Kaguya’s face seemed to soften a bit, looking away from him as he worked. “My name is Kaguya..” She said softly.

Kaguya was caught off guard at his kind words, face flushing and eyes widening a bit.

“N-No..! You didn’t offend at all..!” She had been called a servant to a god her whole life, but never before had she been likened to princess Kaguya. “I’ve just never heard that before..”

“People have always remarked on my appearance… but never in that way.” She said softly.

Kaguya felt relief already from her feet simply being cleaned and wrapped up, much preferring Yoichi over Hakaku. “Thank you..” She said, tears dripping down her cheeks. “For being so kind.”

It was truly an understatement. “I won’t say I disagree with you..” She said, back and feet still aching.

“That man scares me..” Kaguya admitted. “I fear that he will really kill me.” She said softly.

She nodded. “Thank you..” She said softly. She would need a bath soon though, especially if she wanted to keep her wounds from going bad.

"I've done what I can for now. I'll check them tomorrow, and we'll get you in a bath to be sure they won't fester." He told her, "Are you hungry? Would you like any food?"

She felt ashamed to be catered to in such a way, but Kaguya was starving, nodding. “Yes, please.” She said. “Thank you, Yoichi-dono.”

Kaguya nodded and watched him leave, looking around with anxious eyes. What if Hakaku came back before Yoichi did? How was she supposed to get comfortable? She didn’t dare move from the spot he left her in, too terrified to move a muscle despite no longer being restrained.

Despite it all, Hakaku did not return, and Yoichi came back with a bowl of miso and some rice, "Something simple as to not upset your stomach too quickly. I'm not sure what he's fed you, if at all, so best not to lose it as soon as you eat it." He smiled.

Kaguya’s stomach growled at the smell of food when he came back, having to stop herself from wolfing down the food right then and there. “Thank you, truly.” She ate as slowly as she could, not wanting to burn her mouth on the food.
