"It is customary to bow to your Lord before speaking." He stated. Idri snarled and thrashed under the chains, trying to dig himself out.
 
"What has possessed one of my youngest to tame the deadliest beast in my domain?" He asked curiously, "What benefit do you gain from owning him, darling Sapphira?"
 
"It was at first, a means to my safety.. after that, I'm not sure.. he's affectionate, he's a real darling.." she said, honestly.
 
He couldn't help but chuckle. "It is not real love, my sweet. Only the runes in your band." He stated amusedly. Idri rumbled irately. That wasn't true. His feelings for her were real. Weren't they?
 
"I could remove the band and show you, my lord." She said. "But that's not really why I'm here, is it?" She asked. "And please forgive my tone, Ethniu and his gaggle of children have been harassing me about this also. I truly do not care if it is just the runes, because he has so far treated me far better than anyone here but you, my lord.."
 
The massive horse moved closer to her, "I brought you here not to chastise or belittle you for your choice. I merely wished to know if there was a reason. He is as old as I am, my darling. Equally as deadly and as powerful. I am barely a match for him should he wish to unleash his fury as he has for eons. I wish you safe, is all. He has killed so many of my darlings...I wish not to add your name to the list.."
 
She made a noise. "Then let me practice runes.. I know he will not harm me.. he has not harmed me in all this time, ehy would he start now?" She asked.
 
"He knows no else, child...all he knows to do is fight and breed. Anything else has been lost to the beastial form he has taken here." He said.
 
"I have seen otherwise, my lord.. I am not saying that all hellbeasts are like this, but I can say for certain that he is different.." she said.
 
The horse tilted its head slightly before exhaling gently, "Very well...you may continue to practice your runes." He said and the chains slid off Idri. He rose and shook himself before moving closer to Sapphira. "I will order Ethniu to leave you be. And if he doesn't, well, your pet has a fresh snack."
 
She smiled. "Thank you so much, my lord.. I promise to let Ethniu know.." she said with a smirk. She moved to hug Idri gently. "Also will I be able to advance my studies anytime soon..?" She asked.
 
"Mmm..." He made a noise, "Let's see how those runes go first, darling...then we'll see about taking you up from fledgling.."
 
She smiled and helped Idri up, and stopped. "My lord, may Idri stay with me..? Or is he to stay in the wastes..?"
 
"Excellent, thank you my lord.." she said. She moved to take Idri through the city to her home. "Come, Idri.. this is home now, you'll be staying with me.." she smiled.
 
He wanted to look around, to see what home looked like, but it smelled the same as everything else. It was ok, he could live with it.
 
She helped him into their home and made sure that he had a large, comfortable bed. It was larger than hers, but she made sure he was comfy.
 
It was nice, having a soft thing. Much better than laying on brimstone. And it smelled a lot better too. He could get used to this.
 
She made sure he was well fed, and always taken care of. She just needed to work on helping him be not so pent up. But the dilemma was that he would kill anything that wasn't her.
 
Anything that came near his new territory was met with hostility. He was incredibly overprotective of everything.
