It's Just Human Nature (MysteriousD/DaddysLittleSkank)

Diego looked at his baby son, waiting to hear what he would say. His face broke into a massive grin before he picked up his son and embraced him tight. "His first word! His first word!" Diego said as he hugged his son tight and kissed his forehead with an absolutely happy look on his face.

"Look inside the box," Diego told Marceline while he was hugging his son.

"I guess he's just worried and wants to be the best for you," Finn told Morgan with a smile as he gave her a hug from behind before kissing her neck. "Things have been pretty quiet though I heard there could be some problems PB wants us to take care of," he added.

"If something pops out at me, you're dead." Marceline said getting up from the couch. She went over to the box and started to open it.

"He doesn't need to worry." Morgan stated. "You better be careful, you might get me in the mood."

When Marceline would open the box, she would see a dress. A white wedding dress. "It belonged to your mom... or rather it belonged to her mom. So your grandmother. I figured that she would've worn it if she gotten married," Diego explained to Marceline with a smile while he was craddling his son.

"It is nice that he does everything he can to show you he cares," Finn told her with a smile before seeing her sly grin. "Well, maybe we can have some fun after dinner," he told her before he kissed her forehead.

Marceline stood there holding the dress in her hands, completely shocked. "How-how did you get this?" She asked not looking away from the dress.

"I guess that'll be dessert." Morgan replied placing the burger patties on a plate.

"Months ago, while watching Aurelio, I began testing the computer capabilities of the microbots and I was able to find some old stuff from the internet. I then would spend time trying to locate information and I found where your mom grew up and I went over there back when I helped Finn on that favor," Diego explained as he held Aurelio. "That's why you gotta go the extra distance to make your partner happy," he whispered to his son.

"Yeah, especially since you're the sweetest," Finn told Morgan with a smile as he pulled the chair for Morgan to sit in. "Yeah, I guess Ice King just wants you to be happy," Finn added with a smile.

Marceline gently placed the dress back in the box and, without saying a word, walked over to Diego and wrapped her arms around him in a hug. She kissed his cheek before resting her head on his shoulder.

"I am happy." Morgan reassured while blushing from Finn's compliment. "I'm happier than I've ever been before in my entire life!"

Diego saw Marceline put the dress back into the box and was unsure what she'd do. However, he embraced her back with his free arm. He kissed her cheek back as she felt her head on his shoulder. "I'm glad you like it," Diego told her softly.

"Mama?" Diego looked down surprised at Aurelio. He looked at his mom with confusion and slight concerned. "Looks like he got his second word," Diego said with an even bigger smile as he saw his son reach his hands out for his mama as he repeated his second word.

"I'm glad you're happy," Finn told her with a smile as he assembled his burger. "So, you wanna go tomorrow to help PB with what she needs us for or go later today?" he asked her.

Marceline wiped a couple of tears away and took Aurelio into her arms. "It's okay, Little Dude." She said referring to Aurelio by the nickname she'd given him. "Mama's just happy because even though you dad's a complete dork, he's really great and he's my dork." She was gently bouncing him trying to soothe him. "And soon you mama and dad are gonna get married."

"Sure, the bakery is closed tomorrow for repairs so I don't have anything to do." Morgan explained. She put some avocado on her burger followed by a cooked egg, some bacon, some cheddar cheese, mayo, lettuce, and tomato.

"I think he was just worried about you. In fact, he even called you Mama," Diego told Marceline with a smile before he kissed her cheek once more. He blushed when she called him her dork and he hugged her in response. Aurelio just laughed at his mom's smile. "He's probably gonna grow up to be a dork like me then," Diego said with a chuckle.

Finn just put a little bit of everything onto his burger before he put it on his plate and he got a bag of chips along with a pitcher of lemonade for them to accompany their meal. "Are you gonna show off your ice ninja skills?" Finn teased.

"It's impossible for any child with half my DNA to be a dork." Marceline teased before going back to talking to Aurelio. "Tell him 'Mama's gonna teach me to play the bass and Uncle Finn will help her teach me to kick butt.'"

"When I master it." Morgan answered before taking a big bite of her burger, chewing, and swallowing before she continued talking. "I don't mess up while I'm showing off."

Aurelio just looked at Marceline before he went to hug his mom and kiss her. "I can kick butt and do a lot more, yet I'm still your dork, am I right?" Diego responded before he kissed Marcy and looked at her lovingly. "I love you so much and I'm happy I will get to call you my wife soon," he told her with a smile.

Finn was eating his burger and listening to his beloved talk. "Well, I know you'll kick alot of butt. So you memorized all the handsigns and stuff?" Finn asked Morgan in an impressed manner.

Marceline put Aurelio on her hip and asked him, "Do you want dinner, Aurelio? We still have some of Aunt Morgan's mac and cheese that she left us." She walked into the kitchen to heat up some food for him. "You want some, Diego?" She called from the kitchen.

"Most of them. I'm still getting a few confused, but otherwise I'm doing pretty good." Morgan explained as she ate her burger.

Aurelio just smiled and cooed with a smile at being in his mom's arms. "Of course," Diego responded with a smile as he followed Marceline into the kitchen before he kissed her cheek. "I can't believe Aurelio is already saying his first words," Diego said with a smile as Aurelio poked Diego and called him Dada.

"Well, I can't wait to see your moves in action, especially when we kick evil butt," Finn said with a smile befor ehe took another bite of his burger. "PB also said that she found where your mom ended up," he said quieter.

"I know." Marceline said with a chuckle. "He's growing up so fast. It feels like just yesterday we were waiting for him to arrive." She walked to the refrigerator, with Aurelio still on her hip, and pulled out a container of mac and cheese. She removed the lid and scooped out a good amount into a bowl for Diego before pulling out one of the small plastic bowls meant for Aurelio. She heated up Diego's food in the microwave first allowing her to put Aurelio in his high chair. After handing the foot and silverware to Diego, she heated up Aurelio's food and got his silverware.

Morgan was smiling until Finn mentioned her mother. She closed her eyes and putting her burger down. While she was okay talking about and interacting with her father, her mother was still very sensitive subject.

"Yeah, how time flies," Diego said with his own chuckle as he began putting the table and helping out with his future wifey in preparing their food. "Would you like me to get you something red to eat, sweetie?" Diego told Marceline sweetly as he planted a kiss on her cheek once more.

Finn put the burger down before going over to hug her. "I'm sorry to bring it up, but PB said that bottling this junk up isn't good for you. And she should know, she's been bottling stuff up for centuries," Finn told her softly.

"No I'm fine." Marceline said pulling Aurelio's food from the microwave. She pulled a chair up to the high chair and sat down. "Are you ready to eat, little dude?" She asked. She got a small forkful of the mac and cheese and put it in Aurelio's mouth, Aurelio of coarse tried to take fork from his mother. "You think just because you can say two words that you're big enough to feed yourself?" Marceline lovingly teased.

"I don't to talk about it and I don't need to be judged because it." Morgan said. "I don't care what PB says, she doesn't understand how much this whole thing with my mother has affected me. I'm just now getting to a point where the emotional wounds are healing and I'm letting other people in, why the hell would I want to reopen those wounds?" She didn't open her eyes, or move, or even physically respond to Finn hugging her:

Aurelio smiled and clapped in delight at seeing the mac and cheese. Diego meanwhile looked at the scene of Aurelo and Marceline and he smiled softly. It was absolutely wonderful. He felt content and at peace and just pure wonderful. Aurelio just pouted at his mom's teasing, but still eat his mac and cheese. Diego dug into his own.

"This... this, the two of us and Aurelio and her friends.. it's perfect," Diego said with a big smile before he kissed Marcy on the cheek. Aurelio smiled at seeing his daddy smile, clapping while comfy in his little space-themed onesie.

"She's just worried about you," Finn said as he kept his hug on Morgan. "I know what's that like. I kust don't want this to haunt forevs," Finn said with a worried look as he kept his hugers to Morgan/ He was just worried for her because he loved her.

"If you would've told a few years ago I'd be engaged with a kid, I would've said you were crazy. I honestly never wanted a kid." Marceline said with a slight a chuckle as she collected more macaroni on the fork. "But now that I'm here, I wouldn't want it any other way." She offered the food to Aurelio. "Yes, you were a surprise to me and I love you more than anything." She said smiling at her son.

"No, Finn, you don't know what it's like." Morgan said growing a bit angry. "Even after you were abandoned, you were found by a couple that raised you as their own. You had parents and brothers who loved you. I had two grandparents that made sure to tell me everyday that I was the reason my mom wasn't around. They told me I was worthless every chance they had and even though I've moved past it, that's part of who I am and I will also have that tiny voice in my head that they put there telling I'm terrible. I was abused, Finn, and that's not something you can just get over like it's nothing."

"I didn't think I would ever get married or have a kid, but it was a dream of mine. Thanks for making my dream come true... though it's our dream now, ain't it?" Diego told her with a smile. He ate more of his mac and cheese. Aurelio smiled at his moomy before he leaned to kiss her nosey before eating his mac and cheese.

"That wasn't your mom's fault. But I just don't want all of this to haunt you forever," Finn said as he looked at her in her eyes. His face was concerned. "I just want you to be happy and to stop hurting," he said to her softly. "What can I do?" he asked her.

Marceline looked a bit shocked at Aurelio before stating while smiling, "Oh, he is definitely your son, Diego." She continued feeding Aurelio, "After you finish eating, will you give him a bath? I'll eat while you're doing that and we can play with him until his bedtime and then we can play until our's." She winked at him with the last part.

"I don't know, Finn." Morgan sighed. "I don't think anyone can help me. I was broken a long time ago and now I don't even have all the pieces anymore. I'm sorry."

"He's gonna make someone very happy when he becomes a young man," Diego said with a smile as he kissed the forehead of his son. "Of course. I actually got you a slice of double red velvet cake for you," Diego added with a smile. He then blushed and smiled some more when Marceline mentioned their own future fun.

"You have all of us to help you," Finn saiod before he gave Morgan a soft kiss. "All I can give you is my heart," Finn added as he hugged her even tighter to try and comfort her.

"Don't remind me." Marceline groaned. "I want him to stay my baby forever." She finished feeding Aurelio and wiped his face. "What makes it double?" She asked as she put the dishes in the sink and picked Aurelio up from his high chair.

Morgan sighed and hugged Finn back, asking, "What if I can't be fixed? What if I'm just broken forever?"

"Well, we all gotta grow up and such," Diego said with a soft expression when he saw Marceline groaned. He went to hug her. "No matter what happens, he'll always be our son and we'll always love him," Diego added, recalling on the wisdom his dad woild tell him. He took out the cake. Besides having two layers, the icing was red along with the cake. "Red icing!" Diego said happily.

"You aren't broken. You just have some stuff to deal with. But maybe... if you meet your mom, you can get past this. And we'll do it together. I'll be by your side," Finn suggested softly. He did not want her to suffer or be consumed by these sort of emotions. It's why he stopped using the Vault.

"I know." Marceline commented handed Diego Aurelio. "I'll clean up the kitchen when I'm done eating." His pjs should be sitting on his dresser."

"Maybe." Morgan replied. "I'll think about, Finn." She wasn't too on the idea but she also know she couldn't keep going on like this.

"I'll go and bathe him. Enjoy your cake, sweetie," Diego told Marceline before he leaned in to kiss Marcy on the cheek. He took Aurelio upstairs and he put on the bath. He remembered the various tips and tricks that he remembered when he was younger. "I wonder what sort of capabilities you'll have, mijo," Diego said softly as he began bathing Aurelio.

Finn just held Morgan tighter before kissing her softly. "What can I do to help?" he asked.
