SAINTS (1x1 w/DarkMukip)

She bowed her head once more before stepping into her room so she could presumably be closed in for the night. “I’ll make sure I dress appropriately.”

Akihime hadn’t heard from Yukimura for over a week now, all calls and texts being ignored. Even Sasuke wasn’t responding to any messages, his phone going straight to voicemail.

She became worried, hoping everything was ok. She had tried to go to the safe house, but each time, Mitsunari would show up to walk her home instead. She didn't know what to do and it was making her sick.

He had even stopped showing up; he wasn’t at her home, or his usual haunts, nor was he out following her- he had completely and entirely vanished.

She sat nervously outside their cafe, hoping vainly that Yukimura would show up, but deep down knew he wouldn't. She didn't know what had happened or why he had vanished. Maybe he stopped loving her...? After such an emotional reunion...? It hurt more than him disappearing did.
"Good afternoon." Akihime looked up at the voice and her eyes widened gently.
"M...Matsunaga-sousakan..." She muttered before bowing her head, "H-How can I help you?"
"Waiting for someone?" He asked. She frowned softly.
"Ah, yes, just a friend.." She replied gently. He made a noise as he sat across from her.
"It wouldn't happen to be Sanada Yukimura, would it?" He asked. Her blood ran cold and she looked up at him.
"I don't know who that is..." She replied. He smirked gently and showed her a picture of her and Yukimura together, and her face flushed in shame.
"What would Mitsunari think if he found out his sister was entangled with a ghoul?" He asked. Akihime clenched her fists gently.
"What do you want...?" She asked weakly.
"I want you to work under me, in my division. In exchange, I'll let you see him."
"See...?" She looked terrified, "You...you know where he is...?"
"Of course. He's with me." Matsunaga replied, "All you have to do is say yes."
"Please...please take me to him...I'll do anything..." Akihime pleaded.

Matsunaga was quite well known and respected amongst those in the CCG; a cruel unforgiving man that was the head of a covert-ops division. It was a small team that only the upper ranks really knew anything about, one that handled infiltration and more unsavory doings. How had Yukimura come to be with such a man- certainly it wasn’t willingly, but they had always been so careful as to not draw attention from the CCG, so had he slipped up or was it no coincidence that Matsunaga was here now in front of her?

Akihime frowned but nodded, "Please...I want to see him..." She said weakly. He smiled sinisterly and stood."
"Please, follow me." He told her and began to walk away. She stood and followed nervously.

Back waiting in Matsunaga’s lab, Yukimura lay still strapped to the metal table in agonizing pain. Yukimura didn’t know where he was or what was happening to him, only that he was in pain. He couldn’t see or move, but he could feel that his stomach was split and being held open by a medical tool. Several tubes and IV’s were hooked up to him; a tube to keep a high flow of oxygen going to his nose, several IV’s in both arms and a tube going directly to his stomach to feed him human blood to ensure his regeneration kept up. His partially formed Kakuja dug into his flesh, having already been harvested once and his tails having been harvested several times.

He didn't know how long he had been laying there, but it felt like a lifetime. A familiar scent filled his nose, light and flowery - Akihime? What was she doing here? Had Matsunaga taken her to torture her as well?

Yukimura attempted to move, to pull against his restraints to sit up, but the tendons in his arms and legs had been severed to keep him still. He let out a noise, but his attempt to turn his head was futile as well, a heavy leather strap over his forehead.

"Yukimura!!" Tender hands moved over his face, stroking his cheeks slowly, "G-God, what have they done to you...?!"
"I would be careful, he might bite." Matsunaga's voice warned.

Yukimura recoiled from Akihime’s initial touch, but seemed to actually relax somewhat after a moment. The partly crumbled Kakuja armor was blinding him though, the barbs that sprouted from the base of his neck wrapping around the crown of his head and curling into his eyes. He made another weak noise, but made no such attempt to snap at Akihime’s hands like he had been doing previously to the lab assistants. This was a new discovery in his behavior that had devolved so quickly. He seemed to be rather passive as Akihime handled him, not trying to struggle or bite in the slightest.

"Interesting." Matsunaga muttered as he watched. Akihime sniffed as she fought her tears.
"Don't worry, I'll get you out of here soon, ok...? Just wait a bit longer so I can figure it out...I won't let them hurt you anymore..." She told Yukimura softly.

Yukimura looked like he was actually hearing Akihime’s words, laying deathly still on the table facing the ceiling. His mouth opened, and for a moment it looked as if he’d speak, but he didn’t. A pained groan was all that escaped his lips, like words were beyond him.

The room was so filled with the scent of blood that it was almost choking- just how much of it was Yukimura’s? Regardless, Akihime seemed to be in little to no danger from Yukimura in that moment, of which she seemed to be the only one.

Matsunaga took a step closer and reached for her, grabbing her arm to pull her away.
"N-No, just a little longer...!" She pleaded.
"You have papers to sign, Otani-sousakan." Matsunaga told her firmly.

Yukimura grew violent the moment Matsunaga stepped closer, and despite the tendons in his limbs being severed, he thrashed hard. A horrible guttural snarl escaped him and he bared his teeth at the man, the armor creeping further over his body. If most of his kakuhous hadn’t recently been harvested, he would have been able to deploy his Kagune as well.

Matsunaga watched with a bored expression but slightly intrigued eyes. Akihime panicked and reached to touch Yukimura to let him know she was etill close.
"It's ok, Yukimura, it's ok! I'm ok, please! Please calm down, you'll hurt yourself more!"

Once more, almost as if Akihime had full control over him, he stopped, slowly resting back against the cold hard table. The growth of his armor stopped as well, cracks slowly forming over the new growth, but nothing fell away.

"Th-There we go...there we go, see...? I'm ok...I'll be right back...I won't be far..." She soothed, her thumb running gently and carefully under his eye.

Yukimura let out a low wheeze, like the thrashing had been painful or more than he could physically handle. Regardless he calmed again at her words, an odd sight to see for someone who had previously been so unruly he had to be maimed to be controlled.

Matsunaga made a soft noise and guided her out of the room, her eyes never leaving Yukimura until she couldn't see him.
"What have you done to him...?"
"He's being harvested for armor and quinque." He told her. Her eyes widened in horror as her feet began to lag.
"H...Harves..." She could barely finish the word, "Wh...Why...?"
"A kakuja like him is very rare. He's the perfect specimen." He replied. Akihime felt sick.
"Y-You're vile..."
"Amd you will be his keeper until he is no longer needed." Matsunaga opened the door to his office and stepped inside, "Otherwise, your career, as well as your life, is over."

A keeper, what did that even mean? Would they be using Yukimura himself as a weapon? And Sasuke, and the rest of the family? If Yukimura had been captured, had the rest of the family also been taken- is that why Sasuke also didn’t answer her calls or messages?
