Researching, taking advantage, helping, curing, they all meant one thing at Eternal Peaks. Jay was right. The practices employed were not only to understand his supernatural power, but to somehow employ and use it for their own ends. But that was the Science department’s prerogative, not Rupi’s. She ignored his angry remarks, but flush with satisfaction when he agreed to work. That she took with a hint of skepticism as well, knowing it probably would not last. But if it did, Rupi had every intention of giving the siren to the demon. If it helped the Institute understand what made his brain tick, she was willing to make the sacrifice.

“You won’t regret this, JD6666.” Rupi said, repeating the serial number to affirm just who was in charge here. Her eyes widen with surprise when a sleeve of flame suddenly crackled from nowhere around Jay, a burst of heat slapping against her body like a heavy wind storm. Before she knew, another hand grasped her shoulder and yanked her out, separating her from demon. Rupi let loose a breath she did not realize she had been holding. This is what I meant. Dangerous. In the greater world, who knows what atrocities he had committed. He reminded herself. This creature, this thing, was not something she could trust, even if she did bargain with it.

“Thank you, ma’am.” Rupi said respectfully to the female guard who approached her, straightening out her lab jacket and checking for any scorch marks. It would just be her luck if she ruined two coats in a single day. “I only have psych evaluations to conduct with our new patients. You may accompany me if you wish, though I can’t promise a day full of excitement as you might find on this Block.” Rupi said, waving her hand disdainfully at the level full of dangerous patients and troublemakers. Then she remembered how those traits applied to patients of all levels. She turned and smiled at Natalie. “I would appreciate it, actually.” She said in a light tone, before turning to gaze at her clipboard and write up a report on her recent interaction with Jay, striding slowly down the hall.

While she did want action, it was also a part of her job to make sure the doctors of the facility stayed intact, and this doctor seemed to be having a bad day. So Natalie figured that she might as well keep her secure through the rest of their shift, as the day seems to be coming to a speedy end already, what with the new arrivals and all.

Natalie nods. "Lead the way, Doctor." She says, reaching to her own chest carrier and clipping her SA80 to it, making sure it's secure and on its safety before looking up again.

She had gotten the memo already. Not long after she had settled down for a nap she had been rudely disturbed by a guard holding a note and telling her to get her ass moving. Grudgingly Nysali had opened the note to find a scrawled order by Dr. Arellano.

"Looks like I'm the mad doctor's assistant today. Lucky me."

Following the guard out, she followed him to Cell Block B to retrieve the parcel inside Dr. Arellano's office. She didn't even look inside the box, knowing the crooked doctor probably had some awful torturous device inside. She just prayed it wasn't for her. He had two monstrous items that kept her in line, and neither she wanted to dwell on long.

"C'mon," the guard nodded her along but she only rolled her eyes as she caught him staring at her ass. She really didn't need an escort to go two floors, but he was obviously not thinking about his duties as much as he was wondering what it would take to peek down her pants. As it was the guard would end up keeping her from arriving on time, preoccupying her with his tongue down her throat as they rode down the elevator. She left him breathless and confused as she bounced out and into the hall of Cell Block C, skipping and smiling to herself until she saw the nefarious doctor.

"You rang?" she sighed, losing a touch of her bubbliness as she handed him his parcel. She quite hated Dr. Arellano, mostly due to the metal mask like device he kept in his office under lock and key meant solely for her. It could attach itself to her jaw and latch into the skin, and reached just above her eyes. It kept her from talking by covering her mouth, and it hurt with its pinchers that acted like staples in her skin. Too many times had she endured that punishment, going without food for days with it on.

Rufio was just tossing his styrofoam cup into the trash when his assigned assistant chose to make herself known. He openly let his eyes drop to take in her swaying hips as she strode towards him, before bringing his eyes back up at her comment. His face was passive at first, looking down at the parcel she handed towards him. For a moment, he felt the familiar tingles of fiery rage. Not only was she late, but she also wanted him to carry the parcel about like some bell hop? The veins in his hands began to bulge as he flexed his arm, closing his hand into a fist and opening it.

He didn’t care if there were guards around. With lightning speed, he reached out and grabbed the beautiful siren by her hair, yanking her close. “First you’re late,” he sneered into her ear, “then you disrespect me by handing the package off to me like some common mail man? Idiot!” Rufio snapped, using her hair to heave her painfully to a nearby table. He closed in after her, his features snarling as he stepped to her, inches apart and using his imposing form to intimidate her.

“Do you need another lesson in etiquette? You know I won’t hesitate to strip you and make you follow me around stark-naked. And when you speak to me, you say doctor or sir, got it?” Rufio demanded, his cruel cold eyes glaring into her face, waiting for an apology from her. “If you aren’t going to speak to me properly, I would rather not have you speaking at all. Shall we have you go and fetch another item from my office?” He threatened her again, demanding yet a second apology on top of the first. He really enjoyed grilling his patients, relishing their fear and terror.

“Now come along, we have an appointment with patient ZM1234…” he said, turning to head there.

Rupi nodded verbally to Master Specialist Dayton attaching herself to her form. The bite marks on her arm were still healing and she could still feel the remnants of the wave of heat from Jay's little show of force. She could do with some protection. "To Cell Block B," she promptly orders, once she finished filling out what detail she could on Jay's psychiatric report. "And if you are going to be working with me, Master Specialist, do try and seem less imposing and threatening. Patients are more willing to talk if they don't feel cornered or challenged. Do you understand me?" Rupi stated, as she headed towards the elevator that would take her to the next floor above.

Before they reached it however, they passed the guard station, a small breakroom set aside for the men and women who patrolled this level. Rupi was not expecting anything, but she paused when she heard commotion within. There she saw Dr. Rufio Arellano hurling threats upon Nysali, the very same siren that Jay had requested. For a moment she merely watched the display with an impassive stare, utterly uncaring for the poor siren who got on the doctor’s bad side. She waited until the scene passed, for Dr. Arellano turned and caught sight of them watching. And no doubt Nysali would as well.

Rupi merely glanced at the siren, then back to Rufio. “Be so kind as to send her to me when you are done with her.” She said to her colleague. “I have an urgent assignment for her.”

Once content with delivering this message and receiving his response, Rupi nods towards Natalie and continues to walk towards the elevator.

Rufio saw the caramel skinned doctor and paused for a moment, gazing at her. He wasn’t ashamed that someone saw him cruelly disciplining a patient. If it wasn’t for Rupi’s status as a fellow doctor, she might be in the same position as Nysali was. Rufio had no boundaries, but he did adhere to company policy in regards to relations with fellow staff. He quirked his eyebrows at the woman’s request but shrugged. “When I’m done with her, she’s yours. She has no use for me.” He said disdainfully, glancing at Nysali. He raised a sudden threatening hand, as if to strike her. “What are you gawking at? Get a move on!” He roared at the siren.

"Seems like the doctor has plans for you." Rufio then goaded at her as they walked to Zach's cell. "Have you had the privilege of playing with her before?"

The woman’s unnaturally green eyes continued to follow the man, his panic filling the room to the grogons delight. The panic ridden mist began to fade once the mirage had begun to fade – the mortal’s eyes only finally adjusting and catching her. While most underestimated her – the blonde was brilliant and easily wriggled her way into anyone’s head.

“Peaccce Jakob. Think about it… All thossse gone and loved… Anything you want… Anything.” She breathed, her words bouncing off the concrete walls while the sound of her claws making contact with the glass broke the air, her body slowly slinking down the room. “A world where money doesssn’t matter.”

The woman’s eyes looked down, a soft florescent glow emanating from her otherwise dark forest green orbs.

“Why wassste my talentsss.” The woman moaned, her pitch heightening a fraction, her head swaying slightly as she studied the floor around her, still happy to toy with the man – even if the darkness no longer clung to her perfectly slender form. Teya tasted the air, feeling out the man further more. “But you all have a weak sspot… What iss yourss little human?”

Even as the man’s composure began to slither back to him, allowing him to push himself up and into the middle of the room while she paced the outer wall of the otherwise small and ingloriously ugly concrete wall.

“You sssay you’re not sscared… But your heart iss sstill higher… And your sstill my toy…” Her words cooed, the sound of her claws moving from glass to cement – still hung heavily within the dingy room. “I’m no sstranger to human inssight…”

As his sight moved with her and his action’s became bolder, her eyes remained down while her other hand came up to graze his side with more force as the creature continued to play. What was his key word? What would trigger that sense to allow her into his brain? All she needed to do was keep poking and the blonde would be able to push the fog deeper into his mind.

Jakob takes a shaky breath, she could hear his heartbeat and he had forgotten about it. His eyes follow her as she moves, the fact that she was making this noise and saying all of these hopeful words made him want to find out what this new world was.

"Sorry Teya, if I die, I'm going to hell for my sins, no peace there." He says to the gorgon. "I don't care about my needs or about money.. Never mind, I do care about money, that's why I'm standing here.. But you can't possibly give me anything I want." He says. He takes note that he is taller than this gorgon, though only by a few inches, she would have to look up at him to do anything.

He also notices the dark glow coming from her eyes. "I do have a weak spot, but unless you are good at naming places in the world, you're not going to find it." He says to her. He starts to lose a little bit of his composure, this was becoming too much for him.

"If you would stop with the hissing and the whole I'm your 'toy' thing, maybe by heart wouldn't be beating so fast." He breathes, his hand is still pressed tightly to the goggles. He watches her move closer, in a scenario where he meets this woman in a restaurant or bar, he probably would've tried to take her home.

His breath hitches when she grazes his side, but it returns to normal while his head swings around to watch her. "You're beautiful, why do you waste that in the dark?" He asks while shuffling so that he is facing her. The glowing light coming from her eyes, he assumes, must be how she sees in the dark. "And your probably have beautiful eyes.. But you use them to kill people, I understand where you come from though I don't understand why you would want me dead, I'm no doctor." He says.

"See, I graduated school with some pretty bad grades, so I became a soldier instead of getting my phD." He says. The memories of his home and his story starts to calm him down, pretty soon he is quietly talking about memories of family and school to her, playing these scenarios out in his head while he mentions them. He stays on guard, however, making sure that she wouldn't try anything.

Soon enough his heart is back to a normal tempo, sweat no longer beads on his forehead, he seems to have calmed down completely.

Nysali had not expected to be thrown so roughly. Honestly this man needed a pussy to fuck...he just steamed with pent up tension. She did her best not to roll her eyes as he leaned in close and started barking orders. Don't do this. Call me that.

"You'll make me strip naked?" She asked, a touch of excitment in her voice, "am I allowed to do that doctor?"

She wiggled in his grasp, although she knew none of this was a joke. But Nysa didn't like to think of the alternatives, or that damn mask in his office.

"You won't want to silence me just yet. My voice is a handy tool and you know it," now she was just trying to save her own skin. She hated the devices they used on her. Ruining her perfect skin, cutting off her voice for days. Horrid.

"I'll behave," she batted her big lashes, her voice like honey to any mortal mans ears. She wasn't using her gifts, but even without adding power to her voice she was all too beautiful, "as long as you do. Your awfully close sir. Have I become too...alluring for you?"

Just then Dr. Rupi Vera cut in, ruining the tension building between the doctor and his patient. Not that she wanted to sleep with such a cruel man, but if it got her out of wearing that mask she would. They spoke for a few seconds as if she wasn't in the room, not more than an object to be passed around. She crossed her arms and waited, then ducked as Dr. Arellano threatened to hit her. Grabbing the parcel she scurried ahead, although she had no idea where they were going.

"Violence isn't the answer," she quoted loudly, "hugs not drugs Dr. Arellano."

She looked over her shoulder smiling innocently at him, "just bringing some morale to our little team. Go us! Woo!"

It was the fakest cheer she could give, drooling with sarcasm as she stopped short outside...oh hey, it's Silver's cell.

"And yes I have," Nysa retorted back, "She's much more fun than you though. You never smile. I never got to ask. Did you break something in your face or did your mommy kill your puppy when you were young?"

Kaige knew the silence growing between them was not a good thing. The only thing that was a good thing with Rufio was his exit. She waited, knowing there would be some kind of retaliation. As always, it was something she could not have prepared herself for nonetheless. He moved, quick as lightening. Kaige was convinced he must possess his own supernatural ability. Striking her across the face, she felt the slap resonate. Her entire head turned from the force of the blow, but she quickly moved back, starring into his eyes. There was no look of shock. Only hate. She caught a glimpse of him just before he lunged for her, slamming her once more into the wall behind her. This time was different though. This time was harder. Kaige wondered had she touched a nerve? Did she piss Rufio off? No. He was just being an ass, and she knew it. He was just being himself, throwing his weight around, inflicting pain. Her head slammed into the wall once more, this time with more momentum. The sound was gruesome to her. She closed her eyes as the ache flooded her head, a true mistake. When he tossed her to the ground, she literally didn’t see it coming. The ice cracking, giving immediately under her body weight as her naked flesh suddenly impacted against it. Involuntarily Kaige let out a shriek at the bitter cold. Beneath the ice was a layer frigid slush that clung to her skin. Her first instinct was to move to get away from it, but Rufio was on top of her, shoving her face back down to the floor with his boot. The shards from the freshly broken ice scratching her skin as he treated her face like a cigarette he was extinguishing.

‘Vile scum’ she knew that was how Rufio saw her, but she also knew he didn’t believe his own words. ‘Useless.’ If he really felt that way, if any of them felt that way, then they would have no use for keeping them locked up and performing their awful experiments on them. Rufio was lying to himself. It was a ploy, a means to make them all feel less than deserving of anything, but Kaige didn’t buy it. She knew better. Even with his boot firmly on her face, leaving its imprint on her skin, she still knew better.

He moved, finally releasing her, and headed for the door. Quickly she moved from the floor and found her feet just as he looked back. Rufio wasn’t afraid. He had no reason to be. Kaige was expending her energy on preserving her own life. As much as she wanted to hurt him, to kill him, she wanted to live to see him dead and to see this place fall. ‘Gifts,’ she thought, tilting her head at him. The door closed, and she listened to him speaking to the guards. Her eyes widened in terror. ‘VP06 and AP08.’ She knew the items well, better than she cared to. ‘No,’ she thought, shaking her head. ‘No!’

His footsteps carried him from the cell as the sound of the generators shutting down could be heard. It was quieter now. “NO,” she called out, surprising the guards. Over and over again, as the temperature began to rise within the room, Kaige began to send out small fireballs that seemed to be absorbed into the wall as they charred it. She was relentless, but her efforts could not go for long. Exhausted from depleting her energy, she sank down to the floor where she finally passed out.

“See? Give these animals something nice like warmth, and they yell and cause damage. Maybe we should turn them back on,” one joked.

“No. It’ll kill her. Dr. Arellano would kill you then.”

The first guard snarled. “Stupid bitch burned my hands,” he told him, holding up his red, blistered hands.

The second guard smiled. “I’ll bet next time you’ll be more careful.”

Of course, Rufio had forgotten. Nysali was a siren, a creature prone and desirous of sexual relations and sexual relations only. Threatening to strip her naked and march her down these corridors for all to see would be a blast for the woman. Rufio snorted to himself as he heard her responses, evidently unworried of his threats as they strode to ZM1234’s cell. Violence isn’t the answer. Hugs not drugs. You never smile. Did your mommy kill your puppy when you were young?

“I kill my own puppies.” Rufio replied in a neutral tone, as if it was the most casual thing in the world to do for him. “And I could kill you too if you don’t shut your mouth.” He retorted, before once more grabbing Nysli and slamming her into the wall by Zach’s cell, edging close to her. He did like being close to her. Why not? She was beautiful, ravishing. Anyone with a brain and a set of eyes could see that. The woman practically oozed sex and attraction.

“You’re right. Violence isn’t the answer, at least not for you.” Rufio whispered in a threatening tone to her. “You would enjoy that, huh? Being hugged, being taken turns on by the entire department of guards. But that won’t be for you. I know how to deal with you.” He sneered with sudden confidence, pinning her between his own body and the wall. With one arm, he reached behind her, his hand stroking down her back and right to her rear, grabbing it unashamedly and lewdly.

“I have a certain little device I’d like to stick you in. A rack, some might call it. But not for torture. Oh no, for you, it’ll only be pleasure and fun. All the sexual stimulation you could want. And right when you are on the cusp…” Rufio grinned and stepped back from her, removing his hand and presence and snapping his fingers, “denied. You will be brought to the brink of orgasm, then denied the fruit of it. You will be brought down, then started up again, pleasured to the point of climax…then forbidden. And when you have been driven sufficiently crazy by the never ending false offers, perhaps I can come to you. And perhaps you will ask me politely to be given the release you so desire.” And by that, Rufio meant begging and pleading.

Then he snarled and without warning, swung his arm and smacked her in the back of the head. “And that’s where you’re going to end up if you act up again. Shut up and take notes like a good little bitch and maybe you can have a treat at the end of the day.” Rufio told her, then turned and strode into Zach’s cell.

“And here we have the rebel without a cause. Wake up, shit for brains.” Rufio insulted as a way of greeting, standing with his arms crossed before the patient.

Nysa lay on the floor, stun for seconds as she blinked back angry tears. And that was why she hated this man. Try and be nice and he's only crueler. Try to make a joke and he hits her. She could feel the bruise under her eye already forming. Fuck she'd have to walk around with it for the rest of the day before it faded. Turning her head she looked into the open cell, catching the eye of the boy with silver hair. How did she look right now, splayed out on the floor, bruise forming on her cheek.

With a sigh she pushed the bitter pain growing at the back of her head where the wall had met her roughly and stood up once more. If he was in this kind of mood it be best to hold her tongue. Picking the know somewhat tattered parcel she had been holding she stepped into the cell and closed the door softly, keeping her eyes on the wall. She didn't need to see Dr. Arellano's pissy looks or the kids concern - if he even was concerned. There was a small chair in the corner with a pad of paper and pen and she took it, sitting down and bowing her head. Why the hell they needed the patients to take notes was beyond her. They had secretaries. They had nurses. God they had enough money to buy note takers. But for some ungodly reason they kept picking patients, making them sit through boring and tedious hours of note taking.

"Ready...sir," her words were clipped, void of her happy mood around this monster until she could escape his clutches.

Cell Block C Zach's Cell
Tag: Dr. Arellano, Nysali

When Zach had been returned to his cell, he looked down to his feet and leaned in the corner. How sanity can be found in this horrible white room is beyond most. With his arms bound as they were for so long, he began to wonder how they were doing down there. The tingling sensation, like lightning and nails shooting through his arms, had seized a few days ago. Being able to feel the damned things against the jacket was at least comforting. Like a message from someone he loved, saying they were okay and they moved on. Though such a thought would be tragic to most new patients, Zach had been and totured by the best. And not just to see how he ticks, or for someone's sadistic musings, Zach was beaten and cut into to make him release his power on a number of guards in his time. Their lives would be forever changed if their limbs weren't allowed to escape their body eventually, and Zach was now in that same position.

He earned this jacket. With a mix of obviously giving up on life numerous times, and a willingness to meet his end, his old torturers had thrown him into that Block C punishment for some time. Like an orange squished dry, there was no more juice to be had. So they dropped Zach into this used bin to clean their hands and let other professionals see what they can do. Sadly, the confinement had brought back some pulp to Zach. Think and rethink, he couldn't kill himself in this damm jacket and the amusement to be had vocally was all a lie. Cynical, hardened, the tall and thin man once had dreams of protecting people. Now those seemed to be lost. How can his life be useful for anyone else when he cannot safe himself?

And at that question, it came flooding back every time. How impossible it had seemed, escaping this hell. But, that flood numbed his critical factories as the fantasy fueled him. The intention of the jacket and the cell was to hold Zach until the actual freaks with PH.d's had found any use for an orange squeezed dry. In a way, it only protected him from himself until he was ready to revolt once again. With his grey hair against him and the wall, his leaning body trying to submerge him in this little pocket. To try and hide his face as his previously crippled frown was over run by his big smile. He found it again. The will to live and fight. He didn't even contemplate Rufio's declaration and the possibility of that Siren's whispers robbing him of his convictions. Even as the duo approached his cell.

He didn't expect it. The smack, the thud, the cruel words of the shorter man, the grip on his heart. How his charming smile dropped at her voice. Even with the cell door opened, Zach's convictions were put to a serious test and he stood on place. He couldn't process what was important, not if he opened his mouth first and thought second. His boyish heart used to demand action, but he found the time to think and think he did. As heartbreaking that woman's pain had been, he covered his reaction and pulled his big smile back up. His conclusions were simple, Rufio's damage to the pair would only increase if Zach provoked him or let his concern for Nysali be obvious. "Shit for brains, hmm?" Zach spoke with his calm composure. "And here I thought you finally found a man to pick on." Zach made his way out of the Cell and to his appointed chamber. His brown eyes on Rufio as he did. The show had to start before they would ever find an end. Zach's smile lost its grin-like qualities as he entered said Chamber and didn't look to Nysali. He left no sign of any actual concern. Given Zach's track record of putting other patients in harms way by provoking and attacking guards, a well-read individual, like Rufio, would have no reason to think of Nysali's pain as a way to get to Zach. Though she remained an effective tool to carry out his plots without putting himself in harms way.

Nysali was all but ignored now, no longer the focus of Rufio’s attention. Before him stood a real test of his learned abilities and sadistic compulsions. Patient ZM1234 was an idealist from what he knew, able to hide himself away from the pain and misery that were the trademarks of Rufio’s talents. But this patient he had plenty of run-ins before and frankly, most assumed there was nothing left to be had from this one. In terms of research, Zach was spent. He offered little to no hope of further findings or revelations about his abilities. Not once did Rufio regard the patient as little more than useless expenditure, but a part of him insisted on keeping the happy fool about. He felt there was still something to be garnered from him.

“Oh?” Rufio mused at ZM1234’s remarks. “And you believe you are this man that is supposed to be my equal? Hah, don’t make me laugh.” He retorted with a smirk, glancing at Nysali for a second before approaching the straight-jacked restrained patient. Arms locked away, there was little Zach could do. “You are anything but a man. More like…refuse. Useless, wretched garbage. But one man’s garbage is another man’s treasure, as they say. And I’m going to find some useful out of you.” Rufio sneered as he approached Zach, coming very near to the man. And leaning in, he added; “Even if it kills you in the attempt.” He promised in a whisper. Then he kicked his foot out behind Zach’s ankles and pushed forward, sweeping them off the floor and dropping the fool on his behind.

Rufio turned around, not bothering to watch the fall out of his little humiliating assault. He turned to face Nysali, regarding her for a moment with a smile. “Or if it kills anyone else for that matter.” He added in a casual tone, giving her a wink. She was just as equally expendable, though she served a more useful purpose in some areas. He strode over to Nysali, but only to grab a copy of Zach’s former physical from months ago, snatching the paper from her hands and looking at it. Then he handed it back without even looking at her. “Just copy these results over.” He told her. “There’s no need to actually get our hands dirty with this fool.” He remarked. “There’s something else I want to try. Open the parcel and make it quick, idiot.” He instructed Nysali, smirking at Zach the entire time.

“Let’s see if your so-called abilities are worth their weight. At least this will prove if they even exist.” Rufio explained, holding out his hand and waiting for Nysali to pop the strange medallion looking item from inside the parcel in his palm.

What was this fool thinking? He had just seen Nysa get hurt, and she had the black eye to prove it, and yet here he was poking the bear. She waited till Rufio was looking at Zach and then gave him a piercing gaze while shaking her head quickly, motioning for him to cool it before Nysa got the back hand of the deal. Rufio definitely seemed to get his kicks from hurting people, and she wondered if it bordered on arousal. He certainly seemed please to rub up against her before smacking her down.

When his gaze turned on her she was watching him warily and she flinched back as he stepped close, his words making her coil back ready for his strike. But instead he only took the paper, waving it up before slapping it back down in her lap. Good lap dog. Write lap dog. Sit lap dog. Give me lap dog her thoughts hissed, angry at the way he was treating her. She was a siren. A woman oozing with control over mortal man. And he called for her to...write notes?

"Here sir," she muttered, slapping the medallion in his hand as rudely as he had slapped the paper in hers.

The fall's comedic or embarrassing factors were significantly lacking for a number of reasons. Between his weight, height, and complete lack of struggle, Zach landed on his rear without much of a show or sound of care. His grey hair in his eyes as his smile remained, looking into Rufio's eyes as he had before, hardly caring about the taunting or threats. For his body type, Rufio did manage to strike real fear in most patients to Zach's knowledge. But, Rufio's vocal taunting and pathetic shows of strength only made Zach smile on the inside. He wanted to goad Rufio more, even dare him to snuff ZM1234 out for good. But, he felt a piercing gaze jn his peripheral vision. It was the Siren, trying to signal him to cool down. To this, without even looking at her face, Zach's smile dropped.

The dropped smile had occurred before Rufio turned to look at Nysali, and before he addressed her. This was all in an attempt to hide his concerns from the two of them. Nysali would know her message got across to Zach as he dropped his engaged act. But, all Rufio would see is Zach's frown, without Zach looking at Nysali, there wasn't any reason to belief that Zach was just broken in. If he could respond to Nysali, he would have made his readiness to die known, and probably would have called her 'block A princess' one way or another. But, his lips were shut, his smile gone, and his eyes rest in his lap.

Whatever silent communication had been ongoing between Nysali and Zach were unknown to Rufio in that moment, swept up with the pleasure of being in complete, dominating control. Of them both. The little signs and gestures that could have given it away were missed by the cunning, cruel doctor, who fixated his gaze upon the medallion handed to him. The Science Department gave him this? He was almost loathe to give the patient a piece of jewelry, even if it did have the recorded effects that the Science eggheads espoused. This object was too good for their wretched, pitiful bodies.

He turned to glance back at Nysali. Did she even grab the right package? He was going to take a paddle to her behind if she had.

“The rabble rouser is quiet today.” Rufio said, keeping his gaze upon the strange medallion, a plain bronze brooch hanging upon a simple steel chain. It’s weight was light and yet heavy, emanating some strange energy from within. Electrical perhaps? Rufio had not the abilities to detect magical properties. “No insults, no threats of retaliation?” He asked again, glancing at Zach finally with the same haughty smirk fixated on his lips. “Perhaps the little boy realizes the gravity of his mistakes and wants to apologize?” Of course even if he did apologize, it wouldn’t stop Rufio. After staring at the pathetic patient for a few seconds longer, weighing the medallion in his palm, he turned and went back to Nysali.

Reaching down, he grabbed her under the shoulder and promptly yanked her out of her chair. “Leave the notes. Take this.” He ordered, slapping the medallion in her hands. “I don’t feel like bending over. Get him to his feet. Then go and put it on him. And if he resists…use that pretty voice of yours to encourage him. Come on.” Rufio explained in a cheerful voice, even going as far as to slap Nysali’s rear to nudge her forward towards Zach. He went and leaned against the cell walls, where he would be able to see the interaction between them quite clearly.

Nysa shuffled over to Zach, reaching down and grabbing his arm to help him up. She new the traight jacket made it hard, and getting to his feet could be no easy task.

"Just go with what he says Silver," she mutters, pulling him up, "Please don't give him reason to use my voice."

Honestly, Nysali would much rather not have the boy in the jacket hate her for the rest of their long - or perhaps short- lives, because she was forced to control him. While she didn't mind fucking with the staff for a good kick, controlling some of the mortal patients felt wrong. Like Silver, for instance.

Once he was on his feet she moved behind him and placed the medallion over his head then stepped back into Dr. Arellano's clear line of view.

"Good sir?" she asked, leaving any emotion out of her voice.

At Rufio's taunting, there was no sound or action from Zach. The look on his face had a mix of defeat and confusion, but it was clear that they weren't all he was biting back as his eyes drift to the side. He could feel the venom rising in his throat. Like he was going to vomit the caustic, sarcastic, tasteless remarks that he held back with all his might. It has become more and more and difficult to register what was going on and keep an eye on the other two in the room. His eyes took to the right, to the door that had let him in.

As Zach glared at the door, he nearly choked. This was in response to the pat on the ass Rufio used to put Nysali in Zach's direction. And yet, even still, Zach kept the imaginary noose pulled tight to keep his tongue at bay.

But then, Nysali touched his arm. At this contact, he looked into her eyes, turning his head to do so. At first, he looked empty. This would soon be replaced with a small smile as he let his false confidence flood over his face. Helping Zach up was easy, he complied without pause.

"What's there to be afraid of?" He gave a little chuckle before his eyes stuck right to the medallion. An ominous pulsing emanated from its metal. She hadn't even moved to place it on him as he was tranced by a horrid chorus of metal echos that whispered to his ears. His face began to show signs of doubt as well."It's just some stupid coin." He mumbled with a gulp. "What in the actual fuck is that thing?" He thought to himself as she slowly put it over him and stepped away.

He didn't give any immediate sign that something was happening. Zach stood with the medallion against the chest of his straight jacket. To them, he must have appeared frozen in place. What they couldn't hear was the screaming of metal being scratched over and over that had began to become a chorus in his ears. Pain consumed him immediately. The sharp, stabbing sensation of a million headaches had made Zach's eyes go white with a stream of tears trailing down his plain face. He opened his mouth to scream, but a horrid choking sound was all he could summon as the failed to breath up to this point. By now, the medallion began to glow a bright white light, branding his jacket with cinders as Zach fell backwards and fought just to breath. His body tossed back and forth as his body's instinctual reaction was to get the Medallion off. Sadly, as he couldn't afford the time to plan his tossing, the medallion bounced off the coal-black spot on his chest to lick at his cheek. At the point of contact, a line of black molten skin had remained. He continued his violent thrashing, so quick in his movements across the floor, until the medallion finally flew up over his head and landed upon the floor, hot like lava as it maintained with its white glow. Zach had laid with his back to the other two. His hair had been a mess across the top of his head, the tears continued to run, his eyes tightly shut. All he did was suck up the air. There was no time for his body to react to the throbbing ln his cheek, eyes, chest and ears. Just breathing.

Rufio intently watched as the siren proceeded to carry out her instructions, walking over to Zach. The siren was a useful tool in terms of manipulation. Doctors, guards, and patients alike desired her, though the latter had almost no chance with even getting near her. But Rufio falsely offered that opportunity, if it might garner him something. The pitiful fool before him had yet to break. Ideals and convictions could be a wonderful thing to adhere to, but even they had their shortcomings. What use was this sense of morality when confronted with such sensual beauty and ravishing looks? Zach might evade the mental damage his punishments could inflict for a time, but there were other ways to make cracks in his walls.

Yet Nysali was no cake walk either. The usual sultry siren seemed hesitant and aloof in this moment, her usual eagerness to please or banter absent. He didn’t catch the short mutterings between them, but he trusted Nysali to have carried out her instructions faithfully. The consequence of doing otherwise, and being caught in the act, could be horrendous.

“Very good.” He replied to Nysali, walking around towards her and standing at her shoulder. “Now we wait…” He said and though his eyes were on Zach, he placed his hands on her shoulders, firmly, and watched.

And there it was. It was a slow revelation, but the effect revealed itself. A widening of the eyes, his voice choking in his throat, the presence of tears. As each symptom grew worse and worse, Rufio’s smirk only grew wider. “It hurts, I suppose. Well that’s a shame.” He merely remarked in a casual tone, as Zach fell to the ground, convulsing. The medallion was thrown free of his body and the stench of seared flesh began to pervade the room. Rufio wrinkled his nose in disgust. Could he not have suffered in a more dignified and less barbaric fashion?

Charred flesh, agonizing pain, it was all evident in Zach’s form. Who knew what permanent damage might have been done to him. Unfortunately, the official report, his physical, will read a healthy, skinny individual with little injury. “I guess the Science geeks will be happy to know their toy works.” He remarked to Nysa, staring at Zach. He then gave the siren a rude shove forward. “Pick it up.” He bluntly ordered her after, knowing full well the device could still be searing hot to the touch. But did he care for the siren? Not at all. She was just a tool, to do the menial work. "Don't drop it now. It's worth as much as you two combined and my yearly salary, though that takes up most of the cup." He sneered, inferring they were both worth the clothes they lived in.

“We’ll give it a rest for a moment, then we’ll try again.” Rufio said cheerfully to Nysa, before stepping a few paces closer to Zach. “Well are you going to promise to be a good little project now or are you going to continue this nonsense of being a…heh, hero?” He demanded. Now that it was evident the boy had magical properties about him, it was time to bring it out, willing or no.

Nysa hated having no voice. But anything she wanted to say would only get a resounding hit from Dr. Arellano, and she wasn't the only one in the room he could hurt. So she bit her tongue, literally biting on it to keep certain words from escaping, and did as she was told. She didn't even like that, being bossed by this man, but the alternative was horrid.

About as horrid as the medallion as it started to take effect. Nysali wanted to step away, or take it off of Silver but Dr. Arellano's hand was crushing her shoulder, keeping her from moving. All she could do was shut her eyes, and Nysa refused to give in to that cowardice. When it was done she was shoved towards it, and a look of rage crossed her face. She stomped to it, catching Zach's eye before grabbing the medallion as it seared into her hand and turning to Dr. Arellano.

"Here...catch!" she laughed, her voice oozing contempt and sarcasm as she feigned a throw at him. But she never let go, the medallion burning into her beautiful flesh of her palm. Still she wasn't about to let Dr. Arellano get his kicks out of her pain. She let the medallion slip out of her hands and almost hit the ground before she caught the loop of the necklace portion, holding it in her tortured hand, defiantly glaring down the mad doctor as her blood began dripping do it and to the floor, "Made you flinch."

She beamed at him, showing her perfect white teeth as she hid the pain. Nysali had been inside the facility long enough to grow a tough skin, to learn how to hide even the worst pains from her tormentors. There was nothing else she could do with it though than hold it and wait. Of course, she could use her voice to control the always annoying doctor, but if word got out that she had, Nysa's life would be over in seconds. That was a rule she wasn't yet willing to break.

Instead she stepped up beside Dr. Arellano and offered her unharmed hand to Zach, dragging him to his feet past the doctor, ignoring him completely. It was a brave action, and possibly a stupid one but Nysa was done with playing his bitch. She wasn't quite sure why she was even helping the silver haired boy...as she had never really stuck her neck out for anyone in the joint aside from a couple patients in Block A. Maybe it was the similar sarcasm she had found in him, someone who also enjoyed a well planned pun against the staff here. Or maybe she just felt bad, but Nysali rarely felt anything for people these days. The facility had stripped her of that pretty damn well.

"C'mon Silver, where's the spunk I saw earlier?" she got him to his feet, dusting off his jacket with one hand as her stomach knotted for the near future beatings and torture she'd get for all this, "Don't let the good ol doctor see you cry. He only does it to collect those tears. I think it makes his coffees taste sweeter, doesn't it Dr. Arellano? Okay then kid, ready for round two?"

The smell of sweet, almost nectar scented blood was beginning to fill the room, her blood coating her palm and dripping to the floor. She really didn't want to put the damned thing back on the boy, but Dr. Arellano would only put it on her instead if she didn't comply. But I have a few tricks too...

"For good luck," she chirped, winking at him before leaning forward and pressing her soft pink lips to his, only for the briefest moment. For her it was a simple peck, but for him it would be so...so much more. And in that kiss she had locked onto him, her powers wrapping around him and latching to his heart and mind, holding tightly till she felt like letting go. All the doctors assumed it was only her voice that could enact this bond and force control over another. But Nysa still had her ways, secret to them all.

"I'm sure round two won't hurt as much, will it?" she asked innocently, her voice still void of power but that meant nothing. She already had control over Zach's mind, and she was issuing it an order out loud to feel less pain while Dr. Arellano remained unaware, "Shall I put it back on sir?"

There was nothing but pain for Zach. A searing hot sea of molten metal around his brain. He wished his ears would bleed, just so that there was some warmth to sooth them from that endless ringing that had plagued him. Breathe in. Breathe out. These were not mental instructions, it was all his body was allowed to do.

But then, he felt the touch to his arm. A touch he could trust. With that cloud of everyday non-stop thought, it became difficult for one to discern someone's motive from their touch. It was incredibly human, to get so worked up and bogged down with everything there was to stress out about. But, with his brain's return to basics, that dark cloud of restless fears evaporating, Zach could feel it. For the first time, maybe the only time, it wasn't just a hand on his arm. There was a delicacy to the touch. Something feminine, but genuine. For just an instant, Zach remembered the place he called home.

His eyes opened, bloodshot and with his grey iris looking right to Nysali. She had been the one to touch his arm. Down his molten cheek ran a thin line of blood. One that he would have tried to lick at if he hadn't been trying to recollect his surroundings.

The room was familiar, and just with a slight wiggle of his nose, he determined Rufio was in the room. And then it all came back to him. Slowly, as Nysali helped him up, he remembered each event that lead to him having the Medallion slapped on him. The dark clouds returned in his frontal lobe as he finally began to actually think again. His once grey from the medallion, iris had returned to the plain brown all while Zach looked directly at Rufio's eyes. A bizarre effect, likely to have a cinematic quality to it, like a good screen effect in a horror movie.

Before he could decide if he should be happy to be alive, or terrorized by the fact that medallion practically deleted who he was in that moment of pure, unavoidable agony, Nysali's set of comfortable, experienced, perfect lips had taken his own. Shocked by the sudden bliss, Zach couldn't shut his eyes. They opened wide as his heartbeat elevated and a foreign sensation seized him like a drug. When she pulled back and started talking about pain, he was confused. The tall male's eyebrows furrowed in thought as she tossed the second line at him. "I would really rather we didn-" He was going to begin before the medallion returned around his neck.

The ringing returned and his eyes went white. With his control over his body now completely stolen by the medallion, he stumbled back oafishly. His back colliding with a wall as he slid down to his ass. Smoke arose from the jacket as the medal started a fire, a small one, on his chest. He didn't breathe, he couldn't think. From the corners of his eyes, white began to flow. Like as if his white eyes were molten metal spilling over. Without intervention, Zach would burn to death.

There was no answer from Zach on his latest mockery. Rufio merely stared at the singed, brutalized remnant of the boy, one side of his lip curled up in a sneer of disdain. Hopefully this proved to be a lifelong lesson for the boy. Quit struggling, quit fighting back, and quit trying to assert yourself. Let the Institution run its experiments and tests, maybe enjoy a bit of fun on the side, and everything would be fine. At least Zach wasn’t a female like others, who could be enjoyed in other ways. Not like Kaige Mayfair, who tried to employ it for her own schemes. Not like Teya, the gorgon, who wanted to turn you into a garden gnome. Not like Nysali, who seemed to live for it.

Speaking of which, that seemed to give him an interesting idea. But first…

Nysa collected the medallion and made a joke of tossing it to him. Rufio did not budge, his arms crossed as his cold eyes fluttered over to the siren, lacking any amusement at her jest of a throw. Made him flinch? Who the hell does she think she is? He thought to himself outraged, watching as she defiantly returned his stare, all the while holding the searing hot medallion which burned her hand. Blood spotted the floor. Yet Nysa merely smiled at him. A challenge? An insult? Rufio promised to punish her for this, as he had many times before for her games. Yet no matter how much he did, she just didn’t seem to learn. Maybe she needed a medallion of her own. Or a rack.

He said or did nothing as Nysa carried out her instructions, though he began to brim with some impatience. She dragged Zach right past him, causing him to finally move and turn to face them. Still he did not do anything for this misstep from his orders. He merely watched, observing, as Nysa pulled him to his feet to prep him for the next round. He heard her speak, first goading Zach to recover, then insulting Rufio. A brave move, though foolish and stupid. Another tick next to her name to be punished, which is all it garnered her in the end. “I’m watching my sodium…cut the crap and get it over with.” Rufio finally snapped.

Then she kissed him and finally there seemed to be a burst of life in Zach. Interesting. Very interesting. Rufio’s smirk got wider, almost gleeful. “I would rather we did. Hurry up.” Rufio suddenly interrupted, just as the medallion was stuck around Zach’s neck a second time. And then it began, a second time. Zach fell back and then to the ground, his body jerking and his eyes…bleeding. “Make a note of that.” He said to Nysa. “Patient bleeds a white liquid from his eyes. That’s something new.” Rufio merely remarked, even as Zach began to burn and sear himself to death.

The last thing Rufio needed on his record though was another patient dying without garnering him any quantifiable results. He sighed and rolled his eyes, throwing up his hands in mock defeat as he came over to Nysa, barely two minutes after she had put the medallion on him. Placing his hand on the small of her back, he shoved her forward again. “Take it off. Quickly, before he expires.” He hissed at her. And once the medallion was removed, he came forward again, putting a hand on Nysa’s shoulder and shoving her aside as he knelt before Zach.

He reached forward and slapped the man’s cheek. Twice. The first time, it didn’t affect him. But the second time, the insides of his palm suddenly jolted with searing pain from the molten tears. He made a hissing sound as he examined his burnt hand for a moment, seeing the red patch of boiled flesh, then resumed his smirk and stared at Zach. “Wake up now. You don’t have my permission to pass into hell just yet.” He mocked, sticking out a finger and using it prod the burnt spot on the boy’s chest. He continued to prod and strike Zach in this fashion, until the boy offered up some sort of life. Then he stood up.

“Well that was a success. The patient clearly has more to him than a set of pretty hair and spunk. Silver huh? Maybe we ought to shave it off.” He suggested, flashing a grin towards Nysa. “I’m sure you would enjoy that. Care to give him a kiss before we go?” Rufio suddenly suggested to the siren.

“No hell… You’ll only know peacce.” The blonde groaned, her image shimmering within the dull light. She began to pace around the man, the only other sound in the room being her feet intentionally dragging across the floor as she slowly closed in on the guard. She traced the cracks in the floor, watching them curiously in the mean while. She wasn’t stupid… The new goggles where these asshole’s idea of trying to get to her in an attempt to poke and prod at her more.

“Everyone hasss more then jussst one weaknesssss. You’re not above them all. You’re nothing sspecial.” Her luxurious voice purred. “You ssstate you’re nothing of the kind… Yet you wear their contraption… You command another… I am assss free assss the nexxt venom in a cage…”

Teya’s pace was steady, quiet, and deadly.

“You asssk ssstupid quesstionsss… The darkness… Is for your protection.” Teya stated, her voice just as confident… Even if she knew the reality was she was more sensitive to the light then anything. Only few really knew this here. It wasn’t something they knew indefinitely. The gorgon continued to circle the man, ignoring his story about himself. She neither cared, nor had any real interest. Just alike no one really cared that she had been ripped from the arms of a similar creature… One her deadly effects had yet to effect.

Teya took in a hiss like stream of air, her head rolling as her predatory body continued to slither. A talon reaching out and toying with the back of the goggles - the material was thin… Easy enough to shred if she really wanted to.

She tugged at it slightly before picking up her pace, dropping her hand with a sweet chuckle that drew in the darkness from the corners of the room.

Nysa hated seeing him hurt, but moreso she was annoyed the he wasn't listening to her words. She had told him not to feel the pain, hadn't she? Nysa had wanted to shove it Dr. Arellano badly, to have Zach laugh through the torture, but instead he was eating out of the doctors hands. And all she could do was watch and obey Dr. Arellano's orders. It made her sick, and she almost sighed audbily when the wretched thing was finally allowed to come off, stuffing it into the box once more while waiting patiently.

"There'd be no point to the nickname if you shave the head," she rolled her eyes, clearly done with his vain attempt at humor, "And why kiss him now Dr. Arellano? The first one was for good luck, what's the second for? Not dying?"

Rufio snarled and turned quickly to Nysa at her questioning of his last order. Did she think he was really joking? “Perhaps I should put the medallion on you and see if it has the same effects. Would you like that?” He snapped at her as he approached, reaching around to grabbing her hair tightly, yanking her harshly towards him. This was serious work. He felt there was some…trait or reactive in the siren’s kiss. And he wanted to see.

“Go and do as I say.” He snarled angrily in her ear, before heaving her by her hair forward towards Zach’s body. It was at least worth a try. Last time had nearly jolted the boy back into consciousness from the first run. “The easy way or the hard way, patient ND6667. You were such good sport before,” Rufio said, mocking her sensual personality and good pet behavior in Cell Block A, “why stop now? Go on.” He cheered insultingly, taking pleasure in her discomfort.

Nysa was backing away hastily as Dr. Arellano stood, knowing better. The bruise on her face was enough evidence that he didn't mind hurting the beautiful siren. He still caught her though -this time by her hair- and as she let out a painful squeak he tossed her forward into Zach. She stumbled and fell, landing on her knees in from of the semi conscious boy.

"I don't know what kicks you get from this doc, but I gotta say the sleeping ones are the worse kissers," she replied sarcastically, her eyes glaring daggers at the wall. There was no good reason for Rufio to order this, unless he had seen something she hadn't.

"So like...another peck? Something more...?" his silence told her to just get it over with and quit stalling. Sighing dramatically she pulled Zach's head up so that it leaned against the walls, inches from her.

"Sorry Silver," she muttered, "Doctor orders."

Closing her eyes she leaned forward, pressing her lips to his once more. This time though she didn't pull back immediately, instead letting the kiss linger, a sliver of her curious too as to how he'd react.
