Requiem of Destruction (1x1 with DarkMudkip)

“Y-Yes my lady..” Jin said, feeling rather uncomfortable when Akihime grabbed her hands, but she didn’t pull away.

Akihime smiled more and walked along with her to the garden. Kojurou saw Jin as he was walking toward the secret memorial he crafted for Masamune and was going to walk with her but stopped when he noticed Akihime. He turned the other way, figuring he could just talk to Jin later.

Jin hardly noticed Kojurou, walking with Akihime rather stiffly. Everything about this made her uncomfortable, but she bit her tongue and endured it, allowing Akihime to believe she was her deceased friend.

They moved into the shade of a tree in the gardens and Akihime sighed happily, relaxing against Jin and holding her hand tighter, "I missed you, Ama...I was so worried when you vanished...I'm glad you came home. You don't have to tell me why you left...I'm just glad you came back..."

Jin sat awkwardly, allowing her hand to be held as she stared at the ground before her feet. “As am I..” She didn’t know if what she was saying was right, but when she had tried to tell Akihime she was not her friend Amaya, she was only met with a negative reaction.

Obviously it seemed that dealing with it was the better option. Her responses seemed to be enough for Akihime, the unstable mage not reacting violently at all. They sat like that for a while longer before Akihime stood and released Jin's hand, "Thank you for sitting with me, Ama...I hope we can do it again soon..." She smiled softly.

Jin bowed her head. “Of course, Akihime-sama, anytime.” She said, waiting for her to leave before she stood and returned to her own bedchambers.

Kojurou moved into the room later on, finishing training what was left of Masamune's men, as well as visiting his son. He didn't quite have the heart yet to tell Jin that Shigenaga had been drafted into Akihime's army, but he knew the day was fast approaching, "Tadaima..." He announced gently, voice exhausted.

Jin had already finished preparing dinner for the night, as she did every night, setting a place for Kojurou regardless if he showed or not. “Okaeri nasai.” She greeted, moving over and taking his coat. Hanging it up, she returned to Kojurou, helping him remove his chestplate. “How was training?”

He groaned, shrugging off the chest plate and taking off the awful purple garments to wear his night clothes adorned in the Date crest, "Dreadful. No one wanted to do anything, they were all worried about Masamune-sama." He averted his gaze, rubbing the scars on his knuckles, "I can't find the strength to tell them."

Jin only gave his knuckles a glance as she set aside his armor and folded the purple generals garb. “You will.” She set his folded clothes with his armor and turned to look at him. “I know you can.” She moved over and cupped his cheeks, kissing him gently. “There never will be a good time to tell them, they deserve to know.”

He kissed back, resting his hands gently on her arms, "I know. They do. He was their Lord as much as he was mine. It's just...very difficult..." He muttered, "I deserve no more than death for failing to protect him...but I suppose Akihime would be upset if I committed suicide...and I don't want anything happening to you or Shigenaga..."

Firm hands cupped Kojurou’s face, Jin bringing his head up to look him in the eyes. “Death is not the answer Masamune-sama would’ve wanted for you.” She said firmly. “You take this pain, and endure it.” She said, again, voice gentle but firm. “You are not alone.”

He exhaled and gave a firm nod, "I will.." He muttered, "Shigenaga sends his regards...the clean up in Oshuu is taking a lot longer than we had anticipated.." Lying to her hurt, but if she knew that Shigenaga was maintaining a martial law in Oshuu for Akihime, Jin would do one of two things: break into hysterics or try to kill Akihime. Neither of which was what he wanted.

Jin rubbed his cheek with her thumb, smiling softly. “I miss him every day.” She said soddly, then steered him toward the small table. “Come, your food will get cold.”

He nodded and ate silently with her, enjoying the quiet company with his wife. He would probably go to bed early tonight, wanting the energy to deal with the soldiers who would rather mope around over Masamune rather do what they could to honor him, despite the poor state the Date clan was in now due to his choice. Still, there were villages and people who survived due to Masamune's sacrifice, and that was enough.

Once their meal was finished, Jin cleaned up the table and did the dishes in the small kitchen her room had. After finishing cleaning up, she changed into her night clothes, joining Kojurou in her bed, laying beside him and gently stroking his face.

Jin frowned softly, but continued to brush his hair from his face and give small caresses. “Yes.” She said quietly, tracing the scar on his cheek with her fingers.

Jin shook her head. “She believes me to be her dearest friend, and while concerning, I do not think I am in too much danger..” She almost didn’t sound sure herself, but regardless, tried to comfort Kojurou.

“Enjoy your time in the garden?” Tachi’s voice rang out from the corridor behind Akihime as she finally made her way back toward her old room, the living weapon almost seeming to have been waiting for Akihime.

"And a good evening to you, too, Tachi." Akihime greeted, glancing back at where his voice came from, "And how are we today? How is Ishida? I haven't seen him in a while." For once, she didn't seem to be speaking snidely to him, she was actually...pleasant.
