Yuko noticed that Muichiro too had tears in his eyes, despite being close to passing out, he stared at the hilt in Kotetsu’s hand like he had recalled something.
“What an amazing man..” Kotetsu said softly at Yuko’s account, having never met the man, but having heard of his might.

"You did well...see? It all worked out..." The voice of his father spoke to Muichiro gently and he could feel his father's hand on his back in gentle affection.
"Tanjiro-san must want to carry on his legacy with his new blade..." Yuko muttered gently, "What a good lad." She beamed before glancing at Haganezuka, who was still hard at work.

Muichiro could see his family; his father and mother, and his brother too. Tears dripped down his face as he let his body rest, limbs heavy from exhaustion.

"When you're able, Muichiro-sama, we should go find Mitsuri-sama and Tanjiro-san...they could need our help.." She said gently, "Though, I'm not sure how much longer Haganezuka-san is going to take..."

Muichiro nodded the best he could in his tired state, needing a moment of rest before he was able to sit up even. “As soon as Haganezuka-san is done, we’ll take the blade to Tanjiro.” He said.

She nodded and glanced at Haganezuka again, watching him sharpen the nichirin blade to a razor point, "I don't even think Bo-chan is that devoted..." She muttered absently.

Yuko had hardly realized it, but the sun was already starting to just peak over the mountains and filter through the trees- so it was morning already? It felt like the battle had only just begun, and here was daybreak already.

"We should go find Mitsuri-sama." She said and stood, wincing from sitting so long on her knees. She helped Muichiro to his feet before moving to Haganezuka, "Ano... Haganezuka-san...we should really be going now."

Haganezuka kept working away, as if he hadn’t just worked right through a battle with a demon. He was muttering to himself again, staring intently at the blade before suddenly it was gone from his hands.
“We just have to get this to Tanjiro, right?” Muichiro asked, holding the blade in one hand. “Then let’s get going.”
“Hey! Give that back, idiot!! I haven’t finished sharpening it properly yet!” Haganezuka was finally animated, jumping to his feet despite his injuries.

Muichiro nodded, listening over the sounds of Haganezuka yelling and fighting Yuko before setting off toward the sunrise, as if he knew where to go.

Yuko was nearly barreled down as Haganezuka chased after Muichiro, imploring him in vain to allow Muichiro to do what he needed to do as they followed the young hashira.

Haganezuka was hearing none of it, cursing both Yuko and Muichiro, the man never once slowing in his pursuit of the young boy. They had only run for so long before stopping at the edge of a short cliff, Muichiro pulling his arm back before throwing the sword with all his might, making Haganezuka scream even louder.
“Use that blade, Tanjiro!!” Muichiro screamed out as Haganezuka finally caught up and grabbed Muichiro.

Tanjirou looked to Muichiro, who was being strangled by Haganezuka, who was trying to be pryed away from the boy by Yuko and Kanamori, and took hold of the blade quickly. It changed color immediately and he swung hard at Hantengu, taking his head clean off.
"He did it!" Yuko smiled, grappling with Haganezuka still. But, Hantengu wasn't disintegrating. In fact, his body kept going like a newly beheaded chicken.

“Is that not the right demon?” Muichiro asked, watching in horror as the headless demon kept pace after the fleeing swordsmen, Kanamori struggling to keep Haganezuka under control.

"N...No way.." She muttered. The sun was almost up, he would get away and then it would all be for nothing. Tanjirou chased the headless body as it went for some swordsmith villagers, trying to regenerate with them, before Tanjirou shot forward and cut the body in half, and a smaller Hantengu slid out of the cavity without his head just as the sun fully crested the hills. The demon's body began to crumble and the villagers Tanjirou saved clapped and praised him. Yuko gave a sigh of relief, dropping to one knee in exhaustion.

Muichiro collapsed to his knees as well, exhausted and injured from his own fight, letting out a breath of relief. “He did it..”

"Thank goodness..." She muttered, looking over at the young boy once again. Her eyes widened and she grabbed for Muichiro's arm, tugging it to get his attention. "H-Hey...isn't his sister a demon...?" She asked nervously, "Wh-Why isn't she burning up...?"

Muichiro picked up his head again, blinking his eyes as he looked down at the scene before them- Tanjiro speaking with his sister happily. “Yeah, she is.” He muttered, just as shocked to see the sight as she was. “Did she conquer the sun?”

Everything after that was all a blur, more kakushi came from the surrounding areas to help evacuate the village to a new village location now that the current one was compromised.

Yuko reunited with Mitsuri, who was a little worse for wear but otherwise fine.
"Mitsuri-sama!!" She hugged the love hashira tight, "I'm so glad you're ok, I was so worried!!"

Mitsuri hugged her kakushi back despite the pain in her body, tears flowing freely down her cheeks. “Yuko-chan! Thank goodness you’re alright!” The Hashira wept, glad to know she hadn’t lost a single kakushi.

"Gods, look at you. We should get you looked at and fed." Yuko smiled, tears staining her face, "You must be starving from fighting all night."

Mitsuri was doing her best to stop her own tears, but they only kept coming. “I’m starving! Everyone else must be so hungry too!” She said through her tears.
