That feel when you first burn yourself with boiling water and you think, "Ah, okay. I guess that wasn't bad. It feels fine." Then spend the next few hours dealing with an ouchy burn that progressively reveals itself. You could have probably helped things later by reacting as if it were a bad burn right from the beginning, like putting cold water on it. But you didn't because it didn't hurt then and you thought you could splash boiling water from the stove right on your hand and get away with it. Because you're dumb and think you're lucky or something.
