"No, baby..." She shook her head and kissed him, "No, not at all...I'll fix this, ok? Dad isn't a huge jerk, he's so nice, he just wants to be sure he can trust you...it's his own insecurities..."
"I love you, Theo..." She said softly, resting her head under his chin, "No one is gonna change that...not mom, not dad...he could rip the world apart to try and keep us apart but I'll never leave your side..."
After the party, Magnara was changing out of his suit in the bedroom. He had finished his whole emergency pack in that one night, which he knew he would regret later. He planned to take the couch, knowing how angry Ayani was with him. He was more stubborn and cruel than he had ever been in his life. How could he call Ayani such an insensitive name? She didn't deserve his ire.
"Your temper flares up every time anyone says anything remotely opposing your opinion. So if you wish to continue arguing like hormonal children, then leave me be.. I no longer possess the strength to deal with it.." she said.
"Sleep out here then." He snarled and slammed the bedroom door behind him. He covered his face and shook his head, "What is wrong with you...?" He muttered to himself.
It would be a couple hours but Magnara came back out and threw a small wrapped gift on the couch beside Ayani before heading to the kitchen down the hall.
It was a gift box from a jewelry store and inside was a white gold necklace with fire opals and moonstone. It glittered in the box, with a small card laid gently under it that said 'For My Sun, may you wear the stars like jewels'.
Magnara was sitting in front of a bottle of bourbon and whiskey glass but the glass was empty and the bottle unopened. He was glaring at them, as if they were urging him to partake and he was ignoring them. He didn't look at Ayani when she stepped in and he didn't say a word to her.
"I bought it months ago." He stated, "It was going to be a special 'before midnight' gift but we're both disgusted with my behavior today so just take it. Or sell it, I care not."
