Jennifer had fallen asleep for the remainder of hours Kevin was at work. It was total of four to five hours. Patricia had put a sufficient amount of fast acting Melatonin which was natural to help aid her sleeping. She was already mentally exhausted so they didn’t want to use anything to harmful. Only a few employee’s and peers at the zoo had questioned Barry’s minor injuries but nothing was thought of it with the type of manteince and janitorial work he did, it wasn’t always safe which is why it paid well.
Barry had taken the light for now. He hadn’t had too much contact with Jennifer and he was ready to give the light to any of the others, they were hesitant to let Dennis but they were all confident they still had everything under control. Barry had quickly changed into something more comfortable, cleaning his work uniform for the next day. As he unlocked the door, he stood in the doorway watching her slowly stir. She heard his voice and knew it was another identity and she was too tired to try to pinpoint which one it was, it got to be so confusing at times. She pushed up on one hand, still underneath layers of blankets, blinking her eyes which were still awfully red, puffy, bloodshot and raw. Her eyes still looked shiny from the medical ointment that was on them as a protectant layer. They would see she hadn’t been awake enough to touch any of the pre-made food. She collapsed back down feeling weak and just kept her eyes closed.
“What’s your work schedule…. I’m guessing your full time or more. I can’t be locked down here forever…” She said, right now she was so tired that she had no filters. At the same time, she was half coherent, while speaking about it. “You’re lucky the police still aren’t questioning you….my adoptive parents are still going to want some sort of proof I’m not dead….” Jennifer pushed out of bed and tried to keep her balance using one hand as she made her way around the bed toward the bathroom. The lights were off minus her night light which was better because she was sentive to lights right now.
