Alexander was slowly moving down the forest pathway, the long forest path through the Eldrich forest. He would need to stop somewhere in there, to rest, since it was a long trek. And, his horse needed to rest as well. Alex and his steed traveled the land, helping when it was needed. He kept to himself most of the time, though there were times when he would spend time in the company of a good man. He was known for killing many bandits and dangerous creatures, destroying a Doom Lord not too long ago.

About noon, they had reached the midway point of the Eldrich pass, where there was a large lake at the road. Alexander dismounted his steel, letting the horse feed off the grass in the strangely empty glade. The only point in the whole forest that you could see the sky from, the lake was pristine, completely clear of any debris. Sitting down at the edge of the water, Alexander let his mind wander, eyes closing for half a moment before opening, laying himself back on the ground.

He wasn't a oddity of warriors, at least in body. He was lean but toned, strong with a sword. His armor was steel, the grayish-silver tone of it gleaming in the sunlight. He wore the full plate mail, his helm off right now to rest. He had medium length, somewhat shaggy brown hair, that was fallen back from his face. The sharp angels of it caught the eye of many women, but they couldn't keep up with a man that was constantly on the move. His blue eyes looked up into the sky, His mind listening for some sort of calling.

A petite little woman groaned, holding the side of her head. Had they hit something? She raised her ivory hand to wipe the strawberry blond hair from her delicate cyan eyes. Her carriage bumped again, now they were at a complete stop. She heard yelling outside. The other two woman in with here were whispered frantically. The blond reached into the long cloak she bore, grasping the long knife on her leg and pushed the door open.

Quickly she reacted to the blade heading towards her throat. Grabbing the mads wrist and twisting it until she heard the rough snapping of the bone breaking. The man's howl in pain alerted his comrades, and others swarmed. She took a step back, but her long dress she wore caused her to lose her balance. Falling onto her rear, her arm smacked the wood of her horse driven carriage, the blade in her hand knocked away. Some of the bandits raiding her caravan grasped the woman, whom screamed shrilly as they were loaded onto horses and taken away. The blond's guards fought as she lay on the ground, confused after smacking her head off the ground.

Peering up at her surroundings she noted out of her hazed vision they seemed to be out numbered. Too dizzy to stand or fight, the blond woman curled up and tried to stay hidden, watching the fight the best she could. Guilt from not raising her own sword welling up.

Alexander's head picked up as he heard the screams. They weren't far away. He jumped up, getting to his horse and taking off like a bat out of hell. It wasn't too far that he found what he was looking for: a carriage being taken over by raiders. The two nearest him were carrying women, and he jumped off his horse as he went after them. His steed was able to trample down one of them before they noticed them, and with a quick swipe, the two carrying the women were beheaded before they could draw weapons.

"Stay back!" Alexander warned, as he moved forward. There was maybe 5 raiders in this party, and three of them were dead. He saw one of them at the carriage, looking around, and another one was trying to commandeer it. A quick stab to the heart took down the one on the carriage, and he was able to stab through the back the one looking in. As the last raider fell, his eyes were met with the image of a Elven woman, in rather royal finery. "They are all gone." He said, wiping his blade off the ground and sheathing it, before he moved a little closer. The other two women were coming back by now. "If I may, would you like a escort to wherever you were going?"

Lynnira peered her eyes open, hearing the words of the man. Clearing her throat she sat up, her beautiful locks covered in dust and dirt. "Oh..." She spoke with a heavy accent. Turning to the other woman, struck with fear seeing the chaos of their caravan. They did not speak the common language. So Lynnira translated what he spoke to them. "Yes. We would. Please." She offered him a small smile, placing her hands on the ground she pushed herself to her feet. Side stepping as she nearly lost balance, her hand on her forehead again.

The Elvish woman swore in her native tongue.

Lynnira Bloodmoon was the daughter of the wealthy lord of the Elvish lands where she'd originated from. She was the youngest of the five children her father had, not all of them were completely blood related.

Waving her ivory hand in the direction they had been heading she spoke to him in her heavily accented voice, though silky smooth and light, "We were heading to do business with the Baron of the lands a day or two's ride away..."

Alexander heard her voice, knew the tones well, even though he knew she was a elf when he looked at her. He had traveled for a long time, and he knew some of the elven language. He heard her destination, and nodded, speaking in elvish "I will be happy to escort you there." And then he moved, letting the women into the carriage before getting to his horse.

He got on, moving over to where the driver of the carriage was, seeing he was a elf too. He made sure that the man could make it for the rest of the day, first, before saying to him "There's a town, Embersmire, at the end of the forest. We can stay there for the night, then head off to where you need to take these women. I'm escorting."

Lynnira was aware some new the elvish tongue, and smiled at him. The two other girls whispered in hushed voices and helped the younger elf into the carriage. It was a big beat up, the mahogany planks dented and scratched, in dire need of a repair, but it was livable. When they were on the move again, she relaxed. Leaning against the wall of the carriage she let the older elves brush her hair, playing with it. Her long pointed ears were intent on listening to what the human male was speaking of with their driver.

His talent in their language was surprising, she had to admit to herself. The elvish man whom was driving looked at the human, a bit of a stubborn look on his face. "An escort?" She nearly snorted, like many of the Elvish, he thought he was greater than the human. But sighing, he did as was told, and got them on the move.

"I'm not going to let the same thing happen again to royalty." He countered to the Elvish man, which promptly shut him up. They started riding immediately, keeping rather quiet. The road was mostly smooth, some footprints where men had walked, some cart trails, but nothing too bumpy. Nothing attacked them after he joined with them, and night was starting to fal as they reached Embersmire.

The path through the forest was rather straightforward, having no forks from that point onward, so he stayed at the side of the carriage. When they got to the town, however, he pulled ahead some, leading them towards the inn so they could eat and rest for the next day. If they moved fast, they could get to the castle they needed to get to on the morrow.

Lynnira felt the cart finally come to it's stop for the night. Pushing the door open for herself she stepped out, her long billowing dress dragged along the ground. Muttering something about how dangerous that could be she grabbed the front of the dress and lifted it so she could walk, her sandel'd feet just barely visible. Walking up the the human man, whom made her feel quite short, as she stood at merely five feet high, she smiled. "Will you be staying here for the night as well, swordsman?" She spoke to him in common, her linguistics were not poor, merely accented, plus, it showed him respect.

"If you require anything allow me to purchase it for you, in thanks for earlier. Mind not the others, the men are upset and the women are... women." She cracked another smile for him. Inclining her head she curtsied to him, not too extremely.

Alexander had gotten off his horse and had her tied up to stay outside the inn, and the Elven royalty came up to him, offering gratitude and items. He shook his head slowly. "I'm not done with my job. I'm watching over your caravan until you get to the castle." He looked up towards the inn, then back at her. "We will be staying for free here, as well. The innkeeper owes me. So rest up and get what you can to eat. We set off early in the morning. It will be faster and safer that way."

He bowed her, politely, before heading into the inn. The Innkeeper turned to him and showed his surprised, and Alexander made a beeline to him. "I have a group that needs to stay the night here. We need food as well." The Innkeeper looked shocked, but nodded, and Alex waited for everyone to get inside.

Lynnira blinked at him, but nodded, not quite understanding why he'd not take her gifts of gratitude, but she continued on her way. The other Elf's with her rushed to her side as they entered the Inn. Like most Inn's she'd ever stayed in that were run by humans the smell of burning logs and alcohol were very present in the air. Her skirt was still hoisted over her feet as she walked after the Human male who had saved her.

She listened to the exchange carefully, her light blue eyes dancing from one face to the next. The three other elf's with Lynnira stayed close, sheltered in their beautiful estate and lands, these elf's had only ever gone from one city to the other in their own territory. For them, this Inn was dirty and vile.

A little more worldly, Lynnira smiled at the Innkeeper and thanked him softly. Sticking close to the Human whom was escorting her... She then realized she was going to need is name sometime soon, referring to him as 'the human' (even in her thoughts) was starting is annoy her.

He left her side after telling her the plan, going a little deeper into the inn to get some food. Just thinking of it sparked a thought in his mind. I haven't had good Elven cuisine in a while, I should head to Elven territory when this is over. Sitting down at a table, he waited for a barmaid to come over.

"Chicken." He said simply, as he accepted the flask of mead. His food came quickly, to his surprise, and he pulled out the little knife that he carried for when he ate. He started carving the chicken, taking some and tasting it first. It was well cooked, at least. He hadn't been to these parts in a while, so he didn't remember how good their food was.

Folding her arms over her chest, she excused herself from the Inn for merely a moment, returning to the carriage. Under the benches inside were small trunks. Grasping one she lifted it from under and closed the door to the carriage. Mindful of the human eyes watching her elegant steps. Taking her trunk she headed back indoors, and then up the stairs to the rooms they were given.

Locking the door behind herself, she untied the ribbons on her dress. Allowing it to fall she kicked it off. In her white cloth undergarments she sighed. Running her fingers through her waist long hair. There was a small basin of water need a mirror. Splashing her face with the water, she sighed.

Quickly re-dressing in loose fitting clothes she then headed downstairs. Taking her seat between the two women, she looked at the food they presented her. It was... strange. Greasy, undercooked and plain. Though; she noted as she looked around the inn, not many of them looked to have much sense in cuisine. Lynnira took a small bite of the chicken, gritting her teeth she ate the food.

Alexander only had appetite for half of the chicken he was given, taking a final bite of the piece of bread he got with it, finishing the rather weak mead before cleaning off his feeding knife and sheathing it. A rather unremarkable dinner from a rather unremarkable inn. It suited it well, Alex decided finally. He stood slowly from his seat and headed upstairs. His room was across from Lynnira's, to help keep watch.

The first thing he did when he was in his room was shed his plate armor. It was heavy enough that his muscles sighed in relief when he took it off. Underneath it he wore simple loose brown pants, nothing else. He walked over to the water basin and washed off his face first, then his arms, then his chest. He looked into the small reflective pool and sighed slightly. It was a hard life, but someone had to do it.

His body showed toned muscles, slightly grown out from having to carry his armor out. Most knights were like that.

Lynnira finished her own meal quickly, she could feel the lump on the side of her head growing, and she felt the need to take care of it. Te barmaid gave her a glass of.. what she believed to be water with her meal, she took a small sip of it before deciding it may be wise not to. Taking her leave once more, her plate mostly finished, the young elf bounded up the stairs to her room. Without thinking, she entered the room, the door left open just a crack.

She groaned softly as she brushed her hair back with her hands, exposing the bruising lump on her hair line. There wasn't a whole lot she could do for it, she realized, but it was giving her a headache.

Leaning her thin clothing on, she laid down on the hard bed they offered. It was hard, smelt of old men and booze, but it was a bed. The pillows weren't too bad, she noted, resting her head and closing her eyes. Lynnira sighed, she realized she just wanted to go home...

As she lay in the bed attempting to get some rest, her mind would wander back to the handsome human whom saved them..

He stood looking into his reflection for a long moment before stretching. It was still slightly early, but getting to sleep now would mean a better chance of getting to the castle by sundown the next day. Still... he turned his head to the bed, which was little more than a cot that the drunkards (who was able to get drunk off that mead, anyway?) would pass out on. The pillows were at least fluffy. Thankfully.

He moved out of his room, going across the hall and gently knocking on the door before slowly opening it. He used his elvish tongue, knowing she would know it was him by his slight accent and tone of voice. "Are you ok?" He had noticed the bump on her head earlier, thought there could be worse things on her as well.

She was just dozing off when he knocked on her door. Startled she sat up, and the blood rushed from her head, lights flickered in her vision and her head throbbed. She grit her teeth and shut her eyes. Her thin pale hand moving onto the lump, "Yes... I'll be alright. Just a bit of a bump." Her pale eyes flickered to his body. She kept her brow from raising seeing his toned form, half naked, standing in her doorway. "Good thing you came though, else it may have been worse." She spoke softly.

Lynnira sat up on her bed, one hand on her head, the other on the pillow behind her to keep her up. "Is there something you require.. um... sir? I have yet to hear your name..." Waving her hand she nodded her head, "I am Lynnira Bloodmood, the youngest Daughter."

He watched her struggle to get up and hold herself up. It looked like she took a pretty hard hit to her head. But he held himself back, not wanting to seem too forward with all of this. If she was royalty, it would be his head. And it was a good call, because she was. He bowed down after hearing her name. "I am Alexander, a wandering knight. It was good I was going through the forest of Eldrich, then."

He slowly walked over to her, moving to her bedside and being very careful at looking at the bump on her head. "It's just a small bump. It will hurt for a little longer, but it will feel better." He stood up straight, waiting for some order from her. He still had his honor, at least.

"Alexander." She repeated, the name felt weird on her mouth, not from her language of course. "Yes, very good you were going through there. Quite helpful." She said, smiling at him again. She shuffled over, allowing him to see her head better. She knew it was swollen, blue, black and purple, but she didn't say anything. No need, he could see it as well as she had earlier.

"Yes, I've had a bump or two before..." She smiled. "I didn't think Knights.. traveled. I thought they worked for kingdoms or something of the such, am I wrong? Or is human culture just vary that much more from my own?" Her eyes followed him as he stood straight, and she recognized that pose. And she sighed very gently. "You are not mine to command, sir knight. Nor would I ever ask anything of you, you've already granted me more years to my life."

Her question went into his head, and it took a moment to answer it. "Most of the knights serve under a kingdom or lord. Though, there are a few that wander. Some good, some bad." He moved to sit after her words of him giving her a longer life. "What was I suppose to do, let those raiders kill you and your entourage? I think not."

His head turned to look at the door, a soft sigh escaping. "Well, M'Lady Lynnira, I will leave you to sleep for the night. We will be leaving early in the morning to make it to the castle before nightfall." He stood again, slowly walking to the door. He stopped before leaving, turning his head over his shoulder to look at her. "Good night." And then the door was closed.

Nodding, she listened to what he said, but held her tongue, she had other questions for him. "Many would've." She shrugged, it was a fact of her life. She felt the bed move as he sat beside her, how to curled in, making her have to brace herself not to fall onto him. And when he stood back up, her body was rocked the other way.

Managing a soft smile, the woman lay back down on her little bed, her toes curling and a sudden loud noise from the bar below. "Yes, sleep. I will see you in the morn then." Nodding her head, Lynnira turned her back to the door, tucking her hands under her neck, to keep her fingers warm. "Goodnight." She said back to him, as the door shut.

A small pout graced her face, something about him was putting her off, but she didn't know what it was. He seemed so.. uptight with a carefree life? She mulled on these things as she lay her head down again. Not long after her eyes closed, she was asleep.

He made a beeline to his nearby room, closing the door and washing his face with the water in the basin again. What was going on? There was no reason for raiders in the Eldrich forest, so... who ordered it? There were many humans that disliked Elves. He wasn't one of them, though. He kept with rather good terms with the Elves. He stayed in their forests and keeps when he first left his own keep.

He finally got to laying down, but the questions on his mind puzzled him until he fell asleep a half hour later.

-----

He woke before the sun even rose, quickly getting his armor on. Tying his sword sheathe to his belt, he went through the rooms, starting with Lynnira, to get everyone up. He was rather gentle with rousing them, but he was gone after he noticed anything with them. Afterward, he went downstairs, doing what repairs to the carriage that he could. At least the ride there would be easier with that.

The reminder of the last dinner here made him steer away from eating there, instead going to his horse and pulling out a piece of bread to drink down. He waited for everyone to come out so they could get going.

(how are you liking the rp so far?)

// It's good. Doing an amazing job of getting me back into it! //

Lynnira slept... well, she slept at least. She was roused by the human, and as graceful as ever she raised herself from her bed and placed her feet on the cold ground once he'd left the room. A shiver ran up her spine as she splashed the new fresh water they had given her on her face. A sigh left her, as she scrubbed her face with the cloth given to her. Once her face was nicely dealt with, she soaked her hair, brushed it back, and braided it once down her back.

With her trunk in hand, she almost floated down the staircase, and into the darkness shrouded outside. She inhaled deeply the smell of the outdoors, it was wonderful to her. Pushing her trunk back into it's spot in the carriage, she watched the three other elf's file out of the Inn. They were no unaccustomed to waking at such an early hour. They each looked elegant, graceful and... awake.

She motioned for them to saddle up the horses and prepare the carriage as she turned to find the human-- Alexander. The name still sounded strange to her, it was so... human. "Alexander?" She asked when she saw his broad back, "We are ready to begin, are you?"

He heard her question, and he came around the corner, riding his horse. He had his blade out, and when he was near her, riding parallel, he pulled back on the reigns, his steed rearing back on its back legs, Alexander bringing his sword up into the air. His horse calmed down and shook out its mane, waiting for another order.

"I always wanted to do that." He said to her in elvish, a rather playful smile on his face as he headed to the front of the carriage. He was awake, obviously, and rather full of energy. "Come on! We have a long way to go!" HE led the carriage out of the city, keeping at a good medium pace down the road to the Castle that she had to go to.

This carriage only required one horse to pull it, though they had two horses with them, in case of injury. Standing beside him as he reared his horse, Lynnira flashed him her own playful grin, "You seem amused." She spoke in elvish, her silky voice giggling afterward. Speaking quickly with the male elf, she took the spare horse, mounted it like any man would. She wore no dress, nothing but polished leathers. She sped up to keep her horse in pace with his.

"Do you mind if I ride along-side you today?" Lynnira tilted her head up, staring into the dark sky above, though near the horizon it was already turning it's light purple color, soon to be pink or red. "You know.. I've always loved traveling by horse at night, the sky is always the more beautiful then. Easy on the fair eyed. Plus, night is when we party in my lands, you must know that, so all the memories flood me..." She smiled at him after sharing her bit of information.

He watched Lynnira catch up to him on another horse, and he nodded at her question. "Feel free." He sheathed his blade, and looked up at the sky when she did. "I know." He said, in response to her words about the night parties. "I lived in a Elven village for a while. Took some time to earn their trust, but it was the only place I could stay at the time..."

He caught himself there, and kept quiet for a while. The sun quickly climbed the sky to the side of them as they went along the road. "What was the name of the castle again?"
