Chained Worlds [OOC]

Merry Christmas, y'all.
I'm here again, and I'll start working on a post to put my dude into the world.

@LeaT Ohh, a femme orc? That's interesting. Certainly would be rare among the overall player population, I would imagine.
Though if you are looking for a biased opinion in terms of appearances and your intentions for more flirting... well, there is a way to combine those aspects into a single form... unless her intention is to scare people off with her appearance, then I don't know what to tell you. :ROFLMAO:
Go with what you think fits her.

Merry (Belated!) Christmas! I bring you the best present I could possibly give anyone. Myself! Well, myself in the form of making my first character for the game. I would assume air elementalist is the elementalist I would go for if I wanted her to be lightning focused, but if a different element represents it better, do let me know! Likewise, let me know if there are any issues in so far as my character.

Same to you!

For elementalist, wind/air could totally work with lightning. You can even make it a wind+fire kind of thing. You could have all elements, or stick with a few (or one) strong one. I like the creative spin on it!

Based on all I read so far, I don't have any issues with the character you are working on. :]

Great! I admit I'm not sure what more needs to added/done to the character to make it complete, but if there is anything I missed I'm certainly happy to rectify it.

That's one thick orc. Any man would be happy to plow that though I feel she want a good man who knows what he's doing.

@Ahlanna , approved.

Yay! Another lady. We are improving on our male and female balance. We also have Lea, Rev, Violet, and another female in my DMs who might swing by, who all might be submitting characters soon. Let's give the boys a run for their money... Um, I mean, gold and exp. ;D

Hello there!

And gold is always appreciated, do you know how much it costs to run a building in Evercrest? The enchanted plumbing alone costs a pretty plat. Frost essence for the temperature, everflow decanters for water supply ... and bard prices are just murder! At least, the good ones.

So, it would be simplified for the sake of the game so you shouldn't have to worry about plumbing and stuff. It depends on how big the building is, also if it is in a "hot" spot, I'd say. If it is near the marketplace or on the outskirts. I said the average house is 10,000G, so since it is 'extra' it should by default cost more. I'd say if it is modest, something like 30-50k would be fair. If you are trying to buy a castle size place, guessing something like 100k+! Ouch! Could be cheaper in other regions, but the main hub, is the main hub, ya know? But high prices also allow it so not everyone can have something giant without planning/effort. I don't have any set prices, so you are allowed to set your own. I just ask everyone that they try to be fair. ;D

It's OK. It did mean parting with some of her gear sets. Just have to make do without the trip set, or the ranged stun set. Or the anti-holy set, the underwater combat set and the lava boss set. But those were situational anyhow. The arc lightning hammer was a painful sacrifice, though!

@Passion I think she was asking about the daily/monthly/weekly/whatever maintenance and upkeep costs of actually keeping a business like a tavern up and running... xP

But would that also mean that once you have a house/building you can turn it into whatever you want so long as it fits inside with no need for upkeep? Also, can we build new houses anywhere on the map besides directly on top of already generated structures or are there pre-designated "plots" that players can buy and build on?

I jumped the gun, but I'm not thinking too clearly tonight. Oops.

Nah, I'm not going to charge things like maintenance since that might get complex, and plenty of games don't do it (I know there are some that do too, though, so, great question!) If you want to add a fee to make it feel more legit to you, I won't stop you. As long as there as an explanation to afford that building, I'm more than good with it.

Ideally, you would be buying a building 'close' to what you trying to make it. If you want a shop, buy a 'shop', then customize it however you want. At the same time, I don't see anything wrong if someone wants to buy an empty building, and go full out on customization. Just once again, you will need the gold to back it, even if it is luxury vs basic furniture inside. Things can come with some pre-decorated, and you can buy stuff and put it in your inventory to then place in a building to add to it.

Uh, so I'm a bit unsure about if people can build houses anywhere on the map. I think the correct answer is that it would be difficult to buy new in Evercrest beyond general housing. There is a large player base in the game, so I think it is safe to assume a lot of the good spots are taken. Some can RP out getting lucky or buying a building off a player, maybe even having some kind of winning bid, but I would think the main hub would have less options than if you want to build some kind of cool mage tower in a different region.

Don't worry, I'm not either. 20 hours of not sleeping does that to you. xP

.....but I would think the main hub would have less options than if you want to build some kind of cool mage tower in a different region.
So long story short, we can only buy/build houses out of a selection each of which has its own size and cost, then either take the basic or luxury recommended by default or buy each piece of furniture separately and place it however we want, provided the player has the gold to do so. And based on what I understood from what you said, yes the players can build houses out in the regions, effectively allowing them to form their own towns or own a random mage tower in the middle of nowhere like you said. Cool. xD

Sorry if I'm talking too much or asking too many questions. I'm way too curious for my own good, even if I don't do anything with that knowledge.... like here, since most of my characters gold is spent in alchemy and tailoring ingredients and buying new gear in general.

My characters smithy doubles as a house as well, the smithy all on the ground floor while the house itself is on the first floor. Since it's smack dab in the middle of town and quite well known, he always gets more then enough gold.

Hey, everyone! I'm out of town at the moment, but I've been working on a character concept for when I get back. I'm thinking of playing an elf elementalist who basically writes in-game strategy guides to sell to other players, since everyone's cut off from the usual wikis and other online channels they'd normally rely on. She spends her time mapping out regions, chasing up rumours of rare spawns, items, and quests, and experimenting to reverse-engineer stuff like formulas and monster stats - then writes it all up in a digestible format and uses her in-game Scribe profession skills to duplicate her work for sale. Doing all this is time-consuming, so she's a bit behind the level curve and often has to hire other players to act as escorts or do stuff like take hits from bosses for experimental purposes.

Combat-wise, I'm thinking she leans on a couple of rare items that let her get extra use out of consumable spell scrolls, which sometimes means she can (briefly) hit outside her weight class. I think her player is actually male offline, and is still getting used to being a cute elf girl 24/7.

@Passion How does that all sound to you?

Hi All,

Thanks for your suggestions and encouragement. Things have developed though that will prevent me from giving this group the attention it is due so I am going to bow out. Seems like a great group, have fun.

@Silverbird

I feel like she would probably also know all the best place to get items. So, Hunter is a well known smithy who's quality of weapons are always perfect as he like to create and build things in real life, she would probably also know all the player owned business and probably have a relationship with each of them, I can image Hunter would probably flirt with her since he has a preference for elves so I can image the male behind her probably feels a little awkward.

I think this is a very cute and original idea! :)
