Of Knights and Deadmen (1x1 DarkMudkip/Jikkah)

Senji rode well into the night, only stopping when he was tired. He tied the horse and set Shion against a tree gently before moving and laying down himself.

When morning came, a thick mist was blanketed over the forest floor, leaving Senji cold, wet, and stiff. Though most of him was cold, part of his upper body was warm, and an odd sensation was upon his shoulder. Shion lay partially across Senji, sucking gently on his shoulder, occasionally biting to try and recieve more blood from the small wound he had gotten during training the day before hand.

When he finally registered what was happening through his sleep coated daze, he practically threw Shion off him, blushing madly.

Shion grunted when he shoved her off, landing on her back beside Senji and letting out a soft whimper, but she didn't try to latch onto him again.

Shion licked the small amount of blood off her lip before she rolled over and fell back asleep, not uttering a word.

Shion seemed to doze most of the day, only stirring around dusk. She sat up and let out a soft grunt, rubbing her eyes and looking around.

Senji was cooking some food over the fire when she woke. He didn't really pay her any mind, deciding to wait when she woukd be coherent enough to talk to him.

She stared blankly around, her cloudy eyes slowly moving around to gather her surroundings before she quickly staggered to her feet and made a few jerky steps before she begain to vomit. Her vomit was a deep red, infact, it was all blood, but not her own. She staggered and fell against a tree, only to vomit again, having nothing but blood in her stomach.

Shion seemed to nearly puke her guts up before she collapsed to her knees, clutching the tree and breathing hard, but still, she didn't speak or even try to do so.

Shion would remained slumped against the tree for another hour before she groaned softly, turning her head slowly to look toward Senji, eyes still a bit cloudy, but this time she spoke. "Senji...?"

Shion narrowed her eyes, head still foggy. "What the hell are you talking about..?" She muttered, turning her head away from him and wiping the dried vomit from her mouth.

He made a noise, "Kinda figured you wouldn't remember anything. What's the last thing you recall? Obviously, we aren't in the palace anymore."

It took Shion a moment to answer, but it wasn't clear if it was because she was avoiding the question or if she just didn't remember. "I don't remember." She finally muttered.

"Well, you don't have to believe me, but Yui was using her Sin to keep you in a trance the couple months we were there. You became part of her personal guard and did nothing but follow her around like a pup." He told her.

Shion still didn't face Senji, she only chewed on her fingernail before replying. "Oh." Then standing slowly. "Do we have any water?" She asked quietly.

Shion moved slowly over to the canteen after looking for the water, slumping to the ground and drinking the entire canteen.

Shion took the food from Senji, muttering a thanks before sitting down against a tree and eating the meat. "Why am I here?"

"I took you away from Yui." He answered simply. "You were feasting off her blood like you needed it to live. It was horrible and you didn't deserve to live that way."
