"You will regret those words." he said softly, as his hands went for both of his blades. One hand slowly pulled on the katana, a Masamune blade, the other pulling out the family wakizashi. "Come at me and die."

She grinned, her sword poised and ready for a fight. "I'm not stupid enough to make the first move." She tossed her hair over her shoulder, watching him with the eyes of a hawk.

"If you think I am that low, then you have another thing coming." His stance was purely defensive, holding out for her strike. His eyes locked on her, watching every little nuisance in her body. But he had the hand up with his swords.

She pouted. "What? You won't hit a woman?" She laughed coldly. "How chivalrous." She ran a finger along her blade, a thin line of blood forming across her pale skin. She licked her finger, a drop of blood catching on her lip. She left it there, staring intently at him, contemplating her next move. She could always let him chase after her, or sit and stew on things... Let the game heat up. That was always much more interesting than a battle of brute strength.

He stayed silent, focusing on her. The deadly Iajutsu duels. It was what he was made for. He wasn't going to perish here. he saw her cut her finger, drawing it to her lips and sucking lightly. He growled low in his throat.

She turned her back to him, resting her sword on her shoulder. Staring up at the sky, she feigned preoccupation with a bird. "You know, a few years ago, I would've been weak in the knees for a man like you." She scoffed, wrinkling her nose in disgust. "Brave, obedient soldier. Brave, obedient fool is more like it..."

He heard those words and growled low, his voice under his breath.

"If you only knew who my daimyo was..." He looked at her current position. "Well than, kill. You won't pass me, your next opponent."

She shrugged. "It makes no difference to me who your daimyo is...though I'm sure I'll find out." She glanced up at the late afternoon sky once more. "Hmm. It looks like I have to go. But maybe we can play again sometime soon." She turned and grinned at him before darting off into the crowd of people and disappearing.

He growled low as she took off, himself following in hot pursuit. What was she planning? Why was she killing people? Of course, he would get the answer from her before he killed her. But at the moment, his mind was focused on keeping her in his sights as he ran after her.

She leapt up onto a wheelbarrow and from there leapt higher, onto the roof of a small village hut. She danced along the rooftops, smirking over her shoulder when she noticed him giving chase. She jumped from roof to roof, landing with graceful ease each time.

He followed suit, the jumps easy to him as he rushed across the rooftops. "You won't get away!" He yelled out, drawing his Masamune and holding it up, ready for combat as he followed her at a rather insane speed.

She laughed. "Eager to lock swords, are we?" She jumped from the rooftop to a tree branch quite a few feet away, and sprinted off into the canopy of the woods. "You'll have to try harder than that!"

"You make weak play." He called out softly as he followed into the trees. "You will not escape." The jumps from branch to branch were rather easy for him, his free hand giving him leverage and extra distance with jumps.

She hopped down from the treetops with a soft thump, drawing her sword as she landed. There was a river up ahead, and it gave her little option. She either had to fight, or run back into the village. She hadn't thought he'd persue her this far...

He saw her land down and bring out her weapon, and he jumped down about 10 feet from her, spinning and landing easily on his feet, his blade in both hands. "This is the end of the road. You either come with me or die." His voice was low, dangerous.

She smirked mockingly. "And what shall become of me if I go to you?" She skidded to a complete stop, leaves billowing around her as her feet dug into the soft bed of the forest floor. Her sword rested against her shoulder, but her muscles tensed in anticipation of the battle likely to come.

"That is not for me to decide." He said low, his left hand moving from the Masamune's grip and going to the sheathe of his wakizashi, slowly drawing it and falling into a defensive position. "But I can guarantee that your death will be quick."

Clicking her tongue and shaking her head, she sighed slowly, feigning exhasperation. "It seems to me like my options are limited. Death, either way." She paused, her eyes penetrating his, frozen silver glass. "But why? What is it that gives you reason to want my death?"

"You are obviously the one that has been killing the people of the village. I have no doubt now. Get ready!" He jumped forward then, his wakizashi held in defense as his Masamune made a heavy horizontal slash.

She blocked his strike, the swords mere inches from her nose. "You have no doubt?" She laughed loudly, striking back and shuffling away. "Then you are surely a fool. What proof have you?"

((I have to go for a bit, but I'll be on later tonight.))

He blocked her strike easily and launched forward, going into a flurry of strikes. "Your actions, they clearly show that you are guilty."

She blocked most of his strikes, but one slipped past her guard and struck her across the arm, slicing a thin line in her kimono. Blood seeped out slowly, trickling down her arm to form a bright red rivulet across her pale flesh. "I can say honestly that I did not kill any of your damned villagers, nor do I intend to! You're a damn fool! And you attack with no reason!"

He jumped back from his strikes, kneeling down and wiping the blade clean of the blood on the ground. "You say that now, because you know you will die. I will not show you mercy. You still have a chance to give up."

She laughed harshly, holding her arm. Blood seeped through her fingers. "I am telling the truth. I am not afraid of death, not that you would bring it upon me. I don't know who it is that is killing your villagers, but my hands are clean of their blood. I am by no means innocent, but this time I am not guilty." She paused, glancing down at her arm and wincing. "Damnit, look what you've done. You ruined perfectly good clothes." She huffed, glaring at him before speaking once more. "Whoever killed them is also responsible for slaughtering almost all of the people that live in my brother's village. Which has, unfortunately, caused his remaining people to suffer. They cannot tend the fields with so few people, and so they are in danger of starvation. He asked me to find the bastard and bring back his head."

((I'm so distracted by your signature...Lol. o_O ))

His eyes narrowed as he heard her sad tale - as darlky as it was put - and he slowly sheathed his Wakizashi. Purposely keeping the Masamune out. He wasn't going to be blindsided by a swift attack from her while he was unequipped. "If that is so, then we share a similar mission. But I have my eyes on you. One sign of deceit, and it will be your head."
