He moved and held it out to her, "Don't scarf it or you'll puke."

She took the fruit with a small glare. “Sorry for being hungry.” She muttered, but listened, taking a bite from the dried fruit.

"Just don't want you wasting it, is all." He scowled softly, "Eating too fast on an empty stomach will cause you to vomit."

 

[Jikkah]

“At least you aren’t wasteful.” She mocked, taking another small bite of the dried fruit, not one for dried fruits, but at that moment it was the best thing she had eaten in a while.

He exhaled his annoyance. If they didn't need her, he would just kill her and be done with it.

She finished the food and wiped her mouth, face smeared with dirt.

 

[DarkMudkip]

"Feel better?" He asked mockingly.

 

[Jikkah]

Kaguya scowled to keep herself from tearing up, turning her head away to hide her face. “No, my skin still hurts.” She muttered.

 

[DarkMudkip]

He gave a fake cooing sound, "You poor thing."

 

[Jikkah]

Kaguya wished she could use the lead rope hanging from her wrists to strangle him, but doubted she’d be able to overpower him.
They only stayed for a while longer in the cabin before setting out again, spending the entire day hiking, not stopping even when the sun set. Kaguya was dragging behind again at that point, barely able to keep up with Hakaku.

"We'll never get there with the pace you go at." He said with a hint of annoyance.

 

[Jikkah]

“Let me go then… if you think I’m so slow..” She said between ragged breaths, legs shaking with exhaustion as she kept going.

 

[DarkMudkip]

"I can't just do that. You have information that we need and I can't seem to get it out of you." He said.

 

[Jikkah]

“Tried… asking nicely..?” She winced as she stepped on another sharp rock, making her limp in pain.

 

[DarkMudkip]

"As if asking nicely would get you to talk.." He grumbled.

Kaguya laughed through her heavy breathing, amusing by her own jabs at him, perking when she head rustling in the forests around them. She looked to Hakaku anxiously, hoping it had been a wild animal and not a demon.

Hakaku seemed to notice, his head turned in the direction of the sound. He hated how persistent demons were.

 

[Jikkah]

They seemed more persistent than usual, perhaps due to the walking meal he had with him, but he could hear several demons circling them in the trees.

"Dammit..." He muttered, gripping his sword as he released her rope, "Just try to stay out of the way."

 

[Jikkah]

Kaguya had no arguments with his order, quickly moving to the side to get out of his way, and no sooner did she do so, did a massive demon leap from the trees straight at Hakaku.

 

[DarkMudkip]

Hakaku deflected its claws with his nichirin blade, scowling heavily, "I'm real sick of you bastards getting in the way."

 

[Jikkah]

Kaguya crouched down at the edge of the path, careful not to get too close to the edge of the cliff, watching the two blurry figures clash in front of her, careful to not make a sound so she wouldn’t draw attention to herself.
The demon had large long claws, almost swords, letting out a loud snarl as he attacked relentlessly. “Relinquish the girl and die, slayer scum!”

"And why do you need her so bad, huh?" He asked with a scowl, "Your master pissed off she's missing?"

 

[Jikkah]

“Lord Douma has demanded the return of Kaguya-sama, and a measly human such as yourself won’t stand in his way!” Kaguya heard his words, heart dropping into her stomach- the fool had just undone so much work she had worked so hard to protect.

Hakaku smirked sinisterly, "Oh, that so?" He asked, "If I let you live, wpuld you tell him to collect her himself?"
