Light in the Shadowlands w/Umbra

This made him laugh out loud Did he think water would cover him? Ellis walked over to a small table just passed the large bath. He then picked up a small bottle and looked at it continence. turning around he smiled "Then I won't just watch." He walked over and dropped the bottles continence into the water . Picking Kaldian up into his arms traping his hands between them. " So I have given you what you wanted now it is time i think you gave me something that I want .." He whispered into Kal's ear.

Was she making fun of him? He wasn't sure but if she was he fell for it hook line and sinker. He would have to pay more attention while he was here. He took the clothes she offered and let her show him where the bathes were. She left him in the room saying to call if he needed anything and telling him the general will be back to pick him up in a hour or so and to be ready. Zulore took a bathe with Maro jumping in and out of the water freezing it and unfreezing it. He had plenty of time to spare so he decided to sit and read on the bed till it was time to go. he had dressed and been reading for a few minutes before he fell asleep Maro laying next to him along with his new friends all sleeping.
 
"What are you doing?" Kal moves away from him, then witness him pouring something in the water. "What is that? Are you trying to poison me?" The is a terrible thought, as he tries to move away, but is being picked up and he is close to him. He doesn't mean what he thinks he mean...right? He wasn't ready! "Hold on! What do you mean by that?"

The time that Zulore fell asleep, a sabertooth panther walks into the room silently, and then moves up to the bed. Its peeking to see if he is awake, if not, the cat paws at his face to do so.
 
Ellis Hugged him close smiling and only looking at Kal's face. Holding him tightly Ellis boop's his nose with his own. "There all paid not so bad right my sweet?" with that he sets Kal down in the water once more and walks to the door. Before he leaves the room he turns his head and smiles. " The liquid in the bottle won't poison you it is just lavender to help you relax. Dinner is in Ten minutes, come out when your ready my sweet." With that he strolled out of the room to go get dressed himself.

Zulore is used to Maro pawing at his face but this felt different to him. Warmer? He reached over and petted the soft furry creature. Siting up and realizing he wasn't where he thought he was, he looked over to see a Panther which confused him even more. " Hello." He said looking down at the large cat he was apparently petting with Maro still sleeping upside down on the bed.
 
Kal blinks, what is with this guy? He frowns though, as he just couldn't understand this guy. "Ah..." He is out of the bath now,so he has to get ready for this dinner so he can be quick. "Fine..." He wraps around a towel on his body and walk into the bedroom. He found something on the bed for him, looks elegant, something that he hasn't been in...

The panther paws him until he woke up, and the voice of Juri echoes in his head. "Excuse me, my lord. It is almost time. When you are ready, I shall guide you." The panther lays on the rug, waiting for him to be done.

Mari went to get Kal bouncing up and down the hall she reached the door. *knock knock* " Your highness it is time to go the King is waiting for you." She opened the door to see if he needed help or not.

Zulore got up from the bed and turned to Sumaro " I guess it is time to go. come on Maro" he waited to be shown the way lead by the tiger out the door.

Kal sigh as this crap just keep getting better and better. He puts on the robes and he finds that it is easy to slip it on. "Ugh...ok...i'm ready..." He said, as he opens the door and let Mari lead him into the dining hall.

The panther stood up, and walks its guest into a large dining hall, it is moderate, but it has a large table with food on it. There are other demons that are set there, and Karzadal has an empty seat next to him.

Ellis waited for Kal to enter the banquet hall. He sat in his chair at the center of it all, Kal's chair to his left as per tradition. As soon as Kal entered the room The king stood up and everyone bowed to Kaldian. "Welcome to the Queen" they all said as they bowed in unison as Mari lead him to the King's side.

Zulore entered the hall before Kaldian, lead by the panther to his seat next to Karzadal. He could see tons of different kinds of people humans included among them. They were talking happily at the long golden tables full of food and drink. Karzadal was on the kings right hand side next to the king was another throne like his but no one was sitting next to him yet.
 
Kal stood there, they just stood up and bowed to him as he just entered into the dining hall. He doesn't like the thought of being a 'queen' just felt odd and insulting to him. "I am not a queen!" Does he look like a woman? He is somewhat dragged to the seat besides the king, and he glares at him before sitting down. The food seem normal enough, what if he cannot eat these and become sick? Oh boy, he is just nervous about it. He turns to Zulore for help.
 
Zulore looks over at Kaldian and smiles reassuringly at him as Maro jumps in kal's lap to nuzzle his hand. Zulore points to the human food on the table hoping that it will calm his friend down a bit.

"Kaldian i would like your help on something I feel is very important and I am not able to decide on it without your help." Ellis picked up his glass and sipped the wine in it, looking down at kal's face. " Will you help me after dinner?" he smiled at kal this time more sweetly as if he was being friendly to him.

Zulore felt very out of place. It seamed everyone was staring at him and Kaldian most oddly. It didn't help that there were so many people and he was never good at party's or crowded ballrooms. Clearly he was nervous so much in fact that his hands were shaking a bit.Still he didn't want to disrespect his host so he sat very still and smiled and nodded in all the right places.
 
"Huh?" Kal raise an eyebrow. Help for what? He wonders what is going on. What could he possibly want his help for? "As long as you aren't trying anything funny, then fine."

"Are you ok?" Karzadal asked Zulore. He held his hand, he has been shaking for quite some time and wants to calm him. "Its ok, You would only have to speak to me if you want. The food is safe for you to eat."
 
Ellis looked at kaldian very seriously, "I don't play when it comes to my people's happiness. I wouldn't ask if I didn't think you weren't capable of the task." He sipped at his drink and then smiled down at Kaldian, " But that can wait. this party is to celebrate peace and our future. Do you dance Kaldian?" He stood up and pressed kal's hand to his lip's after he bowed to him a smile on his elegant face.

"Hmmmm ..... Oh no I am alright just not used to so many people looking at me so much. the food is good thank you... You don't need to worry about me I will be fine." He blushed a little from Karzadal holding his hand. Besides kaldian his childhood friend no one ever liked to touch him, simply because he was as cold as snow and ice. Instinctively he withdrew his hand.
 
"Oh? Then its a matter of life and death?" He asked, a serious matter? That made him concerned, but then he is asked for a dance. "Dance? I..." How embarrassing, no one taught him how to do such a thing. "I do not know to dance." He admitted, he is a warrior, not a dancer.

"Forgive me, your skin is soft, its hard to resist." Karzadal said softly. "WHat do you think so far? I know you haven't seen much, but i can show you more." He offers, he is curious about him though.
 
" If you can use a sword then you can dance It is no different. you just have to mirror your partner and almost hit them." He smiled down at Kaldian and lead him to the floor. " now ready let's see who will be the victor of the sparring kaldian."

Zulore never realized it but why would this man lie to him? " What do I think of here?..... It is nice and the people are friendly that i have met. I am not sure how kal feels though seeing as he seams to have his hands full of his own problems at the moment.." Zulore looked over at kal dancing with the king his face said please help me but from lore's perspective Kaldian was doing a great job for someone who never danced much.
 
"Hey, what a moment!" Kal is dragged onto the dancefloor and he looks terrified. He has never danced, there is no way that its the same as sword fighting. "Sparring huh? I guess it wouldn't so bad..."

"I see, the kingdom has more to offer. I can show you once I have free time." Karzadal want to touch him again, but he doesn't this time. He doesn't want to scare him off, and it seems that he is focused on the queen. "Have you ever danced?"
 
" See I knew you could do well." They circled the room a few times dancing in and out of other couples. " You don't need to look down so much look at me and think about what I will do next try to guess what way I will move it makes it easier." This was very enjoyable to Ellis and he loved the feel of Kaldian in his arms. Tonight would be very amusing and he hoped he could hold Kaldian close if he would let him that is. He is not a patient guy so this might be difficult he thought waiting is not his strong suit.

This statement got Zulore's attention danced? oh no he thought it would be rude to refuse him. " I have a few time's at the king's celebrations but I am not confident i make a good partner." It's not that he didn't know how to dance infact he could dance very well so long as know one was looking. Maro peeked out from under the table and looked up at them hoping for some food or attention.
 
Kal is a clumsy fool when it comes to dancing, is he really doing better? "Oh well...I think that i still need practice." He sighs as he is spinning with his dance partner. It is unreal that everyone seem to be watching, and it wants to disappear.

"Ah, but if you want to dance, just say so. What would you like to do after dinner?" He asked, he is more focused on Zulore than anything, wanting to get to know him.
 
Ellis picked Kaldain up in a swishing motion as the dance ended. He put Kal down signifying the end of the dance. " You did quit will kaldain. You sure you have never danced before?" Ellis smiled at him as he lead Kal out to the balcony. " What do you like to do in your spare time? i like to read and catch up on sleep if I can." Ellis thought if he tried talking to kaldian maybe he would relax a bit more.

" I like to read.... I also like to walk with Sumaro and the other animals and spirits around, Although I can't really do that here. oh i like to play games like chess and cards. what do you like to do" Zulore looked at him a smile on his face. he was very happy to talk about what he likes and is interested in. He reached down to pick up Maro who was sitting hoping to get petted.
 
Kal tries not to blush, did he have to lift him in the air? He is then leaded to the balcony and this is the first time he has seen it in the different view. "Uh...well, I like fishing....and crystal dowsing." He said, Kal doesn't think that his interests are that special,its something that might sound trivial to a demon.

"You like animals? We have a stable of them if you want to see them. Though, they are probably not what you are used to,so I will have to accompany you."He said.
 
"Fishing huh I haven't done that in a while it can be fun. I like flying and star gazing it is calming. It was fun to spar with you tonight " He laughed leaning against the balcony. " Next time we should use swords." He smiled a kind smile. It was a smile he only had for him.

Zulore was grinning. in fact he was so excited to here they had animals he had never seen before that he forgot where he was in the moment. His face lit up with joy as Karzadal told him that he could see them. " Can we ? " It was almost a squeak as he held Sumaro to him happily.
 
"Well, if there is free time...are you sure you want me to walk outside of the castle just to go fishing?" He asked him, but when he looked in his face, it almost feels warm and nice all of a sudden. This feels weird, and he turns away from him. "Why are you looking at me like that?" He crossed his arms, looking almost red. "It would be a mistake to cross swords with me, i am the best swordsman around...but, if you insist..."

"Yes, we can. To be honest, i would rather go there than staying at a party." Karzadal doesn't like social events anyway, he enjoys peace and Zulore is here, so he has to be with him. "We can go there now if you wish, the animals are rather friendly, but you will have to follow my instructions for your safety." he said with caution.
 
" Well you can't go by yourself yet. It won't be safe for you with out my protection. But we can if your interested in doing so." Ellis looked out toward the moon and stars seeing him make Kal uneasy made his look away for now. He hoped Kaldain would let down his guard so he could get to know him better. " Did you forget I am the demon king I am not without sword skills and I promise you a fair fight Kaldian."

Zulore was so pleased with his idea he almost jumped up from his seat. Instead he grabbed Karzadal's hand half pulling on it out of excitement. realizing what he had just done he froze in place his eyes wide with embarrassment. his ear tips were a pinkish hue along with his face.
 
"I am a warrior, I can take care of myself. Sure, I have never fought a demon before but..." He doesn't have his sword at the moment, and he thought about it. "Really? if you are asking for a fair fight, then it should be no problem. Although, i have a strange feeling..." Was this a trap? what is he planning? "Never mind,we can just do it tomorrow." He felt tired, after what happened today it has drained him.

He chuckles as he is pulled along. "Its ok, come along." He held him close as they leave the dining hall and head towards the stables. They are outside in the courtyard and there is a small enclosure where there are black horses with bat wings walking around. "These are Bicorn, what do you think? They are inversions of Unicorns that brings chaos.You can approach, if you want."
 
Ellis could tell Kaldian was tired " Yes we can do it tomorrow It wouldn't be a fair fight right now with how tired you are I would win by default. Would you like to go back to the room and rest now?" Ellis brushed Kal's hair back from his face. He looked at him fondly his golden eyes catching the moonlight giving them a slight red hue..

He had no time to think about Kaldian or the other people looking at him because all he could think about at the moment was Karzadal and how close they were walking to the stables. He could feel the heat on his face it was probably a shade of pink at this point. Once they reached the stables he saw the Pegasus with leathery bat wings. They were grazing on the red grassed ground. Zulore walked up to the fence as one or two started to walk over to him. He had always had a strange power or animals. He liked them and in someways he found their company better then peoples. The creature rested it's head on his shoulder as he reached out to pet it's velvety side. This made Sumaro curious so he pranced up to Karzadal and did the same thing but he couldn't reach his shoulder so instead he bumped his cold head into his legs.
 
Kaldain nods, but he does turn to Ellis and he could see into his eyes and it made him look down as his face begins to turn red. "Y-Yeah...let's go." The night is cool, he doesn't think standing here is a good idea. "I think that I should at least see Zulore before that...and uh...thanks for tonight."

Karzadal picks up Maro, cradling it in his arms. "You already have their trust? Amazing, there is still much to show...ahh, look up in the sky." He looks up and a large Bicorn flew down and landed in the enclosure. "That is Lord Azra, you might want to keep your distance, he is wary of strangers." Azra is larger than any of the Bicorn, trotting around and laying on the grass.
