Office Romances don't work...do they? (Nightstalker x Candi)

Chris smiled and wondered if her thoughts had been similar to his, eyes watching Rex bound off towards the house like it was home. Catching up to him near the gate he noticed the for sale sign still out the front and gave a big sigh of relief before grinning widely. "Perhaps it is just our lucky day."

"Maybe," she said, smiling as she saw the house in detail. It had a nice sized yard and a fence with a gate. Perfect for Rex. It was just the right effect as well. There was a front porch that was screened in and it had a swing. These were things she had always wanted in a house. Already, it was starting to look like somewhere she could live. Seeing the sign, she smiled and decided to give the agent a call.

Chris smiled at her words and wanted to see more of the house himself, it was totally perfect as his eyes met hers. The small side road leading around the property had Rex's interest too and pointing to it he let him go explore knowing he would come back. About five minutes later he did before leashing him again.

Shortly after the call, a short, mellow woman appeared before them. She looked to be in her early fifties, and Claire could tell that she had a fun-loving attitude, but that the woman was quite serious about her job. She greeted the two of them with a smile and firm handshake. "Well let's see about this home, shall we?" she said, spring in her step. She moved to the door and took a key from her purse to let them in.

Chris smiled and followed behind them, leaving Rex tethered up to a large tree he slid an arm loosely around Claire's waist. He was going to follow her lead with everything and hope that having the dog would not cause a problem either.

The woman smiled at Rex. "What a sweet looking dog. Of course, while I'm showing the house he can't come in, but if you do end up buying this place, he's more than welcome. There are a lot of people with dogs on the island." The woman smiled and then led them inside, showing off an open, spacious floor plan with a lot of natural light coming in. It was clear that Claire loved it. The kitchen was updated, and the bathrooms were nice too.

Chris smiled widely at the words spoken to and about Rex, he was glad about that as he entered the house. Taking a few short breaths and even pausing his breathing as the wonder in each room never seemed to amaze him. He wanted it then and there as he caught Claire's eye giving her a wink.

As the tour ended, Claire caught Chris' eye. Both of them wanted the house, she could just tell. So she asked how much the house was. Once she knew, she wrote down the amount and told the agent that she could expect an offer soon. Once they were out of the house, the woman locked up and gave Rex a pet as she went back to her car.

Excited, Claire turned to her fiance and put her arms around him. "I love you," she said softly.

Chris smiled and watched the agent leave before embracing Claire tightly and closely, his lips softly touching hers. Eyes sparkling brightly as he spoke in a whispered tone. "Claire love you so much too. Think we can get this house then."

"It's actually at a really reasonable asking price. I think we could get the company to pay for it for the two of us. This could be it," she said excitedly. She smiled and stayed close, kissing him again. "This could be ours."

Chris smiled even wider as he listened to her words, his long thick fingers stretched out wider across her lower back before interlocking so she could not move. Deepening the kiss more his eyes sparkled bright with a small glint in them. His words softly spoken. "Claire we will all love this area."

Claire grinned and kissed him back, her body pressed against his, so much of their skin touching. "Mmm, Beautiful," she said softly. "This will be wonderful."

Chris's interlocked fingers broke only slightly but kept her body held tightly to his, eyes still sparkling as he spoke. "Indeed it will be. Hope we do manage to get it."

She smiled and bounced a little. "Me too." She cuddled closer to him and nuzzled him.

Chris smiled and offered part of his neck to her as he held her close, long thick fingers stretching wide across her back as he spoke. "We can have that meal and enjoy the views while we wait to see if the house is ours."

"Sure. Why don't you and Rex go get the food? I'll make the call," she said, kissing his neck softly.

Chris moaned softly at the kiss to his neck, shivers and tingles going down his back, spine and throughout every nerve and sinew of his body. Taking the leash he casually walked off towards the shops, watching Rex take in all the different aromas. Pausing to do some window shopping they continued on, leaving Rex outside as he got their food before leaving and taking the leash again. Chuckling softly to himself he was soon humming and feeling like a kid again, must be the ocean so close he thought.

After he left she made the call to her supervisor about the house and within moments, she had the power to make an offer. With a grin, she called the agent and told her to start drawing up the paper work for it. They were putting in a bid.

Chris felt Rex pulling a little harder on the leash trying to steer him off towards the left hand side of the property, giving him what he wanted and that was free reign to explore he smiled as he got closer to her. "Mind of his he has, food is here so how did those calls go."

"We're putting in an offer. It sounds like we made the best one, so as soon as we hear back from the owners, the agent will call us and we'll have to come in and do the paper work." She smiled and kissed him softly. "Lets set up the picnic somewhere."

Chris listened intently to her words, he knew it could be done as his muscular shoulders stretched a little bringing one long arm down around her back to pull her close. His lips brushed against the soft skin of her cheek as he heard Rex barking before spotting him through some trees. "Sounds like he found us a perfect spot."

Chris's long thick fingers gently took hers and gave it a gentle squeeze as he began to guide them towards the small clearing. It was absolutely perfect, clear view of the ocean and the waves light crashing down against the base of the small cliff.

She smiled softly, amazed at the view as she sat down with him, grinning as Rex ran up and started licking her face. She pet the dog and gave him some affection. "Got any food for Rex?" she asked, looking over at him.

Watching the interaction between them he smiled at her words and pulled out the large marrow bone, Rex happily taking it and beginning to crunch on it as he sat down with his back resting against one of the large trees. "That will keep him busy for hours."
