Adventures of a Novice and a Myth | [ Kɪᴛᴇ & Bᴀᴇ ]

Graham couldn't help but feel soothed as soon as Baeleaf took his hand. They had stopped the bratty trainer from destroying the hive. The defense was a success, but he still held contempt in his heart, and his new friend helped drive it out. His hands were somewhat swollen from the battle, and the knuckles on his left hand were red from the punch, but not bleeding. Further inspection showed that wet, dark spots hand appeared on the wrappings, no doubt reopened wounds due to the fight.

"I'm glad you're alright, Queenie." Graham said as he forced a smile. "I couldn't have done it without Baeleaf though, so be sure to thank her."

With those words, Graham turned and intended to leave, but stayed, still feeling Baeleaf's touch on his hand.

Baeleaf’s features twisted into a frown as her molten eyes scanned his body. There were bruises already forming and his knuckles were red and swollen from his fight with the Lucario. Not to mention that his sides where she’d previously injured him began to open up once more. Wincing at the damage and feeling a pang of guilt and regret for her own actions, Baeleaf reluctantly let Graham go and watch as he turned to leave.

The Vespiquen chirped and Baeleaf offered a smile to the big Pokémon as she buzzed her added thanks for protecting the hive.

Baeleaf nodded in return, whispering to the queen that they’d return soon to check on them again, before she hurried to Graham’s side once more. She was worried for his injuries, especially the ones that had opened up once more, and she reached down to hold his fingers once more. Gently, she coaxed him along the path back towards his home. “I can..help. Fix.”

Graham's head was a mixture of emotions, and he needed time to sort them out. Baeleaf's hands upon his soothed him more. The contact felt nice, like someone cared. He couldn't help but feel the tug of a smile at his lips.

"Huh? You have a healing ability?" Graham questioned, shifting his thoughts to his new friend. "Wait, would that work on a human?"

He followed along, gently grasping at Baeleaf's small hands, watching her lead the way.

With the hive now free from any immediate danger, Baeleaf felt comfortable leading Graham back to his home to tend to his injuries. “Uh-huh.” It was something she’d found she possessed on accident after she’d run from the lab. There hadn’t been mny opportunities for her to use it— and she was hoping it would be enough to heal his wounds.

Stopping for a moment, Baeleaf blinked and looked back at Graham. “Oh..um, du—dunno..” she’d never used it on a human before, just another Pokémon. “Can try..?” She offered, gently guiding him back to his hut once more.

It wasn’t until they were almost back to his home that she noticed they were holding hands quite firmly. Initially she thought to remove her hand from his grip and continue walking. But...the contact wasn’t...completely unwanted. His hand was warm.

His hut was in disarray from his earlier, erratic panic. The contents that had been neatly set up on the shelves littered the floor and she tiptoed through the mess, though the space was still small and she had little room to move and work in. Even though she didn’t know his method for organizing, she could help pick the items from the floorboards. Releasing his hand from hers, she shuffled awkwardly, trying to stay out of the way. Her eyes were glued to the seeping red underneath the wrappings of his arms, frowning deeply.

Graham permitted Baeleaf to lead him. Her skin on his felt nice, warm, inviting. It made him forget the open wounds on his arms currently bleeding through his wrappings. The hardened survivalist had stopped the attack with his new friend's help, but it felt hollow. Was it really a victory?

Graham almost laughed in disbelief. He had completely forgotten the mess he made. The door still laid on the floorboards of his hut, surrounded by his trinkets. In no particular order, because there wasn't one to begin with, Graham set each trinket upon an empty space, tidying the mess quickly, the shattered remains of the red and purple pokéball being the last trinket he set on a shelf. Cautiously, he picked up the actual door he had charged through. The door itself was fine, but the hinges were ruined. He'd need to make replacements when he had the time, satisfied, for the time being, by simply setting the door back into place. His old wooden greaves and lay remaining knuckle-duster found free space on a shelf quickly, but Graham's wrappings, now almost completely soaked in blood, were removed with much more caution.

Graham took a seat on his makeshift bed. The heavy, blood-damp cloth was slowly removed, revealing scarred, bloody skin and the bleeding, reopened wounds. The very same wounds Baeleaf had caused.

"Don't worry about it, Baeleaf." Graham's pleasant voice tried to ease any stress she might still have about their first meeting. "We've got plenty of honey if your ability doesn't work. Besides that, i'm sure Queenie will have us set for life on honey after what just happened. Let's give that ability a shot though."

The many different trinkets on the floorboards caught Baeleaf’s attention once more, but she busied herself with placing them back on the shelf rather than get involved in inspecting each and every one. There would be time later for that— and Graham was still bleeding. He seemed to be in bad shape, the bloodied wrappings of his arms were deep crimson and nearly dripping with the blood that had spilt. She hadn’t wanted him to over exert himself with how badly his arms looked, so when he collapsed back onto his makeshift bed, she frowned and settled on her knees beside him. The door was still off it’s hinges but the hut had been cleaned for the most part.

The sight of those open wounds— wounds she had left on his skin— made her wince. “But..” Baeleaf began to protest. His voice was sweet, but she could hear something else in his tone. Was he upset? Worried? Angry? He was right, Queenie and the hive would no doubt want to pay Graham back for all he’d done for them. Honey would be in no short supply; a thought that made her mouth water. “...okay.” Her fingers brushed his arm, delicate over the open wounds as she assessed them. While her healing ability had only ever been used once, she knew it did work. For a human like Graham and the wounds he had, though, she was unsure of how potent the ability would be.

There was no better way to find out than to try. Baeleaf scooted closet to his form and frowned, holding one arm in her hand while the other hovered above. A vine formed on the length of her arm and from the end, a bright pink flower bloomed. The petals opened up and a green dust gently floated down from the flower, coating his arm and settling over his wounds. After she was satisfied at the amount, she lifted his other arm and the remaining dust from the flower decorated the appendage.

Nervous, Baeleaf watched the wounds carefully. It should be working now... Worried she was about to cause him more bad than good, Baeleaf’s orange eyes darted between his arms and his face; searching for signs of discomfort or anger. “Gra-yam..?” She voiced, brows furrowed as she sat in worry.

Graham's wounds stitched themselves closed almost immediately. He sat in wonder, having never seen an ability like this work on a human. All the bruising and exhaustion he had felt just a moment ago disappeared. He felt amazing, and something else. Graham wanted to thank Baeleaf, but he couldn't help but stare at her, take in everything about her. His gaze grew soft, his lips parted slightly, and his breathing deepened. A deep blush filled his face and traveled down his body, engorging his manhood almost immediately. The hardened survivalist felt a small spell of dizziness take him, while his temperature rose.

He wanted Baeleaf, more than anything.

Graham launched from his bed at the anomalous girl, pinning her to the ground with his weight, while his hands gripped her wrists tightly. He pinned her wrists to either side of her head, while his dark gaze fixed itself on her enchanting, molten eyes. Feeling the building saliva in his mouth, he swallowed hard, breathing through his nose for a moment. Her scent was amazing. Unique to her alone, and yet... Sweet. Graham was panting now, his lidden, brown eyes running over Baeleaf's features, while his hardened, clothed sex pressed her body without regard. He didn't have words for how he felt, but wanted to show the wonderful girl under him.

Baeleaf averted her gaze from Graham’s as she watched his wounds close up. His skin stitched itself back together, leaving no trace of the previous damage— barely even a scar to remember it by, if she was looking close enough. The bright bloom of petals that had dispersed the dust over his skin slowly started to brown and fall from the vine of her arm, which in turn fused back into her skin. The worry that she’d caused him harm in the process only grew when she returned to staring back up at him. The deep intakes of his breath, the red flush to his skin, it made her panic and she shuffled, lips parted to ask if he was alright.

And then the world spun.

A sharp gasp ripped from her throat, eyes immediately screwed shut as her back hit the floor and his body pressed against hers. Baeleaf’s initial attempt to free herself was met with resistance. Golden eyes opened and her head tilted to each side to see his hands holding her against the floor, secure around her wrists, giving her barely any room to shift her upper body. The hard muscles and contours of his body pressed tight to her form; her own chest rising and falling heavily with her breathing as she flicked her gaze around. “Gra..uah?” Something else, something hard, was pressing against her— Baeleaf blinked, shifting and squirming beneath him, questioning in her mind not only his behavior but what...he was doing? What was that...? Opening her mouth to speak again, she finally looked at him, eyes holding his gaze and swallowing hard. “...ah...?” The words wouldn’t come out— just sounds— as Baeleaf squirmed.

Graham couldn't believe what he just did- what he was now doing. His gaze never left those lovely orange orbs staring up at him, while his hands released Baeleaf's wrists, settling on the wooden floor on either side of her. He swallowed again, taking in her sweet scent. His breaths were heavy and his eyes were filled with desire. The hardened survivalist could feel his mind swimming, torn between reason and lust. Graham wanted to protect Baeleaf, but he also wanted to fuck her, make her his own. The conflicting feelings froze him in place over his lovely friend.

"Y-you're beautiful..." Graham's impulsive compliment came out at almost a whisper. "You're lovely beyond words..."

Her throat was dry, eyes wide as she stared upwards. Baeleaf couldn’t break her gaze away from his eyes, lips parted as she tried to in vain to form more words. There was something on his eyes that just shook her. With her wrists now free, instinct took over and she placed her palms against his shoulders. “Gr—Gra...” her own breath was short, squeaky with her confusion and worry for him. Why was he like this? Why has she caused him such a change? Her power?

Those words..she didn’t know what they meant but she flushed all the same. The tone of Graham’s voice made her throat constrict, her heart hammer in its cage. Fingers delicately curled against his form. Heat rose in her cheeks as she pressed up with her hands, against his shoulders gently. “Wh-what...why...?”

Baeleaf's pushing almost snapped Graham from his trance. He still felt hot and needy toward her, but also a deep embarrassment. He pulled himself away, kneeling before her. His groin was still hot with desire, but the survivalist did his best to ignore it.

"I-I'm sorry, I didn't- I just-" He stammered, unable to even think clearly. "I-I'll be back!"

Graham stood quick, yet awkwardly, and limped quickly from his hut, trying to readjust his uncomfortable situation within his pants. He knelt by the lake and splashed his face with cool water, trying to wake himself from his stupor.

“..H-haa..?” She blinked, curious, ever bright orange eyes glued to him. It took her a moment from the time between him sitting back up and fleeing for her to register ...or try to register what had happened. He had seemed flushed, pained in a way, and it made her worried and fearful she’d done something wrong. Not to mention the heat that radiated from him struck something in her, too, something she couldn’t place.

Her eyes raked his form, still unable to voice any words or concerns as he sputtered his apologies and scurried off with even less of an explanation. Now sitting up, Baeleaf watched Graham’s retreating form for as long as she was able to before he disappeared out of sight.

The flush that had settled onto her skin stayed, warming not only her cheeks, but her belly too, and seeping into her bones with feeling she had never experienced before. It took her a moment to stand and gain her balance; legs weak and shaky, before debating on running after him or staying until he returned.

Graham had finally calmed himself. He sat near the edge of the lake, his head drenched with cold water, while his shirt was damp from the excess dripping from his face and hair. He felt guilt in the pit of his stomach for the way he acted. If Baeleaf never wanted to see him again, he'd understand. A bit of fear flashed within him for a moment at the thought of never seeing her again. He needed to apologize and clear the air between them.

With purpose, Graham stood up and marched back to his hut, embarrassment and butterflies filling him with every step he took toward his mysterious friend. Upon entering the hut, he took a deep breath, trying to assemble his thoughts before he spoke. He could remember how much of a sputtering mess he was earlier. The survivalist knelt down next to Baeleaf, trying his best to summon his kind, gentle demeanor.

"I'm sorry about earlier, Baeleaf." Graham said pleasantly. "I lost control and it was rude of me. I hope you can forgive me."

Her mind was a mess.

After Graham left, she’d slumped forward, hands on the floorboards and head bent forward. What happened? That wasn’t Graham she had seen— it was but he had been different. She couldn’t break her mind away from the way he’d looked; flushed, gaze hot, breathing heavy. He’d looked ill. What had she done?

Baeleaf tried not to dwell too much— he’d left in such a hurry she didn’t have the change to stop him. She didn’t want to follow him. Beside that, her legs kept her glued to his makeshift bed. It smelled like him, the him from the other day, and it calmed her erratic heart.

His boots on the floorboard surprised her into looking up, swallowing hard at his visage now free of the earlier emotion. He was back to normal. A slow, soft smile crossed her features and she watched him take spot beside her. “Control?” She tilted her head, confused. Control over...? “I’m,” her fingers reached to touch his skin, but she was worried she’d injure or cause some kind of harm to him. “...glad? That you are, uhm,” her lids fell over large orange eyes, then to his face. “better.”

Graham gently grasped Baeleaf's fingers and brought them to his face. Soft, warm, pleasant. He closed his eyes for a moment, relief washing over him. An orange-pink hue bathed the pair in evening light and cast the interior in a pleasant glow.

"Thanks to you, I'm quite alright, my friend." Graham's pleasant tone was back. "You did amazing work today. How about some honey? You can have as much as you want."

The bright smile that Baeleaf had been holding in broke to the surface once his fingers took hold of her own and brought them to his face. Her fingertips brushed over his skin, not moving too much and content to feel his warmth beneath her touch. Her attention was wholly on him and yet she resisted the urge to cup his cheek with her free hand, only to give in moments later. ‘m glad we helped.” She nodded to him, feeling pleased with herself that they helped Queenie and her hive.

Her thumb brushed his cheek and for a moment she forgot everything around her— until he mentioned honey, of course. Her palm pressed against his cheek a little more, “Yes!” The excitement lace her voice, still quiet but present in her facial expression. Reluctant to move away from him but eager for the honey, she looked around for some of the tools he often used to stir up the jar and warm the sweet, golden treat.

Graham chuckled at Baeleaf's excitement. It was certainly contagious. His own joy showed on his handsome face.

"I'll collect the deadwood for the fire. Grab the ladle and prepare the honey." Graham said as he stood, departing from the hut after setting the door gently aside.

After waving to a pair of nearby bidoofs, the hardened survivalist set about picking up dried, dead branches, breaking them down to fit in his fire-pit. The evening light filtering through Eterna Forest's canopy was truly a lovely sight to behold. Pillars of orange and pink hues accented by lush greenery. Graham found himself relaxed by the view, standing and staring with an arm-full of tinder.

The Pokégirl felt her heartbeat thump a beat more in her chest at his charming smile. His visage was pleasing to her eye, but that smile of his... She felt lost in it. Her fingers fell from his face and she nodded her response to him, orange orbs watching as he stood and retreated from the house once more.

Baeleaf watched until she no longer saw him. A delicate smile pulled at the corners of her lips as she looked on and it carried as she found and set aside his utensils for honey. Settled on her knees on the floorboards, Baeleaf nearly set everything aside and held the jar of honey, cradled against her form as she enjoyed the warm rays of descending sun that filtered from the window. She allowed herself a few moments to take deep inhales before she set everything up like Graham had the other night.

Graham returned through the door, reminded of why he loved this forest, his face a clear sign of his now-content nature. He skillfully arranged the tinder before lighting it, ensuring the honeypot was a proper distance for heating. As he sat, watching the small fire, realization crept upon him. Tomorrow, he needed to work at the power-plant again. With all that happened over the weekend, the survivalist had completely forgotten his job. His barely-audible breath escaped in the form of a heavy sigh, disappointment evident on his face. He wanted to forget about the human world, but maintaining his necessities and protecting the forest were two things he couldn't do without a steady flow of money.

"Listen, Baeleaf, I uh." Graham tried to articulate. "Tomorrow, I have to leave the forest for most the day. I'll be back as soon as I can though. You can use the hut as much as you need, okay?"
