"I wasn't jealous!" Alex immediately shot back. She didn't get jealous! Jealousy was for people who were insecure, and Alex sure as hell wasn't insecure about anything! (Except maybe in her ability to keep a woman). "And I always make out with slutty redheads and brunettes and blondes...why the hell are you jealous this time?!" Now it was Alex's turn to indignantly glare. Tessa never gave her shit about her life choices before! She didn't understand why the other girl had to set up a trap for her this time. "I'm not jealous I'm just trying to protect you! Your business -is- my business when we're out and you've been drinking, cause, you know, you're small and inexperienced. You don't know how to handle yourself Tessa! Case in point you set out to make me jealous and you pick a jackass that hits women to do it with." This was insanity, she couldn't believe she was having this argument with Tessa. Her best friend, straight Tessa, was not supposed to be trying to make her jealous.
"Coward?!?!" Of course that was the only word Alex really heard in that sentence. It made her stand up a little straighter, her face harden in seriousness a little more. She wasn't a coward! (Maybe she didn't like having serious talks about stuff and would avoid them, but that didn't make her a coward!) Ugh! Alex wasn't good at arguments like this, especially emotionally charges ones with women. Usually her altercations ended up in a fist fight or her storming out...Alex didn't like to feel as though she had lost. Rather than have a normal conversation, Alex just got a little more crazy and aggressive with each insult. But Tessa was the one to back off first and that was enough to let Alex cool down without feeling like she had been beaten. Her eyes closed and more aggression just melted off of her as soft fingers traced along her sore jawline. A kiss to her lips had her dialing down further, until Alex finally felt like her usual self again.
"Tess...I just don't want you to do something you regret... It's easier to be straight, you know? So if you can be that, you should be that." Alex looked vulnerable for a moment as she confessed her rationale for staying away. Being gay was what had alienated her from the rest of her family. Being gay earned her a homeless life on the streets when she was 16...and it was still fucking her over in her adult life with assholes like the guy who had just called her a 'dyke'. She didn't want Tessa to have to deal with all that bullshit. Ugh...but as usual, what she was saying and what she was doing were two different things. Alex was telling Tessa to be straight but returning all of her kisses and wrapping her arms around the girl to draw her in closer.
"Are you crazy? Of course I'm interested...just..." Really shouldn't do this. Really shouldn't do this. This is such a bad idea... "Let's not let it get weird, okay? We work together, you're my friend...I don't want to fuck up whatever we already have to do whatever the hell it is we're doing." Alex sighed softly and rested her forehead against Tessa's, taking comfort in their closeness because now she had to ruin their prospective night with some seriousness. "Not like we can do much of anything about it right now though...my jaw is killing me, I think I'm outta commission for the night." Alex wasn't strapped tonightShe could use her fingers she supposed, but they weren't nearly as talented as her mouth, and she highly doubted Tessa would want to go own on her.
