Awkward Rooming Situation(KyaKonami and HaseoGentsu1)

Harley kissed him back, smiling as he spoke. She nodded to him, letting him take her hand as they went into the shadows and reappeared. She smiled even more as he told her about what he did, and that he would teach her. "That..sounds great.." she said, then went inside with him Mira was already sitting there on the edge of the bed, looking quite miffed. Harley went on by to look for something more appropriate as Mira got up and strode right on over to Kuren. "Thanks for leaving me here by myself last night. You're a real sweetheart." she said, clearly not pleased with him. Harley had gotten her on that one. She hadn't expected it. "What is it? Just spill."

Kuren knew that Mira was quite pissed and he felt bad about it, but he would have to deal with it later. "I know you're mad, and this probably won't make it any better." He said firmly. "My parents are in town and wish to have dinner with us. And not just any parents..." He said with a shake of his head. Kuren was having trouble bringing it up. "My parents are the Lord and and Lady of the Vampires. My father is the commander of the Shadow Vampire knights. Also...The king of Vampires. So you can easily see what I'm getting at." He said gently. His face was tinged red and he was still having trouble that he had to say it all. He didn't want to have her image of him destroyed. Especially from the point of the Shadow Vampire Knights. He shook his head and looked to his phone again. It buzzed and he read the message. "Oh fuck...." He said looking down at it. "Well, that just makes it even more interesting." He said looking up at them both. Harley even looked back at him. "Your mothers are going to be there..."

Mira's arms were crossed, but she listened to him. Her eyes widened as he spoke. "So...you've been royalty this whole time, and you never told me?" she asked him. This was unbelievable. "Look. I don't care about the Shadow..whatever thing....Hell, I barely even know what that is. Small town, remember? I just wish you could oh, I don't know, told me sooner..."

Harley came back then, in a dress with short matching shoes. "I didn't pack anything extremely fancy when I came here. I hope this is okay..." she said, looking at Kuren. Then he was looking at his phone again, and what he said made Harley's jaw drop. "Shit! She's going to kill me!" she said, leaning against the wall. "I'm so screwed..." Mira was dumbfounded. "Holy hell! If she goes back and tells dad about...Fuck!"

Kuren looked at Mira. "There's always a reason for me not telling that I'm royalty." He said, his voice shaking a bit. "I don't like the way people look at me...Or how they treat me. I wish I came from a small town. Things have been hard on me, especially with how I act. It's infuriating. I just don't like being royalty. I keep it down so no ones images of me changes because of it." Kuren looked away and knew that his fist were clenched. He took in a breath and breathed out slowly. He looked back at them calmly. Kuren noticed both of them freaking out about their mothers. He closed his eyes for a second and then looked back at them. "I promise, on the soul of a vampire, I won't let anything happen to either of you." He said firmly. That's when he sensed another presence in the room. His claws in his hands slid out and his eyes gleamed red. He swung backwards, towards the wall to be caught by a hand. And not just any hand. A female's hand.

"Now now dear, that's not the way you welcome your mother to your room." said a very feminine sounding voice. Kuren's mother came out of the wall and smiled. Kuren calmed down, his eyes returning to the shade of blue. "Why are you here Mother?" Kuren said, addressing like he should. "Oh come now, I just wished to come and greet you three and make sure no one was going to run." She said in a rather menacing tone. "Now, why don't you be a sweetie and introduce me to your roommates." She asked, letting go of Kuren's arm. Kuren sighed briefly and turned. "Mira, Harley...This is my mother. Lady Takai Shinai." He said glancing away. His mother bowed and greeted them with a smile. "Nice to finally meet the two of you. May I say that you are both very beautiful."

Mira wanted to say something, but she wasn't sure what to say and rushed over to her closet pulling out a decent dress to wear. He made a promise to them, and both girls felt a bit of relief from his words until his mother appeared. Then they both became nervous as they looked at her. Mira nodded, smiling as she faced the woman, and Harley raised off of the wall. "Nice to meet you as well, Lady Shinai.." Mira said for the both of them, Harley nodding along with her. "Nice to meet you.." she said. Then the woman was complimenting them and while Mira could smile more and say "Thank you," Harley merely flushed slightly. She was still unsure of herself and her looks. She tried her best but this wasn't just another woman. This was Kuren's mother, and she wanted her to think the best of her. Mira already seemed to be doing a way better job at this than her.

Lady Shinai walked over to the girls and looked at their dresses. "Now I seem a bit under dressed compared to these two. I wonder how your father will mind them. You know he is sort of a flirt." She said with a small giggle. Along with her menacing and fearful attitude, she had a good amount of feminine behavior. She took both of their hands. "If my husband does anything and goes to far, you can do what you want to get him off." She said with a smile. She turned and walked to over to Kuren. He was embarrassed to no end and he was hating that she was there right now. His mother came up to him and cut off all sight that he had on them. "Now now Kuren, you must not show that side to these girls." She said kissing his cheek. "I will see you all three at this address at this time. Don't be late sweetie, you know how your father can get." She said as she was enveloped in shadows. She whispered one more thing to Kuren before disappearing and it left Kuren pretty red faced. He shook his head and looked to the two of them. "I'm sorry about that. I was not expecting my mother to show up out of the blue." He said glancing at the ground. He leaned against the wall. but made sure not to wrinkle his clothing.

Harley and Mira both looked at her, laughing nervously and attempting to find a response to what she said about her husband. And in all honesty they were both relieved when she left. Mira took the dress she had in her hands and went off to finish putting it on, along with shoes. "You okay, your face seems pretty red.." Harley said, wondering what his mother had said to cause that. Mira came back then, completely dressed and looking over at him, having heard Harley's question as well.

Kuren waved the question off. "It's nothing too bad. We can talk about it later." He said gently. He shook his head and cleared his mind a bit. He couldn't believe his mother had said that to him, plus these two would never go along with it, no matter how much they brought it up. Kuren glanced up and then looked at them fully. His face lit up again. "You two are insanely beautiful." He said, a bit shocked. And then he tried to go back to being straight faced. "I'll make sure my father keeps his hands off of you two...." He said firmly. Kuren's face was a tad red.

A few miles away, at the hotel where the dinner reservations were, Takai appeared before the two ladies she had asked to be there. "Why hello there, Natalia, Kyra. It seems like your daughters are doing quite well. Are you two still okay with the dinner tonight?" She asked with a smile.

Harley and Mira really wanted to know, but it looked like he really didn't want to talk about it now, so they both dropped it. Mira grinned as he spoke about them, and Harley went back to blushing again. Mira nodded as he said he'd keep his father's hands off of them. "He should keep his hands to himself...or on your mom....well, guess you wouldn't want to see that though either" she said, laughing a bit.

Harley's mother, Natalia stood there, arms crossed. She gave Takai a curt nod, though she still wasn't pleased with this. Her daughter had obviously lied to her about her "broken phone." No doubt that money she wired her had gone on that boy. She mentally shook herself. How could she let this happen to her daughter. Keeping her away from that school might have been better. If something happened to her, if she wound up like she did....well she wouldn't be able to stand it if it did.

Kyra gave Takai a smile and a nod. "Of course. It sounds absolutely divine." she said, then sighed. "Pity, I would have brought my own husband, but he gets a tad...protective, I guess you could say, when it comes to his daughter.." she said. She of course had no problem with this.

Kuren nodded quickly. "Not a fan of seeing that kind of thing, especially once you meet my father tonight. You'll see why he acts the way he does. Unlike me, he likes the royalty thing..." He quickly cut off after that. It was going towards what his mother said to him, but he didn't wish to go down that path at that moment. "I would like to request something though..." He said quietly. Kuren looked at both of them. "I know your mothers will be there, but I wish to escort you both to the dinner. If that's ok." He said a tad firm.

Takai looked at both of them. Natalia was easily read and she knew that she did not wish for anything to happen to her daughter. Takai respected that. But then, onto Kyra, she had the note that she was fine with everything that was going on. "Now, if you don't mind, I wish to escort you two upstairs before my husband decides to instead. I think you both don't want that right now." She said with a giggle. Neither of them had met her husband yet, and both can tell that some exaggerations were here and there, but it was always fun to pick at him. Especially since he is a very attractive man, especially for his age. Lady Shinai brought them to the elevator and brought them all the way up to the dining hall. They had rented out the whole place, and it was built and lit perfectly. A very beautiful event. "I hope everything will be to your liking tonight. My husband shall be here shortly. He had a few things to clear up at home before he came. For seating arrangements, do you wish to sit by your daughters?" She asked, wondering about their opinions.

The girls were both still curious, but still let the subject drop. Then he asked to escort them both to the dinner. Mira looked over at Harley. "Whaddya say? Call a truce just for this?" she asked. "Though make no doubt, come tomorrow, truce is off." she stated. Harley nodded. "Agreed." Both girls shook on it, then looked at Kuren.

Natalia and Kyra nodded. They followed Takai to the elevator, getting in with her. "Yes, I'd very much like to. I need to ask her about some.....money misplacement." Natalia said. Kyra gave her a nod. "Of course. Have to see how my big girl's doing after all." she said with a smirk. She would have to pull her aside and get some more details later. Natalia wanted to pull Harley aside as well, but to chew her out more than anything. She was still a single mother, even after all these years.

Kuren took both of their hands after everyone was ready to go and tapped the ground with his foot. A shadow enveloped them and they were brought all the way to the front of hotel. It was a really grand hotel and Kuren knew of the dining hall at the top. He shook his head knowing that this was going to be a big thing that needed to be done. And he needed to make a good impression anyways. Both of his parents were going to be there, and both Harley's and Mira's mothers as well. It could go either way. He looked at them both, and quickly gave both of them a peck on the cheek, not trying to do anything more. "I'm sorry that it's come down to this." He said lightly. They entered the lobby before going up. "Anything I need to know before we go up?" He asked them.

Lady Shinai had brought up both mothers to the very top. They exited the elevator and walked into the main dining hall. There was a table for seven ready. "I believe your daughters may wish to sit next to my son Kuren, so I have arranged it for that occasion." She said pointing at the table. At the front, Lord Shinai would sit. To his right would be Lady Shinai. To his left, Lady Kyra would sit. Then would come Mira, Kuren, Harley, and Lady Natalia. All around the table. Lady Shinai walked to the middle and gave a sharp whistle. Three shadows appeared and the servers came out. "Where is the lord?" She asked them curtly. They all pointed to the other room that connects them all. Takai knocked on the door lightly. "My Lord, the mothers of Mira and Harley are here. Please come out soon." She said in a curt manner. "Yes dear.." A young voice answered back. Takai looked back at the mothers. "Please make yourselves comfortable. Your daughters will be here shortly, and then my lord will come out as well."

Harley and Mira looked at the hotel. Well, it certainly was a nice one. He kissed them both on the cheek, and they followed him inside. "It's fine. Not your fault.." Mira said. When he asked if there was anything he needed to know, Mira shook her head, and Harley sighed. "Not one bit. My mom's going to start on that money though. I'm sure of it. And don't be surprised if she's not very....welcoming..My dad...didn't really stick around very long, so she's got this thing about anyone not human..." she explained.

They made it up to the dining hall, and both mothers nodded to what Takai said, though Natalia was still in a less than friendly mood with them. They both sat down where they estimated they would sit, waiting on the girls to appear.

Kuren nodded at Harley. He could understand that though. "I can see why. Don't worry. I doubt anything your mother says will effect me too much. As long as neither of them tries to take you two away from me, we're good." He said with a smile. Kuren escorted both of them to the elevator and brought them up. He could feel the auras of four people at the top, especially his mother's and father's. The elevator dinged, and before they went in, he looked at them both. "Ready?" He asked. They nodded and exited the elevator. Kuren walked them into the main dining hall and easily spotted where they would be eating. At the table, he noticed both mothers. He took a deep breath and escorted both of the girls to their seats. Once they were seated, he took a step back and bowed. "Pleasure to meet you both. I am Kuren Shinai." He said firmly. He stood back up and noticed his mother smiling.

Lady Shinai watched the three of them walk in together and giggled. "Of course he would do something like this." She thought to herself. But now with Kuren's aura in the room, the Lord should be making his appearance soon. The double doors opened on the other side of the room. A dark figure stood in the middle of them, wings and all. After a couple seconds, the wings disappeared and a man walked out. Lord Shinai, or Kuren's father, walked out and bowed. "Thank you for all coming to this meal. I'm very honored by your presence." He said. Once he was farther into the light, his features could be seen. He was a bit taller than Kuren, pure black hair, nice facial features, and all around nice build. A bit thin and quite attractive.

Harley and Mira allowed him to escort them to the elevator, standing silently inside as they went up. They both nodded to him and headed out with Kuren, seeing their mothers as soon as they walked into the main dining hall. Kyra waved at Mira while Natalia had a neutral face on. But Harley knew that was just the one she got before she let loose on her for something. Both girls got to the table with him, sitting down. Kyra smiled. "Oh, it's a pleasure to meet you" she said to him, smiling. She already approved based on his looks. Natalia nodded slightly. "Pleasure.." she said in a neutral tone. Harley sighed slightly, barely glancing at her mother. "Mom, I-" she was cut off by her mother's hand raising up. "We'll talk about it later." she said, but her look said it all. She was disappointed in her.

When the double doors opened, all four ladies' attention went to them as Lord Shinai came out. Kyra laughed lightly. "Oh it was nothing! My husband was a bit miffed at first, but I calmed him down. Didn't need him here with his temper. Luckily Mira didn't inherit that." she said, and Mira grinned. "Yeah, dad's a bit of a hot head." she said.

Kuren nodded sensing that Lady Kyra approved and Lady Natalia did not so much. Harley's expressions pretty much confirmed his suspicion. Lady Shinai showed Kuren where to sit, and he was right in the middle of both Mira and Harley. "Great, easy to be picked on by everyone." He thought to himself, but kept a neutral face the entire time. Once everyone was seated, Lord Shinai looked at the mothers and daughters. "Such beautiful women sit before us. Beautiful daughters and gorgeous mothers. Lady Kyra, your husband is a lucky man, I'm sure of it." He said graciously. He was immediately jabbed by his wife. He shooed the hand away and nodded. He chuckled lightly and turned his look upon his son. "Now Kuren, where to begin.." He said in a very firm manner. He was getting serious now.

The first course was served and once everyone was into the appetizers, Kuren shifted slightly. The stares were pretty penetrating by all four adults. Kuren looked up and noticed that Mira and Harley were a bit shaken as well. He took a breath. "Lady Kyra, Lady Natalia, I would like to apologize first, and I wish to take the any blame on your daughters as well." He said gently and softly. His father looked at him, his eyes squinting. His mother had apologetic eyes, she didn't want Kuren to be in this sort of situation.

Kyra wasn't sure how to respond especially since he was jabbed by his wife. When all attention went to Kuren, both mothers looked at him, though Kyra was of course the more relaxed and accepting one. Natalia kept her same expression. Both girls were nervous, Harley moreso than Mira. The first course came, and they went to the appetizers, the gears turning in Kyra's head as she glanced over at Kuren, Natalia trying to figure out how to get Harley out of this situation.

Mira was digging into her food as usual, though she was still nervous with the way everyone was acting. Harley picked, not really eating much at all. She was too absorbed in her own faults. When Kuren spoke up, both mothers were silent for a second before Kyra broke the ice. She laughed a bit. "It's alright. You guys are young after all.." she said, a bit light-hearted about the matter. Natalia sighed. "I can accept the apology, but Harley's blame is her own." she said, then fell silent once more. Her mood made it clear she didn't want to negotiate the matter.

Lord Shinai grinned and chuckled at the matter at hand. "What a mess you've gotten into, my son. And the trouble you have brought upon dear Harley...." He said, not finishing his statement. Kuren glared at his father. He knew that they were playing at something, that was confirmed. But Kuren knew that he was right. Even though Lady Kyra was okay with it, Lady Natalia was not. The body language showed that too.

The second course came out and the tensions were still rising. It got worse when Lord Shinai began to speak. "So I hear that a competition is being held right now..What do you think of that Lady Kyra, Lady Natalia? And advice for your daughters. I know it may seem like this is a bad thing, but if Kuren chooses one of them, that family is given a good amount of power in the world...It can.." He was cut off by Kuren slamming his hand on the table. "That's enough father! We don't need the nonsense that is coming out of your mouth.." Kuren said coldly. His father's aura greatly intensified. "Kuren, you know the punishment for interrupting me...." He said firmly. Kuren looked away. Then, his mother spoke up. "You know, everyone knows a good way to stop all competition...Vampires actually do still have polygamy in their areas..." She said with a coy smile. "Mother! Seriously..." Kuren said, putting his face in his hand.

Harley glanced over at Lord Shinai as he spoke, then at Kuren. He clearly wasn't happy about the situation or with his father right now, but she didn't say anything. Neither did Mira. The second course came, and just when Harley was starting to relax slightly, the competition was brought up, and she could feel her mother stiffening beside her. She was angry, and she knew it. Mira was pretty nervous too once it was brought up, glancing at her mother who gave her a reassuring look. Then Kuren's hand slammed down on the table and both girls jumped slightly.

Things weren't getting any better anytime soon it seemed. When Kuren's mother spoke up, both girls flushed, then looked away. Mira finally spoke up. "With all do respect, we already talked it over. Honestly, Harley and I barely get along now." she said. "So, that would pose a few problems.." she said. Harley glanced over at Mira, then nodded. Despite their clear differences and distaste for each other, they agreed on this at least.

Kuren sat down and kept his glance away from his father. "Sorry about my disturbance..." He said lightly. His mother glanced at him and then at the daughters. She smiled. "It was only a thought. But nevertheless, that is quite honorable, don't you think." She said with a smile. She looked over to Natalia and gave her a gentle smile. "I know it's not my grounds to say anything, but your daughter is old enough to decide things. But besides that, I know my son has done wrong as well. We asked all of you to come so we can see what has happened so far...not to cause distress between families. For that, I deeply apologize to both of you." She said, lowering her head. The queen of vampires was apologizing to them. It was a first seen by Kuren ever. She was never at fault. Kuren was a bit surprised.

Lord Shinai leaned back in his chair. He needed to see things as they were. He was a young lord, but young at his age, well, let's not go into his age. He wondered something. "Lady Natalia, if I may ask, what is wrong with your daughter seeing Kuren?" He asked gently.

Natalia was a bit surprised when Lady Shinai apologized to her, but nodded. "It's quite alright.." she said, and Kyra nodded, smiling. "No need to apologize. Everything's fine by me!" she said, giving Mira a wink, which made the girl a bit embarrassed. Harley was still in a bit less than cheerful mood though.

Natalia sighed as Lord Shinai asked her the question she knew was coming but was wary of answering. "As you obviously noticed she's only a half demon. That would be her father's doing of course." she said, her glance casting down towards the table before looking back again. "Gavin......didn't exactly stick around very long. Now, I'm not accusing your son of anything in the slightest but.." she trailed off, then picked back up. "I don't see this 'competition' as being exactly healthy. And this doesn't have anything to do with that reasoning, but I am quite curious as to where the money I wired her went." she said, her gaze resting on her daughter. Harley flushed and glanced away. "I...kind of....rented a hotel room...." she admitted, looking down. Natalia's eyes widened, then looked away from her. Unsure of what to say at the moment.

Lady Shinai put her hands together and smiled at Harley. "That was quite bold of you young lady. But I can see that your mother is just worried of your well being. I can see a lot of love in that family. I wish we had some of that. But, on a different note, she was honest about it." She said with a genuine smile. She went back to eating and looked around to her husband. Lord Shinai's eyebrows went up when he heard it, but smiled all the same. "If need be, we can pay back everything if you see a cause for it." He said, offering to Natalia.

Kuren looked around to finally seeing a better mood in the room. She turned to Lady Natalia and couldn't help but feel really bad about all of this. He immediately turned to his mother and gave her a look. She glanced his way and smiled. Snapping her fingers, a barrier appeared around her husband. He didn't like it, but couldn't do anything about it. Kuren looked back at Lady Natalia. He took a breath first, exhaled and then gained her eye contact. "No matter how much time goes by, I feel horrible about this whole 'competition'. I am truly sorry that I can't choose right now, but I can honestly say that I am in love with your daughters. I just can't let it by me that in the end, one of them will be picked and the other not. And by that logic, one will be saddened. I hate thinking of that outcome." He said glancing down. "But I will promise this...The one I choose..I will never let her down...I will never allow her to be sad in any way other than joy. I won't let her become anything she doesn't wish to be." He said firmly, looking back up. "And the one that I can't be with....I'll help as much as I can to find a future for her that fits her completely. I don't go back on promises....Whatever needs to be done that you are okay with what your daughters are doing, please tell me." He said firmly.

Harley wasn't quite sure how to respond, but she did look up a bit at Lady Shinai, then at her mother as Lord Shinai offered to pay back the money. Natalia was surprised as well and shook her head. "No, that's not necessary. I just wish she hadn't lied to me to get it..." she said. Then there was a barrier put around Lord Shinai, and Kuren began speaking. Natalia looked at him, as did Kyra and both girls.

Yes, the girls knew he wasn't fond of the competition, but they both knew it was what they wanted to do until he could choose. They couldn't go the polygamy route, there'd be way too much jealousy there and they knew their fighting over time with him would be stressful. It was their whole point in doing this. Kyra sighed. "I'm honestly okay with the whole thing." she said, Natalia sighed, closing her eyes for a moment and processing everything. When she did open them, she wasn't looking at anyone in particular. "I really hope you mean that when you say you don't go back on promises....Because I'm holding you to it.." she said. Obviously, she was still slightly conflicted about the whole thing, but she was at least more accepting than before.

Kuren looked at both Lady Kyra and Lady Natalia. He was glad that the body language said that Lady Kyra didn't care and Lady Natalia had some heart in it now too. He smiled and bowed in his chair. "Thank you...And yes, I meant it." He said gently. He turned to his mother. She smiled. "On that note, let's release the barrier." She tapped the barrier and it fell. "What was that for?! I saw you all speaking, but I couldn't hear it....Is it that secret that I can't." He said, jokingly putting a whiny tone to it. Lady Shinai looked at him and glared slightly. "Yes. Now shush, here comes the final course before dessert." She said with a smile to the others.

The third course came out, and while the mothers were busy seeing what it was, Kuren took the opportunity to take both Mira's and Harley's hand and squeezing them lightly under the table. He smiled at the two of them and looked back up, releasing their hands so suspicion isn't caused.

The girls were more relaxed now, and when the next course came out, all four women started on it, though Harley and Mira were both relieved to feel Kuren taking their hands and squeezing them lightly. Harley especially. He released them soon after, but it was to be expected. They didn't expect anything else from him with the situation at hand.
