Unless you're approaching this from a racial angle, in which case we're not all genetically blessed with melanin, no. More's the pity.

MM, do I sense some sort of hostility? :(

And Hero, you're right. *holds up vodka bottle* Smooooth.

Hostility? No, not really. Point A is a joke, really; making fun of self and others for the whole "being on a computer" thing. You know the deal.

Point B isn't hostile unless Anansi intended his to be. His skin tone is demonstrably of a deeper shade than mine, which means not a thing unless he's making it mean something, in which case, I'm just "yeah, we got lots of white folks 'round here." Which I do think is something of a pity, 'cause we ought to have a more generalized diversity, I think. I actually do think variety is an awesome thing to have around, and on the picture threads, I can appreciate all the joy of differences nature has given us. I enjoy people who are exotic to me, i.e. different from me. That's the "More's the pity."

If there's any hostility, it might be toward the historical tendency of Anansi to make statements that could themselves be interpreted in multiple ways, either snidely cutting or purely innocent (if queerly worded, in that case), and if you call him on the possible insult, he tends to profess innocence. It happens often enough it's deeply improbable to be accidental. But that was why I responded as I did: joke if it was innocent, smidge of retort if not. It's my mistake that my smidge of retort could be misinterpreted itself: apologies.

And I'm a rum guy, myself. But vodka's nice.

Oh my @_@ Alright... I hadn't meant to provoke a big ol' response, a simple answer would have sufficed... It's quite alright though, I was simply being curious... (Guess I should keep to myself..) *gives MM a lovely pink cupcake and a new bottle of rum*

I'm not a rum fan, myself, but to each his own.

Gonna laze around all day and play WoW. <3

E and Blue Moon are mostly white because they are both predominantly English-speaking sites, which is predominantly white this side of India. Women of color are actually overrepresented (not that there is anything wrong with that) and men of color are underrepresented. Since both sites have a slight male lean, that may also make it stand out more.

I haven't actually run statistics on that in awhile, but it still seems to be the case.
