Requiem of Destruction (1x1 with DarkMudkip)

Yukimura was alone, doing rounds on the Takeda estate, it being something Yukimura actually enjoyed.

Yukimura immediately looked concerned, stopping and turning to face Sasuke, now having his full attention. "Akihime-dono? Is she alright?"

Sasuke furrowed his brows, "That is irrelevant. She's using you to take control of Kai. Her guardian said so herself." He stated, "We need to send her away."

Yukimura frowned heavily at Sasuke's words. "Akihime-dono is?" He shook his head. "Sasuke, I don't understand, Akihime-dono has done nothing but help us, perhaps you misheard?" He didn't think Sasuke would jump to such conclusions, not without proof.

"Dana, her guardian told me of her plans. Akihime is using you, can you not see it? She has no other reason to stay! She has overstayed her welcome!"

Yukimura frowned more, this couldn't be, Akihime was giving no signs that she was using him, and even if she were hiding it... No his feelings for her, and her feelings for him were true, he could feel it in his heart. "Let's ask Akihime herself then." He said, moving passed Sasuke and heading back toward the estate to find Akihime.

Sasuke stood and followed after him. Akihime was sitting underneath the cherry tree in the shade, enjoying the peace. She looked up when she heard footsteps and she gave a warm and loving smile when she saw Yukimura, "Ohayo, Yukimura-sama.."

Yukimura returned her kind smile with one of his own, feeling his heart skip a beat, then he felt guilt. How could he ask Akihime such a question, it brought him nothing but shame thinking about it. "Akihime-dono... There have been," He hesitated for a moment. "Rumors that you've only come to Kai to gain power from within the Takeda and seize control... That isn't true, is it..?" His smile seemed a bit sad, a flicker of doubt in his eyes.

Her smile dropped and her face contorted into a look of heartbreak. "Seize control? No, never, I am forever grateful to the kindness you have shown me and Amaya while we have been here...! Why would I betray you in such a way...? After admitting our feelings, as well..." Tears filled the corners of her eyes and she looked away, "What a cruel thing to say about me..." "Shut up! Stop lying!" Sasuke snapped, making her gasp and stare with wide terrified eyes. "I have proof!" Sasuke sneered, "You aren't welcome here, witch!" Akihime covered her mouth and rushed off, sobbing loudly.

"Sasuke!!" Yukimura sounded beyond angry; he had never yelled at Sasuke before, not once, and the one time he did was now. Yukimura had both disappointment in his eyes and anger, glaring at Sasuke for a moment before chasing after Akihime, leaving Sasuke to himself.

"Dammit...!" Sasuke hissed, kicking the dirt; he didn't really think that through. Akihime rushed into her room and threw herself on her bed, sobbing hysterically. This was almost too easy.

A soft knock came at Akihime's bedroom door and Yukimura could be heard from behind the door. "Akihime-dono, please understand I wasn't intending to hurt you, Sasuke is very... cautious, please, forgive my callous words."

For the passed couple of days, Minehime had been scheduled for regular check-ups, going off for hours as Hanbei assessed if Minehime was physically and mentally ok- or at least that's what Hidemune was told. Minehime always came back, tired and out of it, but she always said nothing strange ever happened during the check-ups.

The door slid open slowly and Akihime peeked out, cheeks stained with tears, "I-I'm not upset with you, Yukimura-sama...Sasuke was so cruel and heartless..." She hiccuped.

Hidemune was growing more and more suspicious each time she left. Hanbei never really took an interest in any of the living weapons in Osaka before, why would he take such an interest in Minehime now?

Yukimura frowned softly, reaching out and gently wiping away her tears. "I'll talk with Sasuke, how he spoke to you was entirely unacceptable. I assure you he will apologize and make it up to you, his words were unfair entirely."

Minehime, who had just left for another check up not mere minutes ago, weighed heavily on Hidemune's mind. What could Hanbei be doing that required Minehime to need so many doctor visits?

She sniffled and nodded, "Ok...thank you, I appreciate it...you're so kind.."

Hidemune headed off to the infirmary to look for Minehime and ask Hanbei what was going on. But when he saw that they were not in fact there, his heart sank into his stomach. He headed off to the labs, hoping he was wrong.

"Please don't cry anymore, Akihime-dono, I love you, and it hurts me to see you like this.." He said softly.

The lab lights were on, glaring brightly under the door and into the hallway, showing that it was indeed in use. The sounds of beeping and a bone saw could be heard, but other than that, it was eerily quiet.

Her chest ached and she mentally scowled. She wasn't allowed to love anyone. "I love you, too, Yukimura-sama.." She replied with a gentle smile, wiping her eyes with her sleeve.

Hidemune tried to calm his nerves as he moved to the door. He took a breath and pushed it open, his heart pounding loudly in his ears.

((Ditches them for a bit))

The sight before Hidemune wouldn't register in his mind no matter how long he stared. Minehime lay on the table, unmoving while Hanbei stood over her with a bone saw, removing the entirety of her arm from the shoulder down. Her belly was sliced open and the skin and muscle clamped back to reveal organs, some of which were missing; both of her legs were missing, one from the mid-thigh down and the other just below the knee. All of her severed limbs were placed neatly on the metal table behind Hanbei, like a grotesque buffet. When Hanbei felt eyes on him, he looked up, switching off the saw and setting it aside. "Ah, Hidemune-kun, just in time, I needed some assistance, but it seems we're a bit short-staffed at the moment." He picked up Minehime's severed arm and set it on the table behind him. Minehime wasn't strapped down to the table like she had been forced, in fact she was actually wearing a hospital garment, showing she had either put it on, or it was forced on, but it was unlikely they would have changed her clothes had they forced her. An oxygen mask was over her nose and mouth, and was assumed to also apply the gas that kept her unconscious, her hair was pulled back out of the way, and an I.V hooked into her neck.

All color drained from Hidemune's face and he covered his mouth before wretching into a waste bucket nearby. He heaved and coughed before glaring, "What the hell are you doing to her?!"

Hanbei stared at Hidemune, his was mouth covered by a medical mask, so Hidemune couldn't quite see his full expression, but his eyes showed his annoyance clearly. "Hidemune-kun, please do try to make your mess elsewhere, this environment needs to remain sterile." Holding up a bloodied hand he motioned for Hidemune to come closer. "Rest assured, she isn't dead, in fact, quite the opposite. Come, look." He motioned to her left leg- the one severed below the knee- it was healing up. Slowly, but surely, her severed leg was growing back.

His eyes seemed to sparkle at this question, looking away from Hidemune and down at Minehime. "Ah! It started a few weeks ago when I figured out about her regenative powers - see, I thought she healed at the same rate and you or me, but that isn't so - any part of her body removed will eventually grow back, however, there does seem to be an exception." He motioned to her horn stump. "Injuries inflicted using another living weapon, seem to be permanent. It is just a theory though." He said, the proceeded to poke around at her innards. "Now if you will, please sanitize yourself and assist me with this, I'd like to get these samples delivered so we may proceed." This still didn't answer Hidemune's question: why was he doing this?

Hidemune had no but to obey, entering the sterilisation area and getting cleaned before putting on the proper gear and heading back over, "Hanbei-sama, please, tell me why ?" He didn't want to look at Minehime, he knew he would vomit again for sure.

Hanbei removed a good portion of her intestines, placing it into the dish set aside before looking to Hidemune once more. "Technological advancement and a growth in military power." He said simply, as if it were obvious. "If we can create more living weapons without destroying any in the process, we gain a substantial gain in military power."
