Marooned [Kosmik_Khaos and Sigr]

Darkness, a vast all consuming darkness that swallowed even sound. A void of absolute nothing. This greeted Talia as she slept, the same endless emptiness that always laid behind the wall of consciousness for her since the first time she met Artemis all those years ago. Talia floated in that pitch void her body and mind resting, but something was different than every other night. There was a warmth to her that she wasn't accustomed to. The warmth moved and Talia moved to keep it close. The feeling was pleasant, filling an emptiness insider herself that nearly reflected the emptiness of her sleep.

The void was suddenly invaded. A pressure, familiar and alien all at once filled her head. It felt right to have that pressure invading her most personal of places. Like it fit there and was filling a piece of the void inside her. Then a posh voice called out her. The voice was familiar to her. A voice she could only hear. It spoke of strange things to her, in a language she didn't understand. Slowly the voice began to speak a language she could understand and it made Talia upset.

Mismatched eyes drifted open the right focusing much faster than the left. A smile crept onto Talia's face. "Good morning beautiful." She whispered to the girl looking at her sleeping. Talia craned her neck forward and kissed Vira's chin. "Artemis has informed me that we are less than half an hour from reaching our destination." She informed Vira with a sleepy smile. "Did you sleep well?" She asked while untangling herself from the younger woman.

Sitting up Talia stretched her arms high above her head and arched her back with a soft groan. "Let's get showered and dressed. Once we dock I will take you shopping for clothes of your own and some other things that you will need." She said reaching out and caressing the girl's cheek. Sliding out of bed she stretched again with a cute little moan as she pulled herself up to her tiptoes, hands high above her head before walking into the bathroom and starting the shower with a series of quick commands while listening to the reports from Artemis from the brief absence that they had with one another.

Vira saw Talia stir a bit, perhaps she was close to awaking, but the girl could feel a little hint of discomfort in her facial expression, even if it didn't last. "Good morning..." Vira said, feeling a bit bashful when Talia caught her looking as she slept and called her beautiful. Vira had improved a lot in those couple of days, but she didn't feel beautiful outside with her wiry body and her scars, nor did she thought himself beautiful inside, those unnamed worries chasing her around. Talia's affection was more than welcome and helped Vira not feel alone, bringing out her playful self and prompting a kiss on the captain's nose while she kissed her chin.

Letting Talia go was a bit hard but necessary, and it got easier once Vira noticed that she needed some stretching and flexing of her own, having spent too much time on the same position. While Talia stretched and groaned softly, Vira flexed around like she was a beast about to pounce, the limber girl seemed like she could almost pull her joints out of their sockets, almost growling while doing so. While Talia stretched once more and escaped to the bathroom, Vira took pause. The more active the surroundings became, the more distant her dreams and memories were, making her feel lighter and brighter.

They were also going to some kind of new place where she could get clothes and, in Talia's words, some other things. The idea made her curious, even if wary. Whatever that new place was, she could fend for herself and had Talia by her side, so perhaps there was nothing to fear, right? Vira still felt gross, dirty and sweaty from the night before. It was weird how she had endured being outright filthy in that planet but now the nature of that foulness made her uncomfortable. Ditching the sticky bike shorts, she followed Talia's footsteps into the shower, wanting to feel the cleansing water once more.

"I wonder how is that place. Where we are going" Vira clumsily confessed, stepping into the already running shower with Talia. She liked having simple and comfortable clothes that allowed for free movement, and she wasn't specially modest about the covering required of them, but Vira also wanted clothes that Talia would like, clothes that made herself as beautiful as the captain called her. The other things Talia thought she needed would also require explaining and made Vira curious, but she didn't question about them as she knew that the time would come. Even if Vira allowed some playfulness and sought a lovely touch or two, she was more focused on getting cleaned and ready to go wherever more than on being naughty with Talia, still uncomfortable with that part of their relationship. Luckily they were more or less accustomed to be in each others presence while naked, so even if the proximity and occasional contact was pleasing, the recent events didn't keep Vira shy from being near Talia while completely bare.

Talia glanced over her shoulder as Vira entered the shower with her and grinned at the girl as she stepped into the shower with her. Turning around to face her young ward she looked her over with a hungry gleam in her eyes. "So pretty." She whispered as she poured a bit of shampoo into her hand and started to lather it into her short blonde hair. "We should be very close to the Kilneeze Spaceport, once we get cleaned up I can take you to the observation deck to see it before we dock. It's a essentially one giant city now after decades of people from all over coming and going, some staying to live and build a life there." With a silent command to Artemis a spray of water came from above just over Talia rising the soap from her hair. She helped Vira bath again, not because she didn't feel the girl couldn't do it herself, but because she wanted to touch her skin and be as close to her as possible for the moment. She snuck in a few kisses as they washed and occasionally let her fingers roam across the skin of Vira, never letting the touches linger to long or go into too inappropriate areas.

Once she was finished washing she stepped out with Vira and handed her a towel before drying herself off. "Thank you Artemis, we will make our way to the observation deck." She spoke to the ship as she toweled off her hair. "We are within visual range of Kilneeze darling. Would you like to go see were we are going to be stopping?" She asked hanging the towel and stepping to the mirror to brush her teeth and hair.

Once finished with her grooming Talia left the bathroom and walked to her wardrobe picking a sleek black outfit of tight trousers, and sleeveless shirt with a crimson overcoat that's tail flared out at the hips and ended just above the knee. The coat was embroidered with black interweaving lines going down the sides of the sleeves from shoulders to wrists, reminiscent to old earthen Celtic knot design, on the back was a pair of stylized wings in the same knotted lines that ran the entire length of the coat with scrolling glyphs going down the spine. "You can wear the dress again darling for now, or pick something of mine. Our first priority on Kilneeze is getting you your own clothing." She spoke as she pulled out a pair of knee high boots of the same color as the coat with black laces. Despite being known for her toughness Talia still liked to look good while kicking ass and amazing the universe. Plus it threw off most people who saw her, leaving them thinking she was a 'just a woman' and underestimating her severely.

Once Vira was dressed she took the girls hand, lacing her fingers with Vira's and giving her hand a gentle squeeze. It took several minutes of walking for the pair to reach the observation deck. Looking out of the vast viewing window she pointed to a object in the distance, it was a giant crescent that was almost completely closed. The outside was smooth all the way round, but the inside was textured and non uniformed. "The Kilneeze Spaceport, on the inside of that crescent is the giant city, from point to point there is no unused space. There is a population of about thirty million living there. It is self sustained and one of the most prosperous ports in the universe, the most prosperous in this and neighboring sectors. If you can think of it you can most likely find it here." She explained with wonder in her organic eye. "ETA?" A pause followed by a nod. "All preparations are set and everything is clear for our docking?" A satisfied nod of her head. "Good, thank you Artemis." Turning to face Vira she smiled. "We land in twenty-five minutes."

"A giant city..." Vira mused. Even if she wasn't shipborn, she was very young when they crashed and even younger when her parents took her into their pilgrimage, so she didn't have memories of any big settlements. "All I know about cities, about spaceports..." she mumbled, taking a brief pause, enjoying the cleansing feel of the water. "Places of sin, parents said. You know better than them" Vira revealed her parents opinion of those places where they briefly stopped for supplies, places she had never seen as they didn't allow her to get out of the ship, but promptly made clear that she didn't believe them, that Talia knew what she was doing. "Mother... Father... tiny ship, short travels, small minds" Vira added, sounding almost hostile, angry. Vira herself had been of judging things without knowing them, from Talia to her crew, passing by her food, clothes or customs, but the girl was able to slowly adapt, learn and specially not judge.

The brief touches and tender kisses got Vira out of her mood, and she slowly was able to return a few of them, nothing naughty, just a playful show of love. Once out of the shower, Vira delighted herself with how soft and fluffy the towel felt, taking her sweet time to dry herself and just hurrying up once Talia talked of the observation deck. "Yes, I want to see Kil-nee-zee. Kil-neeze" she stuttered a bit, having a bit of trouble with the pronunciation. "Brush my hair?" she asked of Talia, a bit clumsily but that was one thing she didn't know how to do properly and it seemed relaxing and nice.

The captain looked amazing in her clothes, so elegant and powerful. Vira's bike shorts were terribly dirty after the naughty events of the night before, so when it was time for her to get dressed, she opted for an easy way out. Recovering the yellow dress of the day before, she put it on, hugging her chest and flowing around her hips and thighs once more, only that she was wearing nothing below it. It was easy to get in and out of it, so getting to try out clothes would be easier with such a garment, even if it could be dangerously exposing. "Kilneeze barefoot?" she asked, her pronunciation of the spaceport getting a bit better, wriggling her toes to indicate that she had no footwear to call her own. Going without shoes on the ship had been nice, but perhaps she couldn't keep doing it on that place, as Talia had covered her feet as well.

With the footwear situation solved one way or the other, Vira happily followed Talia to the observation deck, returning the squeeze on her hand with glee. Wide eyes and open mouth ruled over Vira's face when Talia pointed her to Kilneeze and told her a few facts about the place. Vira knew her numbers, as she had been at least a bit educated during her early youth, but the mere amount made her dizzy. "Th-thirty million..." she muttered, squeezing Talia's hand tighter. It was crazy and seemed almost impossible, something that was only believable because she had it in front of her eyes and, specially, because Talia was saying so.

"They have everything and anything one could want..." Vira mumbled, "I don't know what I want though" she added, very self-reflective. She didn't know what kind of garments she could get or she would like until seeing them, trying them. Talia also talked about other things she may need, but she didn't know what she could be referring to. The idea of such an adventure of discovery, safe by Talia's side, made her almost jump in excitement. "Ah... twenty five minutes yet..." she whined a bit like a spoiled brat, nervously shifting her weight from one feet to the other, unable to stand still.

Talia smiled at the comment of Vira's parents having small minds, it was an opinion she had of many religious people, especially the zealots. "Well I don't see it as a sinful place, though I can see where people of religious persuasions would find it to be a den of sin. You will be able to make the decision yourself when we get there." She wanted to give the girl the room to grow and make her own decisions, to think for herself and be independent. "Of course darling." Talia answered to Vira's request to brush her hair stepping to her and doing just that.

In answer to her footwear question Talia returned to the wardrobe and dug through the bottom until she came out with a pair of flats, not much more than silk slippers with an elastic band around the ankle. "These should do until we get you some shoes of your own.

Talia returned the squeeze and nodded. "Mmhm, there are a few that are bigger than Kilneeze, but not as open with trade. The laws there are rather...lax." She said with a pause at the end to find the correct word. Leaning against Vira, pressing her side to the girl she let out a small laugh at the serious tone she had adopted. "You don't have to know what you want right now. We will look around and when you see something you like just tell me darling." The amusement she felt shined on her face and in her emerald eye. "Most of that wait is going to be spent getting ready." She said to the impatiently dancing girl. Leaning over she kissed Vira on the temple and gave her hand a small tug. "Come on darling, let's go get ready for our shopping trip." She said pulling Vira along behind her.

Talia lead Vira through the maze of corridors and down several levels of Artemis until they finally reached the vehicle hold of the ship. Walking through the door into the vast garage like room she smiled at the plethora of vehicles she and the crew kept. All shapes, sizes and functions, from luxury cars, hover bikes, work trucks, APC's and ATV's. "The part of the city were going to is huge, it would take us hours and hours to walk around so we are going to take a car there. We can always park and walk around the place but I like having the option of transportation at hand." She explained walking down a row of vehicles and stopping a sleek car and running her finger tips along it's side. "You will do nicely." She said to the vehicle a hint of excitement in her voice.

Talia tore her eyes from the car and looked up silently for a moment then nodded. "Can you bring up an image down here for her?" She asked the empty air. "Thank you Artemis." Turning to Vira, Talia pointed a little ways down as a screen lowered from the ceiling. "We're only few minutes away, Artemis can see the section of the city were about to landing in." She explained as an image appeared on the screen.

"I'm ready to get ready" Vira giggled, comfy with those simple slippers, following Talia eagerly as her borrowed yellow dress bounced with her energetic steps. She still didn't know what she wanted, and since Talia told her that she would have to wait and see, she couldn't even imagine what kinds of garments could that humongous place have. Once they reached the vehicle hold, Vira's eyes opened wide, as that part of Artemis was unknown to her, not revealed in the tour they took before since they didn't have the time for every detail. "So shiny..." Vira squeezed Talia's hand, admiring her vehicle of choice, touching it as the captain did, marveling at the smooth surface. It looked as slick, powerful and elegant as the owner herself, and even if Vira didn't know what the machine was capable of, she sure thought that it was no wonder that Talia liked that car.

Vira wanted to step inside, look at how it was, wondering if such a thing would be comfy, but it seemed that Talia had other plans. As requested Artemis made an image pop, a galaxy of lights peppering the city they were going to head in. "Stars..." Vira couldn't help but mumble. "It's like a galaxy on its own... so beautiful and mysterious..." she mumbled, her eyes reflecting the shine, another couple of amber stars. Just what kind of people were there? What kind of food they ate? What clothes they dressed with? It was bound to be strange looking people as well, like Tsulo or Deena, right? For a moment she wondered about how safe the place was, as Talia's talk of a lax law was puzzling to her, but she could fend for herself, and with Talia by her side she had nothing to fear. Not from the people there.

"It's beautiful" Vira repeated after a moment of silence, squeezing Talia's hand once more as if she was making sure the woman was still there by her side. Tugging from her clothes, Vira signaled to Talia to lean a bit, so she could speak in her ear. "Maybe we can bring something for Artemis. A gift" she whispered, still believing that the ship couldn't hear her. "What does she like?" Vira wondered, not knowing what a ship could want. Leaving that matter to Talia, she released her hand to approach the vehicle once more. "I want to get in the... thing" she said, walking in circles around, looking at every nook and corner of the vehicle she couldn't quite describe.
