Requiem of Destruction (1x1 with DarkMudkip)

Megohime slept peacefully, only stirring when she heard footsteps approaching the two. Her ears swiveled and her eyes opened, nose twitching as she registered it was well passed sundown, and the person approaching them was Kojurou.

"This is where you two have been?" Kojurou said. Masamune looked up at him and gently rested his hand on Megohime's head.
"Just keeping Mego company..." Masamune said.

Megohime looked to Kojurou, then looked away with a soft grunt, resting her head back on Masamune’s lap. ”He’s probably here for you.”

"You have work to do, Masamune."
"It can wait.." Masamune said dismissively, "Mego needs me right now."
"Well, excuse my rudeness, but Megohime needs to get over herself." Kojurou stated. Masamune turned his head to glare.
"What?"

Megohime picked her head up and snarled softly, but immediately got a sad look in her eyes, turning her head away from Kojurou.

"You are not helping her by sitting here and coddling her. She is a very grown adult woman who needs to handle this as such. Not like a child who lost their favorite toy in a cave." Kojurou stated.
"She had her dead husband used to hold her hostage!" Masamune argued.
"And that is indeed a tragedy. However it is done now and she needs to stop moping. She's done enough moping about it to last serval lifetimes. In fact, she has. Now let's go." Kojurou stated firmly.

Megohime slowly got to her feet, whiskers lashing as she moved closer to Kojurou, teeth bared at him. Electricity crackled from inside her mouth, her pupils fine slits as she stared down Kojurou. ”How dare you!”

He looked up at her with a scowl before smacking her snout as if punishing a dog. "That is quite enough."
"Kojurou!" Masamune jumped up but Kojurou held up his hand to stop him.

Megohime recoiled, making a small chirp before she was suddenly in human form, staring ahead with a stunned expression. “What do you know?” She muttered, looking up at him. “You still have the one you love.”

"As I said, it is very tragic what happened to you and I am deeply sorry your emotions were toyed with in such a way. But it has been over a thousand years and it is time to move on." He stated, "Your honored husband would not want you crying about like this over him. That I know for a fact." Kojurou stated.

“For a fact?” Megohime balled up her fists, glaring up at Kojurou. “Well you know what I know for a fact?” She hissed. “Had I not helped you and your wife multiple times, she’d be in the ground and you’d still be a mess in your bedroom while your sister cared for your halfbreed son.”

"Mego, take it easy.." Masamune said gently, for once being level headed. Kojurou tried to remain calm, scowling as he placed his hands on his hips.
"At least my spouse is alive." He shot back coldly, "All you have is a memory and bitterness. You don't care a thing for Masamune."
"Kojurou, hey, that's enough." Masamune stated.

Megohime went red in the face, shaking slightly. “You know nothing of my feelings for Masamune!” She hissed, smacking him hard across the face.

"Mego!" Masamune pulled her back, "That's enough!" Kojurou rubbed his cheek and scowled.
"Why a man would sacrifice so much for a spoiled child is beyond me."
"Kojurou!" Masamune snapped, eye slitting, "Enough!"

Smoke curled from Megohime’s lips and she glared at Kojurou. “I should’ve left your wife how she was, perhaps I’ll do you one last favor by returning her to her rightful mental state.”

"Megohime!" Masamune was screaming in her face now, "Stop!" Kojurou snorted and turned to leave.
"You should have just left her in that cave. Oshuu would be better off." He said coldly.

Megohime looked down at the forest floor, feeling shame in her chest. She returned to her dragon form, then took flight, rocketing off so quickly, it nearly knocked them both off their feet.

Megohime seemed to have left in the direction of the estate, moving fast enough to blow the trees back when she passed them.

The estate was peaceful, all the servants preparing for the end of the night as per usual, all silently going about their final tasks for the night. They all bowed to Masamune, none seeming particularly spooked or even slightly startled, perhaps Megohime hadn’t come back to the estate? Entering his room he found the window to the balcony open, no, she had definitely come home, probably just off sulking somewhere.

As everyone settled for the night, Kojurou returned to Jin already asleep in bed, a book resting against her chest. Even though her mind was restored, she tired rather easily, so finding her asleep wasn’t something out of the usual, even in the middle of the day. She always felt so guilty after she woke however, always apologizing to Kojurou for leaving him with more work to do, but her illness refused to let up.
Shigenaga had already been laid to sleep some time ago by Kita, asleep peacefully in his room.

Kojurou smiled softly, never once minding her naps. He was just glad to have her home. He kissed her head gently and moved to go check on Shigenaga.

When Kojurou entered the room, the oil lamps were already extinguished, but the moonlight shining through the window illuminated the room. Two glowing red eyes stared back at Kojurou from beside the Shigenaga’s crib, a small figure standing over the babe. “He already looks so much like you.” It was Megohime, her voice oddly even.
