How To Deliver Justice (with KiraMusani

The rest of the physicals went smoothly, including through the guards of which Mrs. Handler had been included in that class, since she was Clair s mom and a mother figure to the others in court.

Calla Grovershire came out of the room and said, "Clair, the doctor will see you now."

"Oh, umm, okay my turn" she said putting her notebook away as she entered the room.
"Hey Doctor Aurora, how are you feeling? Must be pretty tiring examining everyone."

Aurora just smiled as she had Clair have a seat on the chair. Putting the heart checker to Clair's chest and ear pieces in her own ears, Aurora commented. "After the scare with Princess Calla, and the gas certain people were having during dinner last night... What choice would I have? Breathe normally for me." She gave a throaty hum, "Up on the bed for me, lay back. I'm going to feel around your abdomen, and groin." She tapped one spot, while listening. "Interesting. Bernice, Ruby, Sapphire and you have had similar abdominal reactions to the tapping. I haven't gotten to your partner with the winemaking yet, anything you can tell me that you would have in common?"

Everyone Aurora mentioned, including Millie, had eaten the gummiberries. Or at least one. Asking if they had any medical properties would actually help Aurora diagnose why Sapphire hadn't complained about her stomach later, and why Clair, Ruby, Millicent and Bernice weren't gaseous during dinner.

As Aurora checked Clair, on top of the abdominal reaction she had shared with the other girls she noticed, that her breathing was slightly more labored and her heart rate slightly faster.
"Hmm, well I know we all ate the gummiberries, or at least tried them, but I was told they were edible and not poisonous" She replied nervously, her heart rate speeding up at the thought.

In addition to the effect the berries had on her Clair may still have some recovering to do from being poisoned before, her body had yet to fully recover, or perhaps there was still some in her system preventing her from doing so. Or perhaps she had just not rested enough.

Aurora sighed. "Take a few deep breaths, I'm going to consult my books, and check with the doctor in charge of me. Y'know, my boss? My last letter did ask for him to come at his earliest convenience." She sighed. "The reason I asked, was Ruby and Bernice didn't have gas during dinner, and the abdomen didn't feel hard or bloated. When I tapped Sapphire's earlier, and yours now, I was getting similar reactions that are actually good. Too stiff would have meant you probably were full of gas, or were bloated some other way. There was also sounds I picked up from this device, which we still need a name for, that leads me to think it's actually more healthy. I want a few of these berries though, for analysis. I think whatever was in them, may help you fight off the lingering effects of the poison. I'm almost done with everyone's physical, there's just the Portavira noble, Ariel Mendes, who I want to see next, and then the Monterissan noble and your wine partner Millicent Umberto. You're excused for now, please tell Ariel I want to see her now. Thank you."

"Of course, if you think of an appropriate name please use it, I am not great with names, plus maybe you know some medical stuff that can help name it? Thank you I'll let Ariel know" She nodded once she was done and got up to leave.
"Oh, also did you want that enlarger device, I mean the other one, it actually sees a lot closer than others, I think it's exactly what we were thinking based on my experiments," She asked pulling it from her bag.

If she wanted it Clair would leave it otherwise she would place it back in her bag, either way, she would then leave and look to Ariel.
"Your next Ariel, umm, Millicent, we should send you in with some of the berries we are using as Aurora wants some to look at."

Aurora nodded. "That's perfect for the berry analyses I'll need to perform. Don't forget to bring a few. Preferably fresh off the bush, if you remember where you got them!" She took the device and set it on her desk.

As Ariel went in, Millicent rubbed the back of her head. "I think they're gone. Let's go to the bush and see if it has some. I've had that as a sauce, though Clair, I know I have. It's more Asian cuisine stuff now, I think. Either China or Nippon use it in their sauces." A sigh. "I'll let her know when I see her. Come. We'll check those bushes.

They would find a few ripe ones for Aurora's analysis and be back just in time for Ariel to come out and say, "Last but no least, you're wanted, Millie."

Millicent shrugged again and headed in.

Clair was now free to visit amongst the other ladies of the court.

(Choose whoever you want to talk to. After your post, it'll be lunch time and Neverland can be added back in)

Clair nodded and went with her returning just the same, once Millicent was in with the doctor Clair would approach Ruby.
"Hey, how did your checkup go?"

Ruby smiled and patted the spot next to her on the couch. "Went about as well as any thorough physical I've experienced with Dr. Arden, our royal physician, and a member of Mom's royal army." She shrugged as she looked at Clair. "What really bugged me though was she questioned what I ate different from everyone else. Something about not being hard in my stomach, or bloated, or having gas. I admitted to having one or two of those berries. I kinda liked the sweet and sour taste of them. I wouldn't mind eating more." Another sigh. "All she said was 'interesting' and dropped it. Why? Did she ask you the same thing? I mean considering they were part of your wine mixture, you and Millie."

At that moment, lunch was called, if anyone wanted sandwiches. If not, there was plenty of tea for everyone. Ruby, the princess, arose and asked, "Are you hungry? Want a sandwich? I'll bring you back something if you like."

Neverland Capitol about 2pm Aboard the Rumble Rose.

Nothing else had been said at breakfast, not even after the knife had been shown as the possible scalping instrument. Just a "I'll let you know."

"A few hours and here we are." MacGoughal muttered to Ethel. "We bluedy know it's Alexandria Moonstone. Ye mine remindin' me agin why we're waitin' fer 'er t' meet wi' 'er fer th' bluedy scalp, then? Jus' call Olivia and Hook an' be done wi' it. She's guilty as sin, she is."

Clair smiled and took the seat she had offered.
"Thanks, She did ask that, and I answered the same. She did explain to me that it's not a bad thing and that it might actually be good, like it might be helping with any poison in my system and that ours aren't bloated and full of gas where others were" She explained.

Clair stood up with her.
"Oh, we can just both go, uhh, together I mean" She offered.

-----------------------------------------------------

Ethel whispered back.
"I never said we had to wait now, I just said we needed to confirm who she was and her intent, which we have done, if you know where she is go for it, I'm not your boss" She shrugged.
"Though showing up for the scalp could be a final nail in the proverbial coffin as it were" She added.

Berkshire

Ruby's smile broadened, "Right then! Let's go to lunch together!" She looked at Clair expectantly, and then she held out her arm with her elbow bent, lower arm facing herself. "Hold your arm this, I'll show you how to escort a princess to meals." She just remembered Clair didn't know the courtly duties.

As soon as Clair would do so, she'd put her hands just below Clair's elbow, fingers daintily touching the arm. "This is how to escort anyone royal to a meal, whether it's Cassandra, Diana, Sapphire or me. Also, it's polite etiquette to pull out the chair for them, just don't push it in for them, It's insulting to Themiscyra and The Jewel Kingdom. Something about their Greek traditions I think. They're from warrior races" She took a deep breath. "Cordonia has no such traditions, you can push my chair in for me."
-----------------

MacGoughal shook her head. "Nae lassie, ye heard th' Cap'n. She wants nae t' do wi' it til capture time. Red handed, both Olivia and Wendy said. Olivia is acting security while Wendy is missing. We gotta do it this way. Ye know me, lass, I gotta gripe aboot somethin'."

Ethel would find a note addressed to her among barrels she was assigned to move, that had been brought aboard. It read: "Sundown. Back stairs. Care that no one sees you. Bring scalp and you'll get paid."

Clair stood up, listened, and nodded.
"Right okay" She pulled out her notebook and took notes on the steps before putting it away and performing them.
"Right, so I'll umm, guide? you there and pull out the chair then tuck it in, understood"

----------------------------

Ethel took the note before discreetly passing it off to MacGoughal, ensuring she was not seen doing so. Now all she had to do was show up and let the rest go as planned.

Ruby smiled and nodded, and allowed Clair to lead the way.

Cassandra had likewise led Sapphire to lunch, and Doctor Aurora offered her arm to Diana.

The doctor nodded, pulled the chair out for Diana, and likewise Cassandra for Sapphire. In both cases, the escorter left her princess to pull herself to the table, Sapphire giving Cassandra a cordial nod to excuse her. Would Clair remember Cordonia's etiquette, since both the other princesses didn't get pushed in?

Mr. Darling cleared his throat uneasily. "I know you ladies were to be heading to Scotland for a foxhunt, and then return here to Berkshire for the wine tasting in about a fortnight, however, due to Calla Dunwyn's emergency, everyone will be staying here. We don't know if the court game will be able to continue, as Scotland's weather starts to get a bit rawer. In order to continue the games unimpeded, we will have the embroidery, hosted by my wife, and if they make it in time the representative of the original host city of Manchester."

He nodded to Diana, "The Britannia Amazona representative will take the host duties for the Cornwall representative if Cornwall's host games of music is pushed back farther, because of Scotland's. I'll let her or younger sister Cassandra, explain it."

This must have already been okayed ahead of time, as after nodding to her older sister, Cassandra arose and cleared her throat. "Ladies, it might be a good idea to think about what your ballads will be about, now. This way you aren't in dire straits later. You are to write a poem about your favorite subject and either put it to music yourself, or come to Diana or myself for us to do it. If this happens to be pushed to this time, we will not be allotted points as we'll be doing music for those of you who need help. You also will be required to sing it. Playing it yourself will be optional." She took her seat.

Aurora, Sapphire, Millicent, and Clara Princeton were amongst the ladies looking worriedly around the table. The doctor herself, even asided to Clair. "Poem I can do. Writing music for it? I can't even sing! I'm tone deaf! I tried to sing once at the bar I worked at during a patio party, and the neighborhood dogs started howling."

The sandwiches and teas were doled about, two halves b(so a full sandwich) to each lady to start.
+-----------------------------++--

MacGoughal nodded, handed it to a runner she trusted with a hastily scrawled note, saying where and when, and the runner took off to the palace to deliver to Olivia and Hook.

Meanwhile, Wendy was beside herself as Olivia guarded her in her hiding place. Hook was nearby. "As security, I should be in on the apprehension. This is nuts. You of all people know I don't like waiting, or have someone else do my job for me."

Olivia just sighed heavily, pinched the bridge of her nose, and then looked at Captain Hook like a frustrated parent. "I've explained this three times. Once in your presence Captain. Maybe you'll have better luck getting it through her hard head why she can't be there. She has to stay in hiding until we catch the assailant."

Clair would pull the chair out for her, and push it in after, considering she was told she could for her, and wanted to do as much as she could, not thinking that the others may not see it as good as the others had not pushed the chairs in themselves.

Diana returned the nod, somewhat having been expecting this outcome with the recent news, and then looked to Cassandra as they arranged for her to speak.

Clair whispered back, equally nervous.
"Yeah, I no nothing about music, poems, or singing, pretty sure I am tone deaf as well"

Clair took her food and watched how the others ate before trying to mimic any mannerisms she may have caught on to.

-----------------------------------------------------

Hook took a deep breath and walked up to Wendy placing a hand on her shoulder.
"Wendy, you want to help and that's good, but remember, as far as the crew knows, you are gone, and as far as our target knows, you are dead, so you can't be seen moving about especially on your way to the meet up point"

Ethel meanwhile went about her day normally, as if this was just another day aboard the ship, then when the time came, would make herself casually toward the meeting spot after going and acting as if she was retrieving a secret item, just in case she was being watched.

With the court being in hiatus as far as games were, until the Manchester dignitary for the embroidery games got there, several ladies wanted to join Aurora on her one round, which was checking on Princess Calla AKA The Crimson Avenger, recovering from emergency appendectomy. Would Clair join to check on her friend?

Aurora cleared her throat as she looked at those who wished to come with her to visit the Dunwynian princess. "Ladies, keep in mind, Calla is still weak from the loss of blood as well as from having a major surgery. Keep your questions to a minimum, and whatever you do, don't let one of those questions be about her condition itself. If one of you wishes to ask how she's feeling, since I have to ask if she's doing well, it would save time, and I can move on to more medical questions regarding her recovery as a whole. Who has the pear puree in frozen juice Mrs Darling made for her if she is eager to try solid food?"

If Clair wishes to visit, Mrs Darling would give her the covered dish since Clair had a way to keep it insulated and cold. If not, one of the other girls would carry it, without the protective burlap.

(Up to you in visiting Calla with some of the other ladies)
-----------------------------

Wendy sighed just about as exasperated as Olivia had regarding Wendy's desire to do her own job, but finally nodded, went over to her cot, sat down, folded her arms across her chest, and sulked, after saying, "I want to know and get out of here, as soon as the assailant is apprehended, Olivia."

Olivia gave a nod. Technically, despite being younger than Olivia, Wendy had won the vote of most of the ship (including MacGoughal) to be head of security, being behind only MacGoughal and Hook in rank. "I can live with that, as long as you can live with MacGoughal razzing you about your lack of sailing skills. Or me razzing you about being the daughter of a shipbuilder when you're so military minded. You are a hellova swordswoman, but a lousy sailor. Hate to admit it, but you actually belong on the ship as security."

Olivia would glance to Hook before heading to the aft staircase on the Rumble Rose before sundown, so she and Hook could be in hiding under the stairs, Moonstone came down the stairs, just over their heads, to meet with Ethel to see the scalp, presumably Wendy's, not realizing she was stepping right into the trap. She had to engage Ethel in conversation before Hook and Olivia could come out from behind the stairs, swords drawn to arrest her.

Clair nodded indeed wanting to visit her friend, and was the one that was lucky enough to be given the puree for her if she had wanted it.

"I'll be sure not to ask questions, though honestly, I am not sure what to say at all," Clair admitted.

Once inside, if Calla wanted food Clair would offer it to her or even help her eat it if she needed it and wanted that, though would not bring it up herself and would leave that up to the Crimson Avenger herself or to Aurora.

-------------------------------------------

Ethel would wait for her to arrive, and then offer a friendly handshake, which she would use to quickly get her in a hold with both hands held behind her back, ready for the others to come in and take care of the rest.

While Aurora checked her suturing job, and Cassandra asked the doctor's question for her, Calla sighed, and repeated the question before answering. "How am I doing? No offense meant, as it's probably due to Amazon advances in medicine, Cass, but I'm doing stinky. Flat stinky. I know I've never been cut open before yesterday, but have all the poking, prodding and cold intrusion of that cold heart checking invention against my hurting side and chest really been necessary?!"

Aurora glanced to the princess's eyes. "You want to survive this and grow old, then yes. It was necessary. If I hadn't been here and diagnosed something wrong, or went by standard medicine, and not Cordonia and/or Amazon advances, you wouldn't even be here to bitch. The appendix ruptured as soon as I had it out. That's a fatal condition. At least now you have a chance to actually make it to 33¹."

Calla rolled her eyes, and then noticed Clair. "Hey, stranger!" She teased with a smile. "How are you enjoying your first court season? I'm sorry it's been so drama infused. You wouldn't happen to have something to eat with you?"

"You're only allowed puree right now, Princess Calla. I'm in charge of when you get meat. Right now, pureed fruits and vegetables are your meals." She nodded to Clair, and Calla wanted to feed herself, which the doctor also nodded, signalling it was okay for Calla to have the spoon.
---------------------------------

As soon as Ethel grabbed Moonstone, Olivia came out of her spot sword drawn, hoping her captain was right behind her. "You're under arrest for conspiracy for murder of Wendy Angela Moira Darling. I suggest you come quietly and keep your trap shut. I'm pretty sure the new queen, and your own chief are going to love getting their hands on you."

Moonstone tried to fight out of Ethel's grip, but found Olivia's sword at her throat. "Please give me an excuse. Wendy is a damned good swordswoman and a hellova security officer. She's also my friend. I'm itching for a reason."

1- 33 years is the life expectancy of the average person in medieval Europe

Clair waited till she was dressed and returned the smile.
"Heh, a bit more near-death experiences than I expected" she replied hoping it was taken as a joke as she handed over the food and spoon, getting Auroras to go ahead.

"Hey, I know this stuff sucks, but Aurora saved your life, she really did, mine too, honestly I think she should get ten thousand points for that. But you managed to pull through something that I can't imagine, but I don't think it's right to take it out on the person who saved us," she replied, her voice soft and sympathetic.

------------------------------------------------

Ethel had a firm grasp, even if the sword hadn't arrived the woman was trapped.

Hook was right there beside her.
"Tie her legs and arms and let's get her locked up, I'm disappointed in you moonstone, we're you going to come for me next?" she asked narrow eyes glaring at the woman.

Calla mock pouted. "I'm not saying I'm not grateful for this, it's just all the poking and prodding since." She took the pureed pears in juice, still pretty frozen., but thawed enough she could eat it, and pretty much wolfed it down (Olivia's bonded wolf would be so proud), before dropping the dish and spoon on the bed, making a face and grabbing her temples "Aaaaagghh! Owww! Pain!"

Aurora was right there, rubbing Calla's temples, and putting the cold surface of the device to Calla's temples and the ear pieces back in her ears. She gave a throaty hum. After pulling away and the ear pieces out she asked everyone there, "I know I do if I eat real cold stuff too fast, but does anyone else besides Calla here?" She glanced at the ladies present, and except for Cassandra (and Clair unless she does too) every hand went up, including her own. "Interesting. Doctor Arden, when he arrives, is going to like this. It verifies one of his theories about eating extremely cold things very fast. He doesn't have a name for it yet, especially since it doesn't seem to last that long, but Princess Calla, congratulations, you're actually helping farther medical science."

Calla actually was pouting now as she folded arms across her chest. "Yay me, let's throw me a party." She said sarcastically.

Aurora chuckled. "Glad you're feeling better. We'll give you time to rest, I'll check on you again later." She then looked at Clair, and whispered, "Can I talk to you privily in my room-slash-medical lab? I want to show you something interesting about those berries. I think I made a nutritional breakthrough."
--------------------------

Moonstone said nothing in answer to Hook as she was bound for transport, as Olivia let Ethel handle the shackles, "Begging your pardon, Captain, but shouldn't we be taking her to the palace dungeon? Wendy may be security aboard your ship, but Queen Innis mentioned she wanted to try the assassin since Wendy was technically in HER employ as her guard when the attack happened. And I'm sure Great Big Little Panther will want a piece of her, too. She just embarrassed her tribe."

Clair paused.
"I don't really get to eat cold foods all that often, as we have no way to keep them cold when it is not consistently cold outside. And then we want warm food" She replied not raising her hand.

Clair nodded and gave Calla a friendly wave as they all left, following Aurora out of the room, and once in private would look at her.
"Okay so I am excited about your discovery, what is it? oh, they aren't bad are they?" she asked worried about her wine as well now.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

"Yeah, but we need to put her somewhere before we get there, don't we? We shall arrange a transport for her soon" She replied.

Aurora grinned, "Bad? Far from it! If anything you might have discovered some form of superfood! You know how spinach seems to be more helpful for women's issues especially around menstrual times? Oranges, lemons and limes are all the rage for sailors to fight off scurvy? Take a look at the piece of berry skin on the dish under the eyepiece of the microscope. That's what I'm naming that device since it enlarges things unseen by the naked eye." She excitedly herded Clair to the eyepiece.

As soon as Clair would get ready, Aurora would use a dropper to add lemonade which had both glucose and citric acid. "Watch the reaction." She advised. "Man, I love science¹!"

Clair would see up close, the berry skin molecules interact and neutralize the lemonade molecules.
------------------------------------

After getting Moonstone locked up in the brig, Olivia headed off the ship. As she disembarked the ship, she commented to Hook, "I'll get my boss out of her holding cell, now, before she decides to skin ME, friend or no. That way she can return to serving her queen, until Innis releases her to return to the ship, which shouldn't be much longer."

Unfortunately, Innis would want Wendy to be her guard when Moonstone faces the queen and her chief in the coming trial. As guard for both Chief Great Big Little Panther AND Queen Innis in the court room, Wendy would be wanted, sword drawn, to protect them from possible attack by an angry Moonstone.

Innis would relay that in a message to Hook, along with a request for other privateers to give character testimony regarding Moonstone AND Wendy at the trial. Most of the shipmates would support Wendy's work ethic, but most, including Olivia and MacGoughal would be critical about her sailing abilities. Guard? Yes. Fighter? Best many (including MacGoughal) have ever seen. Sailor? Hell no. Only thing she could do was lookout. If they could get the heights sensitive girl up in the crows nest, 40 feet above the deck.

1-Actually, Aurora saw a chemical reaction, thus chemistry, a branch of science.

Clair smiled as she heard Aurora's response, happy that their wine might actually be extra healthy as a bonus.
"Oh Microscope, I like it! see you are much better with names than I" She said before looking.

"Oh wow, it looks like the berry skin eliminates the acids from the lemon! Oh! what happens if you mix the grape juice with like, blood?" She asked, also being a lover of science.

---------------------------------------

Hook begrudgingly approved allowing Wendy to return to duty, now that Moonstone was in custody, so her threat was minimized. Though would warn her to stay on guard, not knowing if Moonstone had hired anyone else who may still be out there.

Hook would agree, that Wendy would best be used as a soldier, and requesting if she could not be used as the lookout, due to a fear of heights, she she be used as her personal guard.

Ethel would not make a claim, believing she was too far outside the group to have any impactful statement. Though would offer to have a training session with Wendy if she wanted it, all this talk about her being the best fighter they had seen piqued her interest, as she had fought many of the best fighters history had to offer.

Aurora smirked. "I'm afraid it's already proven grape juice and wines are beneficial to the body, Clair, we don't need to run any tests like that. This berry is something that although around a long time, was never tested apparently. Well, we didn't have THIS baby." She patted the microscope. "We learned people seem to be in better health after drinking wine, so grape juice would be just as well. Wine is aged grape juice, after all."

A better question that a curious mind like Aurora's would analyze, would have been alcohol's effect on the blood.

After a breath, Aurora asked, "Okay, with the crisis with the princesses (Sapphire had been severely beaten by Igthorne, and scratched up from her run in the woods to escape Igthorne) over, you mentioned something about an artificial induced sleep during operations? There's also the excessive loss of blood during them, as I'm sure Diana or Cassandra could attest. Let's discuss this sleep first."
------------------------------

Wendy kept a watchful eye on Moonstone as she was brought in the throne room for the two panel judges to hear the testimony, and pass judgement on Moonstone. She kept her hand on the basket hilt of her sword, and even Ethel could notice her hand twitch as if ready to draw at a second's notice.

Although Wendy's eyes roamed throughout the throne room, her head never seemed to move from a set position, mainly turned towards the defendant. The only time she moved was when the prosecutor for the country of Neverland would hand over something to hand to either Innis, Chief Great Big Little Panther, or for both to peruse. Never once, did Wendy ever turn her back fully to the court, not even when Innis told her to look at her and answer a question.

As the testimony ended, and the two conferred with each other, a member of the audience, jumped up, and raced towards the bench before Ethel or Olivia could blink. "Sic semper tyrannis!" He yelled, charging with dagger above his head. Wendy was quicker, her non-wielding arm thrown up to block the knife from hitting her or the Piccaninny Chief, a swift kick to the family jewels, and sword drawn and at the attacker's throat. All in the space of maybe a second or two. "You might want to rethink... Quickly... Who the real tyrant here is, mister. You don't want to make me angry. You wouldn't like me when I'm angry."

Olivia smirked and asided to Ethel. "I taught her that move. I don't know where the hell she learned that phrase, but I like it, and might just incorporate it myself when I disarm a blackguard."

Apparently, Moonstone was behind the attempted assassination of the warrior chief, as she suddenly lowered her eyes once it was clear he failed, and Wendy had him in custody. The reaction from the defendant wasn't lost on either the warrior or the queen. They nodded to each other and Chief Great Big Little Panther arose from his seated position.

"It is our decision that the defendant, Alexandria Moonstone, is guilty of treasonous acts against her own peoples, and the country. She is also found guilty of attempted murder of The Queen's security in front of all of us, and conspiracy to assassinate that same said member of which this trial was originally for. The sentence is death by firing squad. Prepare yourself to meet your maker. The arrows fly at dawn." He retook his seat as Queen Innis banged the gavel to dismiss everyone.

Wendy came over to Ethel. "If you still wish a training session with me, I would be honored. I'm sure there is still much I have need to learn to be efficient in my chosen field."

"Oh, I just thought it might be different between ingestion and injection, but okay" She agreed to not push it any further.

"Okay so for the sleep thing, I have had issues sleeping practically my whole life, mostly because I am always thinking about my inventions and stuff. But of course, I know that I need sleep or I won't be thinking properly. So one day a customer said that these-" She reached into her bag and pulled out some red petaled flowers.
"They can help someone sleep, and it seems to help with me, maybe if we can figure out how or why, and like, focus or concentrate it, we can get artificial sleep?" She suggested.
"Umm, I think the flower is called, Poppy?"

--------------------------------------------------

Both Ethel and Hook were nowhere near the judge or Chief when the would-be assassin yelled and charged them, unless Ethel had a throwable weapon she would not be able to feasibly be able to get past the crowd in her way or close the distance in the short time needed, as the assassin managed to get a front row seat.

"Of course Wendy, now you have something that I lacked, a natural talent, though I can certainly help you benefit from my experience and worldly knowledge. Though I will ask, what per say, is your chosen field we should train in?" She asked raising to meet her gaze.

Aurora studied the plant for a few minutes as she listened to Clair explain things about the theory of sleeping with aid. "Poppy, you say? I wonder if this is the flower used by the Asians, then, to derive opium? Talk of things called opium dens are reaching us over here in Europe now. Many physicians are watching to see what kind of side effects are happening. If they're being mentioned. We're getting that information from people farther east, like Monterisso and Jewel Kingdom. Even the Ottoman Empire are watching them with interest." She handed it back with a sigh. "I'm just a resident, Clair, this is something we'll have to discuss with Dr. Arden when he gets here. I had wrote in my letter after you recovered enough from your incident to please come at his earliest convenience. We were still in Birmingham, but were about to leave for Grovershire. That was almost a week ago, but he'd have to traverse from a port at the Capitol across the Oceanus Britannicus, and through Londonium to get here. He may stop in Grovershire before arriving here, but I informed him of our next several stops. I just have no way of stopping him from going to Scotland first, if he went there." Another sigh. "I'm afraid we just have to wait until he's here for your next big idea. Especially one THIS big."

Clair would have to learn a painful lesson Aurora knew too well, and was even intimate with: Patience.
--------------------------------------++++----

Wendy smiled at first, that Ethel would help her be better, but then frowned and blinked, almost askance at the question. "What I've been asked by the queen to be. She calls it security, but it seems the same as palace or body guard to me. Maybe kicking him in the groin wasn't my brightest move, he nearly doubled over into me with that knife anyway, although the kick did make him lose his grip on it. I know my hand to hand definitely needs work. That was instinct."
