Kaguya didn’t feel the same way at all, she had never cut her hair in her life, trimmed it, yes bu never cut it.

She didn’t respond to his insults, rather couldn’t even if she wanted too. He seemed to walk forever, taking winding roads and up steep hills, unsure of where they were now.

Kaguya made a faint noise, picking up her head as if she could see what was around them, but she could only listen to what was happening.

The Kakushi looked shocked to see a battered girl slung over the Hashira’s shoulder, staring for a moment before bowing to him. “Y-Yes..! Ubuyashiki-sama has called for the Hashira to gather, everyone should be gathered in the courtyard already!”

Hakaku was the last Hashira to show up in fact, all the other Hashira waiting for him in silence, a few of them looking a little irritated.
The current head of the Ubuyashiki clan sat in wait, cane at his side, and his wife on the other. Despite needing a cane, he wasn’t even twenty yet, his disease progressing rapidly across his body and leaving painful looking discolored skin across his entire body. Only his face remained mostly untouched, but it had already consumed his throat and mouth, leaving him mute.

Hakaku moved and set Kaguya on the ground firmly before bowing to Ubuyashiki, "Please forgive my lateness, Oyakata-sama. There was an unforseen delay."

She grunted when she was placed roughly on the ground, making a noise against her gag but not moving from where he had set her.
The other Hashira looked shocked and appalled to see Hakaku bring a practically naked woman with him, bound, gagged, and beyond filthy.
“See, I told you he was a pervert.” Hanami, the Lightning Hashira whispered with a disgusted look, hiding her mouth with her sleeve.
“What is he thinking, bringing such a sight before Ubuyashiki-sama, abhorrent.” Eiji, the Wind Hashira looked like he would kill his fellow Hashira where he stood. The others murmured about themselves as Tsuneo Ubuyashiki looked down at the young woman before up at Hakaku, a soft scowl on his face. He motioned with his hands, forming signs for his wife to read and then relay.
“Hakaku, what is the meaning of this?” The woman beside Tsuneo- Amari -said, watching her husbands hands. “Why have you brought this woman here to us in such poor condition?”

"She belongs to Douma." He answered simply, "And she looks this way by her own doing. She not only refused to cooperate, by she tried launching from a cliff to evade me."

The stones of the courtyard were far from comfortable, Kaguya squirming uncomfortably on them as she listened to people talk around her she didn’t know.
It grew silent when Hakaku spoke Douma’s name, one of the few Upper Moons they knew about- if only in name.
“Douma you say? You’ve sent many reports back about this Douma, but from what you gathered he was consuming the members of his congregation, are you suggesting this woman is the one human he has chosen not to eat?” Amari asked, Tsuneo keeping his eyes on Hakaku, and though he was only seventeen and sickly, he was rather intimidating.

"I would like to find out more as to why she is so special. But she refuses to tell me anything." Hakaku said, "With your permission, I would like to try and get it out of her."

Kaguya objected behind her gag, knowing that would mean he would only be hurting her more.
Tsuneo looked to Kaguya with a frown, then to his wife.
“Undo the bindings on her mouth.” Amari said, Tsuneo wanting to hear what Kaguya had to say for herself.

“I don’t know what this man going on about at all! He took me against my will from my home!” She said immediately once the gag was removed. “He’s delusional and cruel!” She had nothing to lose by lying now, certainly they wouldn’t let her go, certainly she was going to die here and never again see Douma.
Tsuneo listened to her before looking to Hakaku, though his expression looked neutral.
Amari watched her husbands hands as he signed carefully.
“Hakaku, would you care to give any evidence against her word?”

"You know that on my honor as a Pillar of Humanity that I would never lie to you, Oyakata-sama. I witnessed her speak to a demon and begged it to take her to Douma. My crow watched and witnessed as well." He answered, his crow fluttering to perch on his shoulder.
"He speaks true, Ubuyashiki-sama. She asked to be returned to her lord." The crow squawked.

Kaguya had nothing to say in her defense, Tsuneo, letting out a ragged breath with a nod.
“Get what information you can from her, but you are not to cripple her or to kill her.” He signed, watching Hakaku closely.
A few of the Hashira frowned, and a few others didn’t seem all that bothered.

"Oyakata-sama!" Yoichi shot up, eyes distressed despite his gentle scowl, "I find such a decision appalling! Hakaku's methods are monstrous!"

Kaguya was shocked someone was trying to defend her, turning her head in the direction she heard the voice.
“I understand your concerns, Yoichi, but this is an opportunity we cannot afford to lose.” Amari said softly. “As much as I do not like to involve civilians in our affairs, this one must be the exception. She is conspiring with demons, and not only that, but one of the Upper Moons.” Even if that was true, was there no other options? “If it worries you so, you could see to it yourself to question her.”

Yoichi moved his gaze to Hakaku, who looked ready to kill his fellow Hashira.
"If it means no further harm would come to a fellow human, I would do my best to get the information we need."
"You're a fucking idiot and a fool wrapped in one." Hakaku hissed.

Why was this person standing up for her? He didn’t know her at all, and she had been collaborating with demons- wasn’t he meant to kill demons? Perhaps it was simply because she was human.
“There won’t be any arguing on this subject, the two of you can work out what will be done in order to get the necessary information, but the rules remain.” Tsuneo signed.
