Kaguya was sure the man had to be an idiot, but she pressed the matter no further. “Where is the place we’re going?”

Kaguya frowned softly. “I just want to know where I’m being taken to.” She muttered.

Kaguya was silent the rest of the way, focusing on not falling, the two of them walking until the sun started to set.

Kaguya was sweating and panting hard, willing for their location to be closer. “We’re… almost at… the headquarters..?”

She could’ve collapsed on the ground right there, letting out a small noise of horror and defeat.

“It’s not like I’m dying to get to our destination either..” She wheezed out through heavy breaths.

He gave a snort of a laugh at that and continued down the path. It was almost dark by the time they reached the little shack, and he pulled her inside and locked up the door. "We can rest here before we keep going." He said

Kaguya dropped to her knees, exhausted beyond belief. How was this only halfway, they had been walking for so long she was sure they had reached halfway across the country by now. With every beat of her heart, her back and feet throbbed, making her injures hurt without even touching them.

Kaguya felt another pang of shame, and she briefly glanced at Hakaku, wiping the sweat from her forehead with the back of her hand. “I’m not a swordsman..” She muttered in her defense.

“I was not..!” She argued, feeling embarrassed. “I’m not allowed outside, so I’ve never been in the wilderness!”

“And you’re a bad person.” She said, turning her head away from him. She wondered how lon they’d be stopped there, eyes begging to rest.

Kaguya felt her eyes burn with tears, blinking hard to try and fight them. “Do you want me to beg? Beg for you to save me?” She asked lowly. “Be grateful to you?”

He could only stare at the back of her head, hair growing messy and tangled, Kaguya refusing to answer such a question.
