Beginner Friendly RPG?

Hi there.

Some friends of mine recently got me into D&D and I find it really fun, but we have not gotten very far and don't play often enough for me to feel super confident in my understanding of everything. I'm interested in getting involved in either D&D or something similar, but I would need to play something where the DM and other players will be beginner friendly.

I imagine 5e would be simpler for a new player to learn.

5e is the one I played with my friends, yes. I am not picky though. I don't know enough about the different systems to be picky. Haha.

5e is the one I'm most familiar with, and I'm on the same boat as OP with not knowing enough to know which is which.

@batman4560, I take it you are fairly experienced with DMing such? If so, heck yeah, I'm down.

I am but Illven actually shot me a message saying he would DM I believe (If I read that right as its late here and mobile is hard for me to see sometimes) so I would just be a player here to help the new guys out!

Perfect! Looks like we have a DM and 3 players mapped out then if this thread is anything to go by.

Indeed, we should get one more player though as a 4 party group would be best. If we can't find one we should be fine with decent class choices. But that all depends on how the DM wants to do stuff.

To be clear, I'm not offering to dm, I have enough games I'm dm'ing already.

Well if needed I wouldn't mind taking on the roll of DM but we would have to do play by posts as my plate is really full with life and my work hours ebb and flow a lot.

I'm thinking of a Tiefling bard. Either Valor, or swords.
