Requiem of Destruction (1x1 with DarkMudkip)

Yukimura's heart could've been ripped from his chest by an ogre and it would've hurt less. He clenched his teeth, trying to steady himself. The woman he had loved all these years had kept his dearest friend captive right under his nose? In his own home no less. "O... Otani Akihime.." A lump formed in his throat, and it was clear saying these words hurt Yukimura more than any battle wound he could receive. "For the heinous crime of unlawful imprisonment... I sentence you under arrest, by the province of Kai."

"Tou-san!" Daihachi yelled, "Don't do this!"
"Yukimura-sama...it would be better for everyone if you just let me leave.." Akihime said. Sasuke pushed himself up, gnashing his teeth.
"The only place you're going is a fucking cage." He spat.

"Daihachi... Please go to one of the guest bedrooms for the night." He said, looking to his son with broken eyes. "Take Minehime-dono with you." It didn't sound like Yukimura would be letting Akihime walk out the front door.

"No!" Daihachi moved in front of Akihime and brandished his bowstaff, "You'll have to get through me first!"
"Oh, good Heavens." Akihime sounded annoyed before she flicked her index and middle fingers in an upward motion. Daihachi was lifted off the ground and he gasped, looking back at her.
"Kaa-san...?!"
"Stop calling me that." She stated coldly before she moved her hand and Daihachi was sent flying out of the room. He yelled in surprise and knocked against the hallway wall.

"Daihachi!" Minehime ran to his side and helped him into a sitting position. "Are you ok?"
"Akihime." Yukimura seemed angry, angry that he had to do this, and angry that his wife would so willingly hurt their only child. He had moved over to her, a heavy frown on his face as he stared down at her. "Stop this. It's over." He said softly, heart throbbing.

She looked up at him and her mind screamed and cursed at her to attack; to send him flying out the window or to cast some offensive spell and slay him right there! But her muscles refused, her body stood motionless before him. She exhaled softly and nodded.
"Hai, Yukimura-sama...I will go willingly." She said softly.
Daihachi looked up at Minehime before his gaze moved to Akihime. He shook his head, "No...No, I'm not..."

Yukimura called for a few attendants who had gathered nearby to watch after hearing the commotion. "Send for healers and medicine, have them tend to Sasuke, I'll be back momentarily." He said, then gently escorted Akihime out of the room and to the dungeons.
"Daihachi... I'm so sorry.." Minehime said quietly, sitting beside him.

"You were right..." He muttered, "She really wasn't who she appeared to be." Tears filled his eyes and he moved to put his arms around her, sobbing weakly, "Sh-She doesn't even care for me, her own son!" He wailed.

Akihime stepped calmly into her cell and turned to face Yukimura. "I had hoped my take over would be a quiet and subtle one. But I suppose Sasuke had other plans..." She said, "I am sorry, Yukimura-sama...for using you..."

Minehime allowed him to hold onto her, hugging him back and holding him close. She rested his head against her shoulder and pet his hair. "I'm so sorry." She whispered to him, doing her best to comfort him.

Yukimura looked even more broken by her words, hesitated before he shut the cell door and locked it. "I'm sorry too." He whispered, holding onto the bars, lingering for a moment before leaving.

"Daisuki desu..." She called after him, "Even though I'm sure that means nothing now...it's true..."

He wheezed and coughed before moving and drying his eyes, "Gomen...I should have trusted you before..."

Yukimura stopped in the door way of the dungeon, looking back at his wife with a pained expression before leaving, closing the door behind him.
As soon as he was gone, Amaya emerged from the shadows, moving over to the cell door. "Akihime-sama, are you alright?"

Minehime shook her head. "It's ok." She squeezed his hand gently, what else could she say? She had just arrived out of the blue and destroyed his family.
Yukimura returned and entered Daihachi's bedroom, Sasuke being treated for his immediate injuries and being fed liquid nutrients to help him recover. Once they were done, Yukimura requested a bedroom he readied for Sasuke, and then they were dismissed.
"Sasuke." He sat down in a chair beside the bed, stinging his hands and frowning softly. "Tell me what happened." His tone was gentle, concerned. "Everything."

Akihime's anger returned swiftly; she screamed and punched the brick walls of her cell until her knuckles were a mangled and bloody mess. She shot magic at everything, nearly hitting Amaya a couple times. "Everything is ruined!" She shouted, "Of course I'm not alright!"

"Everything?" Sasuke repeated, "I've been trying to tell you everything...I don't think you're in a good state right now to finally soak it all in."

Amaya flinched as magic nearly took her antlers off, but she remained where she was. "Akihime-sama, let's leave, we don't need this place any longer." She said, moving closer.

Yukimura shook his head. "I didn't listen to you when you first tried to tell me. Let me listen now." He offered. "Please."

She shot a glare, "Do you want to go get your fucking toy, too? He's the reason I'm even in here." She hissed.

Sasuke sighed and sat up a bit before he started telling Yukimura everything he had gathered and heard. He told Yukimura how it was Akihime's fault Kai was sick to begin with, how she wanted to use him to gain control of Kai, how he heard Daihachi was nothing more than a tool to remain in Kai. He watched Yukikura grow more depressed the more he spoke and he stopped, "I'm sorry, dana...I know she...meant a lot to you...if she weren't trying to rob you of power, I may have left it alone..."

Amaya flinched harder than she did when she was nearly hit with a ball of fire. "No, leave him." She almost struggled to say it. "Tell me what you'd have me do."

Yukimura steeled himself, taking a moment with the signal of a hand and a soft, but shaky breath. "Please, go on." He said, looking to his friend. "If she's committed any more crimes, she will pay for them." Yukimura had grown so much, all without Sasuke's guidance, but he'd need it now.

"Just get me out of here. I don't care where we go. Kai is lost to us." She said.

Sasuke frowned heavily, having the hardest bit of news he would ever have to tell his master; harder than having to confirm his wife's betrayal. "She had Nobuyuki-sama killed, dana.."

As if on cue, the cell lock broke, and Amaya entered the cell, taking Akihime's hand, and opening a portal.

It felt like Yukimura had been sucker punched in the gut, a soft ringing in his ears. "Why?" He asked softly, feeling tears burn at his eyes again.

Akihime followed her willingly, but her heart was aching. Why? Because of Yukimura? Maybe...she didn't know.

"From what I've heard, to get him out of the way. Make her take over easier. She figured Nobuyuki would try to stop her or turn you against her." He said, "I really am sorry, dana...I returned him to his wife, she had him properly buried..."

Yukimura nodded, he didn't need to hear anymore, didn't want to. "Sasuke, you should rest, in the morning I'll send to the other cities of her crimes. For now, I'll personally oversee your recovery." He said.

"Sasuke, please let me be here for you." He asked, giving a soft, sad smile. "Let me... Let me tell you about my son." He sounded so proud.

"He's a good kid... I'm so proud of him. He's kind and he works hard." He stared at his hands as he spoke. "Some days I really do see you in him." He smiled. "Sorry, I'm rambling." He shook his head.

Yukimura smiled more. "Yeah, sometimes, when he's training, he'll get this mischevious sparkle in his eyes. He's smart, sharp- almost like you've trained him yourself. He's quick too." He laughed. "Sometimes I can hardly keep up with him, and I'm not even feeling it in my joints yet."
