Light in the Shadowlands w/Umbra

Ellis smiles as Kaldian looks away down at his shoes his face a shade of red. " Very well but I think Your friend is with Karzadal down at the stables I can see them from here see." He point's to two small figures and the winged horses grazing on the ground. they were below them pasted the gardens and courtyard.

Zulore could tell this one was different from the others it gave off a air of importance and authority. He would wait It was the bast thing to do. He bowed lowly to Azra and sat down with the others. " You going to come over too?" He looked hopeful surrounded by all the animals.
 
Ellis brushed some of Kal's hair back from his face. He could see his face was a bit red. He looked out off the balcony and spotted Karzadal and he had Zulore with him it seemed. " I found your friend. look he is with Karzadal at the stables. It is late you sure you want to see him now I can walk you out there if you feel up to it." He could see Kaldain was tired but he wouldn't push it if he wanted to see his friend. After he took him there and back to the room he would have to go back to work there was still much to do.

Zulore could tell Azra was different form the rest he demanded respect and he watched Zulore from afar to see what he would do. Zulore new better then to approach him first so instead he waled into the enclosure and bowed to him. Then he sat down with the bicorns all around him nudging him so they could get petted of get his attention. " You going to come in too?' He said hopefully. He was wondering if Karzadal liked animals too or if he was just happy to show him. He wasn't sure.
 
"Huh?"Kal looks over the balcony, how come he didn't notice them before? "They are down there with winged horses. Are they...dangerous?" They look like horned demons than regular horses, but he would have to talk to him in the morning. "Will he be ok? Maybe I should go down there to make sure...."

Azra ignores Zulore after staring at him before minding its own business. "He is not the easiest to get along with, he does what he pleases." He said, chuckling. "But still,it is best that you keep your distance from him, he is dangerous if you do not have his permission." He warned him, as Azra is resting on the grass and a mare approached. "Especially his Mare, Polluxia, she is full right now."
 
Ellis laughed, " No they are Bicorns and he is fine. He is with Karzadal so he will be quite safe. You know not all demons are bad and Bicorns may look like demons but they are actually a type of dark fae. So you don't have to worry Kal." Ellis grabbed his hand and walked him into the hall once more. " I will take you to the room alright?" He walked through the crowded ballroom/ dinning hall everyone parted way for him and Kaldian. Saying nothing but clearly looking at kaldian and the king.

Zulore ignored him and petted they others happily. He wasn't into forcing animals to do what he wanted. instead he had learned to give them space and respect. Maro felt ignored just being held so he did what he always did and went to cause mischief. He slinked away poofing in and out to get up close to the horses. once he was sure no one could see him he disappeared and hopped a top the tree Azra and the mare were under. he shook the fruit off the tree causing it to fall. This spooked all the horses and Zulore stood up instinctively he went to go get Maro forgetting what Karzadal had said and hoping they didn't try to eat Maro. " Sumaro what? ... Oh no don't was all he could say before the chaos happened.
 
"...but..." Kal is dragged away trying to see what he is doing. "Are you sure? I mean..." He s concerned at best, but he couldn't stand being watched. "I've been thinking that we should change my title...'Queen' is just too weird for me." He told him, and when the gotten into the bedroom, he looks at his clothing. "Alright ugh...how do I take this off?"

Karzadal stared as the little fox is causing trouble, so he jumps into the frey and quickly moves in to protect Zulore. Azra stood up as he is not pleased by this disturbance and wants to trample the little fox. He glared at Zulore and wants to charge in, but Karzadal is in the way. They stood there ground, waiting to see the other would make their move.
 
Was this a trick did he just ask him how to take off his clothes? This was a trap wasn't it or maybe he is just seeing how far he will go. Ellis knew he had to keep his wits about him. He walked over to Kaldian, " Here let me help you since you can't reach." Ellis took the gilded armor of and slowly unbuttoned the back pealing the material away from Kal's soft skin. Yup this was a test a test of his will he thought as he swore inwardly to himself. Why must he look so tempting.

Zulore knew this wan't good clearly Azra was upset and Maro was still causing trouble. He could only think of one thing and hope that Karzadal was quick to catch him this would be risk in of it's self. He jumped on one of the winged bicorns and rode toward Maro scooping him up and gliding into the air. This made the male Bicorn lord very mad and he flew up after him. they did a few passes by once Zulore was close to the ground and to Karzadal he shouted "catch!" and threw Maro at him. On the next pass he was going to jump and hopefully land next to Karzadal who had Maro placed next to him on the ground. " I am going to jump down on the next pass." he said. Azra was getting closer to him now not as mad more like he thought It was a fun game or something at this point. As Zulore jumped off Azra clipped him with his wing and Zulore came tumbling down towards the ground.
 
"Mari had to help me put this thing on, all I want you to do is unzip it and i'll be on your way." He said, that is all he wanted. There are some old scars on his back, he is a warrior after all. "Hey, what's the hold up?" He asked, he didn't want to strip in front of Ellis, he would move to the bathroom.

Karzadal quickly caught the little fox in his hand, and he saw that his beloved being chased bu Azra. His heart jumps once Zulore starts to tumble down, but thankfully the Saber Tooth Panther is summoned by his will and jumps high,managing to catch him in time before he crashed. "Zulore, are you ok?" He rushed over to him and held him in his arms.
 
Ellis froze as he reached out and slid and hand down to trace the scars on Kaldian's back. He pulled him close so he could see and unzip the rest of the top.one hand rested on Kal's stomach as Ellis touched his back pulling of the shirt and holding him close.

Zulore was fine. He now new that Azra liked to play games and unfairly too. Azra landed close by clearly happy as he pranced up to them and looked at Zulore. Zulore tilted his head up and smiled " Your friend likes to play dirty next time I will prepare better. I am fine I have had worse falls sometimes with no one to catch me. Thank you by the way. Also sorry for scarring you and for Maro causing you trouble. You can put me down now." He blushed as he could feel the heat be so close to Karzadal.
 
"H-Huh?" Kal felt his fingers on his scars, this made him shiver in surprise. "What are you doing back there? W-Why are you trying to touching me there?" He didn't expect this to happen, plus he is very close to Ellis when it happened.

"Not yet, he isn;t done with us." The general turns and runs as Arza is still chasing them, but stops as soon as they enter into the castle. "That was close..." He sighs, placing his beloved on his feet. "I think we should retire for the night, i'll escort you to the room." What a night it has been, maybe it would be best to stay away from the Bicorn for the time being. "Is your fox always causing trouble?"
 
" How did you get this one ?" it was said softly in almost a mesmerized wispier as he traced the scar along with his cool hands. " Did it hurt?" What a stupid question it probably did hurt at the time but still he was curious as to how he got them.

" Uh sometimes... He gets upset when he is not the center of attention. Sumaro isn't really mine he is a snow spirit that happened to take a liking to me when i was younger. He has been with me since i was a baby and him a pup. But he never try's the same thing twice if always is a bit different each time. not that that helps with his behavior but at least it helps predict what he will do sometime's. By the way where did the large cat go? wasn't it the one who caught me?" Zulore was rambling clearly startled by what had just happened. he wasn't paying attention and bumped right into the back of Karzadal when he stopped at the door to there room. " sorry I guess I wasn't looking where I was going." He said as he rubbed his nose as it just got squished Upon impact.
 
"In battle, of course...there where a couple of bad guys I had to take down..." Kal doesn't want to explain, or rather he doesn't want to remember all the instances when he was sliced open on the battlefield. "I am getting tired...I think I will take this off and slip into bed." He quickly moves away from Ellis and closed the door behind him. That was something, why did he have to touch his scars? Shivering, he let the outfit slide off his body, and he groans when he saw it is a elegant night gown. He has no choice but to put it on and exit the bathroom.

"It would be best if you stay focused, I wouldn't want to see you hurt." Karzadal lightly teased him. "The panther is my familiar, it obeys my will. Just remember that...do you have any questions for me?" He asked him, since they have made it to his room safely. It is best that he would rest in his room, tomorrow would be a easy day.
 
When Kaldain came back out in the nightgown Ellis laughed so hard he cried. It was too funny. Whoever did this he would have to thank latter but for now he need to stop laughing and get kaldian some pajamas. " L-Let me get you something else." He said trying not to laugh to much more. He walked over to the wardrobe and opened it up. Grabbing a long shirt and underwear he threw it onto the bed and walked out into the hallway an attempt at calming down he would go back in a few seconds but he needed a minute to breath first.

" Yeah why do you have to wear pointy clothes running into you hurts you know." He looked up at him still holding his nose. " And another thing why did you stop so suddenly." He let his hand fall to his side and tilted his head to one side.
 
Kal didn't say anything as Ellis just laughs, but he mercifully leaves him alone here with his thoughts. He doesn't bother changing into the new pjs as he just turns to the large window, staring at the clear sky and the moon silently. This is overwhelming for him, this kingdom is nothing much shadow to him, today his kingdom has surrendered and now he has been given to a complete stranger.

"My apologies, i'll try to pick something less painful for you." He said, as he blinks. "....nothing, it is important that you get some rest now. I am sure that you had a long day." He once again held he hand, he just couldn't help it. His hands are cold, but they are soft and just want to hold them one more time.
 
It took Ellis a while to clam his thoughts and emotions. He went to his study and finished some work. An hour had passed by and he was finally Tired. One of his Attendants walked in and handed him so coffee. He rubbed his eye's and thought about today. When should he tell Kaldian about there past. This was not the first time he had seen Kaldian before. He remembers going to the human's castle and seeing a young knight training in the yard. His smile is what caught his attention. He was laughing and joking around with the other knights. he wished Kaldian would do that with him but he wasn't sure he ever would. Ellis decided to stay in his study after making a fool of himself earlier. He would work to take his mind off of everything.

It occurred to Zulore that if he was going to rest in the room where was Karzadal going to sleep? " Um thanks for today I do have one more question....." He paused and blushed a bit when he looked away to the door. "where are you going to sleep?" He peeked up at him and he wished he didn't. He could feel his heart in his chest pounding and his face felt hot. His hand felt warm as he Squeezed Karzadal's hand slightly back.
 
Kal sighs as he doesn't want to think about the future and just need to rest. He slides on the bed, underneath the sheets to just sleep and hopefully things would be better by the morning. It is an empty bed though, would he come into the bed to sleep?

"This is the guest room, I'd figure that you would want to have your own room considering that...you would think lowly of me when we first met. I do not wish to rush you by staying in my room, sleeping in my bed might make things uncomfortable." He said, as he didn't want to make things awkward. The king has taken two warriors from their home after their reigning king surrendered, does his future beloved...hated him?
 
Ellis stayed in And worked all night. It was just passed ten in the morning when Mari knocked on Kaldian's door entering and placing a breakfast tray on the near by table. " Your highness It is time to get up you will have quite a lot of thing's to do today and we best put are best foot forward." She bounced around in a cherry manner opening up the curtains letting the sun shine through the tall windows.

" I don't think lowly of you or your kind why would you think that?" He was grateful to be here with Kaldian but also this was the first time he had been allowed out of the wizard's tower. Magic was something to fear where he was from so if you had it in any they would send you to the tower to learn how to use it you couldn't leave till you were considered not a threat and you had completed your training. So for Zulore this was a blessing and he never thought anyone could or would be so kind and gentle to him on with magic, One who is to be feared. He opened the door to the room and stepped inside but before he closed the door he picked up Maro and said, " I don't hate you and thank you for today it was nice to see the animal's and to meet you."
 
Kal grumbles as he is awaken by the morning light, so it wasn't a dream after all, he is still here in this strange land. "Oh..." He looks at the breakfast, it wasn't bad and he noticed that the king is still missing. "What am I going to do? And where is the king?" He asked.

Karzadal is surprised at this, which made satisfied. "You are welcome, i'll see you in the morning." He had to let go so that Zulore could go in, and he had to leave. The next morning, Juri walks into the room to serve him breakfast and she opens the curtains to let in the sunshine. "Good morning, Lord Zulore."
 
Mari walks over and hands him a simpler outfit for today then he had on last night. Still in the same style but much more comfortable. " The king has been in his study working all night your highness. Now if you would just go get dressed you can sit down and eat. I will answer all your questions the best i can then." She said this in a motherly manner.

Zulore had gone to bed after he had the hardest time getting the clothes off from yesterday. They laid about the room in whatever he could reach to get off, leaving him in the black under shirt and pants witch unzipped in the back and he couldn't reach. He was sleeping on the bed with Sumaro cuddled up next to him like a scarf. He opened his eye's as the sun came into the room from Juri opening the curtain's. " Good morning?" he said as he sat up and yawned. His hair was a mess all fluffy curls scattered about.
 
"Really?"He has no idea if this is healthy or not, but he does gets himself dressed so he can begin this mysterious day. "Wow, I cannot believe that I actually have a schedule, what am I suppose to do after I am done here?" He asked Mari, getting up to get dressed and just wonder what could happen today.

"It is time for breakfast, and I have set up clothing you will wear for the day. "Juri said as she moves close to him, and she helps him unzip his clothing he couldn't get off from yesterday. "Lord Karzadal will be waiting for you in the Ashen Orchid, I shall take you there once you are finished. I'll also answer whatever questions you ask."
 
Mari smiled as he walked out and sat down. She brushed his hair really quick and stood next to him and poured him coffee " Cream and sugar? She did as he asked and then told him about what he would be doing. " Your highness first thing today on your scheduled is History of the kingdom and lands then, you will learn about what a royal needs to be able to do so there will be dance tutor A etiquette tutor and then you will have lunch after that you will have time to work with some of the knight's and humans in the training area.Then you can relax in your room till dinner time. I will be here if you have any question's through out the day. You can not leave my side it would be unsafe if you were to get lost and the king wants to keep you safe your highness."

Zulore was not a morning person, so when miss Juri told him what was going on all he could say was " mmmhm " . He got up and went to change which took about thirty minutes because he wasn't awake and didn't know how to put the clothes on correctly so when he came out again Juri sent him back and fixed his clothes for him. Maro had left off somewhere by the time Zulore had ate breakfast and was ready to go. Still clearly not very awake but he was trying his best to be. " Where are we going ?" He asked yawning a bit.
 
"Both please..." Kal asked her, as she is telling him what he is suppose to do today. He is really going to go though all of this? He is going to study, which is no problem for him as he was taught mostly by the Elina. Even when he became a knight, he slowed down his studies a bit, he had no intentions on becoming royalty even though the king offered his daughter once. "All of that? Aw man..."

Juri swiftly moves to help Zulore with his clothing, he is such a sleepy person. "Would you like a strong coffee to wake you up? You still seem to be sleepy." She told him, as there are plenty of evidence for that. "Master Karzadal is a very patient man, take some time, but he will be in the same place."
 
She poured the coffee and splashed some milk and sugar into his cup. " First is history and culture we will go when your done eating your highness. I am sure you will do very well if you try hard and it will please the king to know your good at something." Mari looked happy that he was doing something for the king or at least she thought it was because he liked the king everyone did once they got to know him.

" No I am fine. I am just not very good in the morning's don't worry I will be able to do what needs to be done. " He smiled at her reassuringly while tripping over the rug to fall flat on his face. "Ouch!" He lifted himself up off the floor and looked up at the table with the food on it. He brushed himself off and sat down with a smile. " Well I am awake now for sure." He laughed a bit at how stupid he must have looked.
 
Kal doesn't like this one bit, but he would have to so he would be done with the day. He drinks his coffee and eats his food, feeling refueled and stood it. "Alright, Mari, let's get this over with." He sighs, brushing his eyes and as he thinks that he is ready for school.

Juri watches him fail of waking himself, sighing as she cannot believe this. "My lord, it is probably best that you quickly adapt to waking up in the morning. It wouldn't be productive to hurt yourself accidentally." She helps him stand on his two feet, and she opens the door. "Follow me, please."
 
Mari took him to his lessons and watched over him as he tried his best. It was mid-day by the time they finished with most of the books and activity's. " Your highness Lunch is served in your room and I left a change of clothes for you to wear after Lunch is your training practice with the Guards Captain." She smiled as they made their way back to his room. They had not seen the king all day She wondered if he was upset or they had a fight last night. She would ask next chance she got.

Zulore walked behind Juri quietly. Looking around he wondered what Kaldian was up to he hadn't seen him since they arrived , well he had seen him just didn't have the chance to talk. He would have to see if he could find him today and have a talk. Kaldian must be very worried and upset more so then him.
 
Kaldain groans as his head felt like it is going to explode, as his lessons went on and on. He finally had a chance to sit down in his room and sighs. "Thanks...but do you think I could see Zulore?" He asked her, as he hasn't seen him since last night. He is lonely, and he needs someone to talk to.

Juri has taken Zulore to Karzadal in the garden and they have spent some time with each other and he has taken out his future bride for lunch outside. "How do you feel?" He asked him, he has taken Zulore around to visit the various animals that wouldn't harm him.
