Drakken was patrolling around the Southern boarder. The town he had been put in charge of by his father was near the southern boarder of the kingdom. Currently the Woodelves of the south where at war with the dark elves. Many bandits, War parties and people fleeing war had been coming close or trying to pass through the southern boarder taking advantage of the Chaos. Though soon as his army was patrolling the boarder a Neko came up to his party and told him of an assault on a near by village by a group of bandits. Even if they where a different race, there where still his people.

He rushed into the Neko Village with his army quickly dispacthing the Bandit group. Though soon he saw a young Neko girl who was trying to protect some of the young ones. It seemed she was soon Injured. That is when Drakken ran in and shoot a burst of fire magic at the bandit quickly turning him to ash. He then got off his horse and rushed to the aid of the Neko girl. "Its going to be okay I am going to heal you" He told her as he quickly began to use his magic to heal her bleeding side. He wasn't a healing specialist by any means, but his magic would keep her from bleeding out until they got back to flames rest.

When the Neko girl woke up she would find herself in a very nice room laying in a comfy bed. Wearing a nice gown and her wound wrapped up and treated. A human maid would be sitting on the chair next to her sleeping.
 
Ginger finally opened her eyes, it was to take notice that she was no longer in the village an she was no longer bleeding from the injury that caused her to black out. She didn't know where the youngsters had been taken off to. She only hoped that she managed to save them from being killed like so many others she had seen falling to those who had attacked them. Her eyes finally glanced over to the chair to see that a maid was sleeping next to her. He walked through the door with a plate of food, surely the whole room would fill up with the scent of food. "Good morning, well I should say good afternoon. You have been out for over a day. I was worried you would never wake young one." Drakken replied to her as he walked in. This time he wasn't wearing a armor but a gold and red royal robe along with his crown.

"I am glad there were survivors I was afraid that there might not be any at all. At least not the way the attack was going. I'm guessing my injury might have had something to do with that. By the way my full name is Ginger Heart Fyre." But then she briefly smiled at his demand that she eat the food he had brought to keep her health up.

He was happy to see her eating up the food. As she did he sat on the bed next to her with a big smile on his face. "I am happy you like the food. I have hired some workers to build you and your people somes home outside of town. I am sorry but it seems your village was burned to the ground." He told her.

Draken was just being himself and didn't even notice he had come off as bossy. He was merely trying to do what was best for Ginger. Though as he watched her eat his eyes began to move up and down her body. He didn't want to tell her but while the priestiest was treating her wounds he was in the room as well, even for her clothing change. Now that he thought about it he felt like a bit of a creep. Though it was only out of concern, wanting to make sure the Neko he had properly healed her.
 
Ginger eventually finished the wonderful meal, and took a sip of what was still in the cup on the tray in front of her, before she spoke. "I am thankful for that, though sad that the place I grew up in ended up being burned to the ground. I suppose my parents remains got turned into ash because of the fire too." She was going to miss her parents. True they might not have always had a perfect life but her father had always had a kind word and in some ways he had allowed his humor to slip up every now and then.
Then she shifted a bit when she felt his gaze travel up and down her body. " I guess I will have to figure what to do with the rest of my life once I am fully healed and able to get out of this bed." That and she was going to have to help look after the young orphans who had no family left. "Please you don't have to say my full name, you can just call me Ginger, I only gave you my full name because you mentioned yours. Drakken nodded to her a replied saying "I am sorry I did not arrive sooner, if you want I could send some troops and they can find any remains. He understood that having the remains of her family would be important to her and her people so if his men didn't do a good enough job he would make sure they did this time.

"Well I will do my best to make sure you and your people find work and have a way of life. It is my responsibility as Prince." He informed her trying to help with her concerns. Though as she mentioned the food Drakken was a little taken back "Well Forgive me Lady Ginger, I did not mean to impose" he replied to her comment.
 
Ginger only smiled at how taken aback he was at her comment of the food. "I was only teasing you. I did think you came off a tad bossy like when you told me I should eat the food for my health. I think it would be just best to build head stones as a memorial for those of us who probably arn't going to able to look at the remains of what was once our familes. After listening to her Drakken frowned at her reply, it seemed she didn't know proper manners when speaking to nobles. Though after a second he decided to swallow his pride before replying to her "Well I am sorry if I came off as a little bossy but I was only trying to do what is best for you. Then I will make sure to have a mason provide head stones for your people. In regards to you and your people I will do everything I can to make sure what is left of your village has a place to stay. But if eventually there is a way to make that better I think it would help a great deal in the long run. I know it would seeing as how we all had to live before. But work will take our minds off what happened at least I know it will for me." She would grieve later when the headstones were built. "That will help a great many of us that are left from the village when I am well enough to get out of bed I will go make my rounds to visit the others to see for myself that they are okay." If we had been able to defend ourselves better we might not have lost so many people. But I suppose being a peaceful village had its rewards and cons do, it certainly didn't help me to not speak my mind to a noble. I can't forget hes the prince its just that I've never been in his presence before. Come to think of it I don't think we ever saw him enter the village at all. "You should know some of us really don't know how to speak to nobles least of all me, so if I am lacking in manners you'll have to forgive my upbringing. Ginger glanced at him slightly picking up on what he was telling her. "From what your saying is me and the kids that I tried to save by protecting them are the only ones who actually made it out alive. Every one else didn't manage to make it out that they are gone... I knew there were going to be heavy casualties because of how peaceful my village was. But I didn't think it would be that bad. Oh don't worry in front of others I will try to behave with some decorum at least that much I can do. My parents didn't lack for my education on that area." The green of her eyes glittered with emotions that she didn't let fall, there was anger, sorrow from all the loss of the people she knew. But she had to be strong for the kids they would need that from her. "Even so they can't be on their own most of them will probably have nightmares from whats happened." True there might be a few that could work, that may be the oldest of the kids she had saved but the younger ones would need some one around them at least until they were old enough to be on their own.
 
Drakken nodded at her reply saying "Yes that is what I am saying. I am sorry the we didn't protect your people." As he saw her eyes glitter with emotion Drakken couldn't help but feel terrible. I promise I will do my best to make sure that things like this don't happened in the future." He then stood straight up and said "Yes, the houses we are building for you and the children is in farmland. It should be a nice place for you to grow crops and raise animals for food. I am sure you will raise them properly"
 
Ginger swallowed slightly at the sight of seeing the prince applogize to her, for not protecting her people when they needed it. "If you hadn't come when you did, I wouldn't be here and neither would the kids. So you did protect us, even if you couldn't save every one. But things like that have to stop or it will only get worse and more people will lose what we have today. I am sure the farmland will bring us the much needed peace and tranquality we need after this whole ordeal." But she doubted that she would ever be able forget what had occured or that she and the kids had survived when others hadn't it would be rough on them. "Just make sure that the next village doesn't suffer what my people did because of all the fighting, it has to end or more people are going to get hurt."
 
"Thank you for your kind words, and I am happy to know you look forward to moving into your new home. In regards to preventing further death I have already taken measures. We have increased boarder security and threatened to get involved with the war if this kind of thing continues." Drakken informed Ginger. With that he clapped his hands a couple times and a maid quickly came running into the room afterwords. She bowed and ask what needed to be done, then Drakken replied "Please take Lady Ginger's plates to the Kitchen and inform the children that Lady Ginger is up and they can visit. Just make sure they know to be gentle."

With that the maid left and soon the children where rushing in to see Ginger

"The work will be hard, but I think it will have its own self rewards, the only things I am not familiar with are the raising of live stock, though I suppose I am going to have to learn as I go along.
