohime said, reaching and touching his cheek gently before moving over to Yukimura.
Yukimura ended the call and bowed to Masamune. “I’ll make sure she arrives home safely, Date-dono.”

"Yeah...she better..." He muttered, "Otherwise, I'm paying your girl a visit.." The look he gave Yukimura was dark and menacing, a cold and very real threat.

Yukimura scowled at the threat, clenching his fists to keep himself in check.
“Masamune!” Megohime snapped at him, an angry scowl on her face.
“Goodnight, Date-dono.” He said stiffly, bowing his head a bit before looking to Megohime and motioning her toward the door, the two leaving together.

"Night." Masamune replied dully, watching them as they left his property. He snapped his fingers and Yoshinao appeared beside him.
"Hai, hitto?" He asked. Masamune didn't move, his eyes on where Yukimura and Megohime left.
"Get me everything you can on Otani Akihime." He ordered, "Down to the minute detail."
"Hai, hitto." Yoshinao nodded and hurried off, leaving Masamune by himself.
When Yukimura returned with Megohime, Akihime moved to hug her, overjoyed to see her safe. It made Megohime wildly uncomfortable, but Akihime just couldn't help herself.
"I was so scared when we didn't take you with us. I'm so glad he got you back safely." She said gently.

As uncomfortable as Megohime was with such intimate touch, she allowed it, not pushing Akihime away. “I’m just glad we’re both alive.” She said, glancing nervously at Yukimura and Sasuke- they had met up away from the base, Yukimura not willing to compromise the location of their home.

Sasuke looked menacing, opting to wear his mask for the interaction. He wasn't going to risk anything, friend of a friend or not.
"Me too." Akihime smiled brightly as she moved away from Megohime, "What a story, hm?"
"You'll have to report it, won't you? The abduction?" Sasuke asked. Akihime turned to him and frowned before turning back, glancing at Yukimura briefly.
"Yeah, I guess so..." She muttered.

“Are you delusional?” Megohime glared lightly. “Why would we not report something like this?”
“It’s fine, Sasuke, we’ll just have to roll with the punches- we’ll figure something out.” Yukimura said, trying to keep things civil.

Sasuke’s kakugan flared, already on edge and Megohime's attitude wasn't helping.
"We can go to the hospital...!" Akihime said, "Say we were ambushed and barely managed to escape...!"
