It was no use, not only was it like trying to move a boulder, it was like trying to talk to one too. She didn’t even seem to break his concentration in the slightest, like he wasn’t aware that she was even there. Maybe it would be better to simply leave Haganezuka where he was and sent Kanamori to safety so she could prioritize protecting the eccentric sword smith.

That was probably her best option. She turned to Kanamori and gave him a firm gaze, thinking on what Sanemi would have done.
"Kanamori-san, Haganezuka-san doesn't seem like he's going anywhere, and it will be hard for me to protect both of you should the demon grow bored with Muichiro-sama or attempt to take hostages. Please, return to a safe distance and stay hidden until the demon is dealt with." She requested.

Kanamori looked to Haganezuka, not wanting to leave his friend. “What about Haganezuka-san?” He asked her, clearly wanting to flee, but in no way would he abandon a comrade.

"I'll protect him with my life." She replied, "I won't let any further harm befall him. You have my word as a member of the Slayer corps."

Kanamori seemed satisfied with her answer, nodding and moving to flee into the forest to hide, leaving only Yuko and Muichiro to deal with the demon.

She made a noise and tested her leg gently. There wouldn't be a lot she could do, but she would do her best to help Muichiro. Even if it was to help give him an opening. She unsheathed her blade and exhaled as she focused.
"Wind Breathing, Second Form: Claws, Purifying Wind." She lunged forward to give her attack some momentum as she swung downward, sending four slashes hurtling toward Gyokko.

Gyokko perked up when Yuko launched her attack, quickly disappearing down into the vase he was protruding from, only to pop up from another vase that had been seemingly randomly placed. “You slayers really are like cockroaches, no matter what more and more just come skittering back..!” He hissed.
Muichiro kept his stance firm, keeping his eyes on the demon in front of him. “You’re still here.. why?” He asked Yuko.

"I said I would help." Why were boys like this? Sanemi had his reasons, sure, but she told Muichiro to his face that she was going to help him fight.

Yuko expected him to tell her to get lost, or even yell at her, but his words would come as a surprise. “Okay.” He responded, shifting his feet to launch another attack at the demon before them. It was incredible to watch him, despite such a small form, he moved with ease and precision.
“Are you two quite done?” The demon before them seemed insulted that they weren’t paying him any mind, angry veins appearing on their head.

Yuko didn't know all the forms of Wind Breathing like Sanemi did, and as it stood for now she couldn't do any of them without her leg screaming in protest. But, she had to try. She did a couple warm up jumps before suddenly bursting forward, keeping as much weight off her leg as she could as she moved to aid Muichiro.

Muichiro didn’t seem to have any problem moving in right along side Yuko to fight, as expected of a Hashira. Once more the demons evaded them by disappearing inside the pot before it was destroyed, emerging from one at the base of a tree behind them. “Neither one of you will be able to cut my neck!” He laughed. “The boys arms are too short and the girl can barely stand~”

"Muichiro-sama, doesn't his vase look a little slanted? Warped, even?" Yuko asked, moving to destroy this vase Gyokko had moved to.

Muichiro made a soft noise, giving a slight nod as he appeared to be inspecting the vase. “It does look rather lopsided.”
“That’s because both of your eyes are bulging!” Gyokko snapped at them, holding up several pots in his multiple arms that Yuko hadn’t noticed before. “What about my vase is warped?!” He screamed as he unleashed hundreds of small fish from the pots, sending Yuko flying back before her blade could connect with the pot.

Muichiro didn’t stop there, knocking the fish away before closing in on the demon. His blade reached his neck, but in an instant the demon seemed to deflate. A blurry shape shot up into the tree, leaving behind the skin of the demon they were fighting.
“Would you please stop jumping up into the trees? It’s getting annoying.” Muichiro said exasperatedly.

“Now I will show you my true form!” Gyokko boasted. “Only two other people have ever seen this form, be grateful, insolent worms!”
“Oh, wow. That sure is a lot.” Muichiro said, though he sounded like he couldn’t care less.

Yuko turned to make sure Haganezuka was alright still, and was glad to see he was still hsrd focused on his work, before turning her attention back to the demon.

Before her eyes the demon changed shape to that of a man with a fish like appearance, covered in scales and hair like fins. It sent a cold shiver down her spine, making her mouth grow dry when she finally saw it- his eyes said Upper Five.

Upper Moon Five? Oh, shit. No wonder he was such a pain in the ass. She glanced at Muichiro and saw his face was beyond deadpan; it was so disinterested in fact that he looked exhaustedly bored. She stifled a laugh, covering her mouth and trying to clear her throat to stop from giggling.

Her laughter didn’t go unnoticed despite her attempts to hide it. The demon whipped his head around, an angry sneer on his face as his gaze fell on her. “What is it that you find so amusing, girl?” He spat, the long tail of his coiling around the tree he was in.

She straightened out, holding her breath for a moment before exhaling, "Nothing! Nothing! My, what a formidable form! Only two people have seen it, wow! Impressive!" She was never good at being sarcastic.

“Shut your mouth, you wretch!” Gyokko hissed at Yuko, then turned to look at Muichiro. “And you! Why haven’t you said anything?” He hissed.
“Well, I’m not really surprised-”
Gyokko had closed in on Muichiro before he had even finished speaking, attacking the young Hashira with several quick blows.

Gyokko’s attention snapped to Yuko, aiming a punch for her head, but she was gone in an instant. Muichiro dropped Yuko on the tree branch next to him, the front of his clothes torn from evading the hits directly.
“Didn’t you just tell me not to flee into the trees?!” Gyokko protested.
“No, it’s just that stink… My nose can’t handle it..”
