Through the Veil (citizenanon x shani)

"Yes she is especially if she keeps everything in and explodes you never know what you'll be hit with. Looking back at him "What's that?" She asked curiously wondering what he needed help with. "Oh yeah you are dressed a little strange for a pure blood." She smiled then she still had no idea who he was so she was just going with things but he hadn't tried to hurt her which was all that mattered. "I can try...first off cleaning up your stubble..." She said seeing that he was a bit scruffy. "A dress suit would be best, black preferably or black dress robes." Narcissa suggested.

Sirius nodded as if he were trying to memorize everything. "Dress robes I can do. As well as the stubble." Sirius dragged his fingers through his hair. It hung down to his shoulders and looked rather tangled and messy. "And what should I do with this rat's nest?" He quizzed. It would do well to look the part when he visited Lucius and the Potters the next day and with Cissy's help, he would appear as he should. At the very least, it would help with Lucius.

The stew was starting to smell even better. Sirius moved to the cooking pot and dropped a few more spices into the mix before setting some bread in the oven to cook. He moved back to his seat. "After dinner, you should write your letters and I'll deliver them for you tomorrow, okay?"

Nodding her head with a smile as he listened it wasn't too speific seeing as each Witch or Wizard had there own sense of style. Looking at his hair, it could use a good bushing maybe a trim, having it styled would help. Up to you to leave i down or pin it up I personally like it down." She replied stirring the pot as he added more spices. Smelling the bread with it, it smelled heavenly. "Alright...I might have to write Bella's Merlin only knows what she would wined up writing..."

"Don't worry about her's. She has already written home and when she's ready, I'll take another one for her." Sirius said and made a mental note to actually take care of his hair that night. "Just focus on what you need to do to make sure that your family knows that you're okay and not being tortured or something."

Sirius pulled his wand and ran it over his fringe while casting a spell. The tangles undid themselves and it straightened itself out to hang just a bit longer than his shoulders. He did not trim it but conjured a tie and tied it back out of the way. Next, he ran his wand over the stubble on his face, banishing it and leaving just a neat looking goatee "How's that look?"

Nodding her head, "Alright then..." She replied it was better Bella right her own letter anyway when she was ready knowing how she could be. "No worries I'll make sure they know I'm fine." She said sitting with her drink across from him, letting the stew simmer. Looking at his transformation, "Very good, much better, no offense But you'll fit in better now."

Sirius smiled. "I ran away from my family many, many years ago and I left much of the pureblood culture behind me at the same time, so it's been a while since I've had to play the part." He felt like he could slip back into that old role again long enough to deal with Lucius. "I think food will be done soon. Why don't you go and try to drag Bellatrix down here. Just one shot to show that you want her down here." Sirius glanced back up the stairs at where Bella would appear if she chose to come down. "It might not work, but you have to try."

Narcissa blinked at him, "Oh...um I'm sorry." She replied not knowing why but it must have been rough for him. Looking at him like he was nuts raising her eyebrow. "...you are asking me to poke a tempermental dragon...." Narcissa replied she much would rather do that then disturb her sister. "Of course I want her down here but I highly doubt in her mood she will..." Sighing she remembered what happened last time, Bellatrix had zapped her for bothering her, granted she appologized not meaning it. Narcissa stood up pushing the chair in, heading up the stairs to see Bella swallowing gently. Knocking on the door, "Bella?" She asked opening the door, "Bella dinner's nearly ready please come eat with me?" She asked hoping her sister would join her.

Bella looked up hearing a knock not knowing who it was until she heard her sister speak. Relaxing slightly seeing as her and Sirius kept ending up in a duel she was tense. "...I'm not hungry..." She replied softly.

Narcissa looked at her sister smiling softly, "...But Trixie you have hardly eaten anything today please come eat." Cissy pleaded. Bellatrix looked at her sister, "Cissy I said I'm not hungry..." She replied louder. "...But...Bella..." She started Bellatrix cut her off, "..No Cissy leave me be!" She snapped holding her wand up. Narcissa blinked at her sister turning around shutting the door she went back down stairs granted Bella was calmer up still no use. Cissy rejoined Sirius at the table. Bellatrix felt bad being so angry at her sister seeing as Cissy didn't do anything. Laying back down looking out the window.

Sirius could hear quite a bit of what was going on between the sisters. He hated how Bellatrix was treating Narcissa. When Cissy appeared, he could see how poorly it went and frowned at it all. "Perhaps I will have some better luck than you did, Cissy. Why don't you go ahead and set up three bowls and bread while I go see to Trixie." Unlike Narcissa, Sirius was able to apparate directly to Bellatrix's room.

"What do you think you're doing, Bella?" Sirius asked. "Get downstairs with Narcissa. She needs her older sister right now." Sirius approached the bed and when Bella brandished her wand, he simply snatched it out of her hand and put it in his pocket. He reached down and grabbed her by her ear and twisted it as he pulled her up. "I have half a mind of spanking you like a child since that's how you're acting. I still might if you don't get out of this little mood you're in." Sirius had her painfully by the ear and began to lead her towards the door and stairs.

Narcissa nodded her head standing up, she began to plate three bowls of stew with bread. No knowing how he would manage to convince Bellatrix to come down.

Bellatrix sat up looking at him, wondering what he wanted now. Still holding her wand not wanting to figh but would if she needed to. "I am laying in bed, She will be fine without me for a while. Seeing as neither of us can go anywhere." She snapped. When he snatched her wand away she went to grab it "Give it back!" she snapped "OWW!" Bellatrix yelped as he grabbed her ear twisting it. Fighting as he dragged her by her ear towards the door. Digging her feet trying to stop "Don't you dare!" refereing to the spanking. "Let go of me!" She screamed getting Narcissa's attention looking up towards the stairs not knowing what was going on.

Sirius was having none of it as he continued towards the door. When she dug her heals and screamed at him to let her go, he bodily turned her around and smacked her hard on the bottom. Not once, but twice before directing her back towards the door. "Get downstairs." He pushed her through the door and forced her towards the stairs. Humiliating or not, he was going to force her down to dinner with them. At this point, he did not care if she hated him or not.

Bellatrix continued fighting with him as he dragged her along. Only to be quikly turned and spanked twice, she yelped with each smack. "Bloody Hell...You Bastard!" Bellatrix snapped how dare he touch her that way granted she wasn't to happy he had touched her sexually either. Stumbling as he pushed her through the door towards the stairs. She had no choice with him blocking her way back to tther room her hand tenderly rubbed her now sore behind. She wondered if it were things like this that drove her to try to kill him in the future. Nearly falling down the stairs she was red in the face and mascara was smuged seeing where two tears fell from her eyes. Bellatrix was so pissed off with him and she couldn't do anything with him having her wand.

Narcissa heard them fighting not fully knowing what was going watching to see, but not going up to find out. Then seeing Bellatrix begin to emerge she looked much angrier then she had seen her sister in a long time, as well of a look of pain on her face. Narcissa was very concerned about her sister at this point maybe this man wasn't what she thought.

Sirius marched her towards the seat across from him, but tapped the chair for a cushioning charm before forcing her to sit down on the magically cushioned chair. "I will charm you to the seat if you try to get up." Sirius threatened before leaving her there and walking around to sit at his seat. He sat down and looked at the two sisters. Narcissa looked concerned, confused, and perhaps a little upset, but Bellatrix looked ready to murder.

With the table full, Sirius made sure that everyone had their bowls of stew and fresh bred. He even provided bottles of butterbeer for the two sisters. He eyed Bellatrix carefully, wondering if she would try to get up and test his threat to stick her to the seat or not. "Trixie, Narcissa did a wonderful job helping to prepare the stew and the bread." Sirius smiled at the two of them and looked like the pureblood that he was trying to be with the trimmed beard and well kept hair.

Bellatrix moved with him to the seat, wincing slightly as she was forced to sit, even with the cushioning charm. Bellatrix hissed at his threat, thinking about getting up but not wanting to fight infront of Cissy unless fully antagonized, more so than she already was. Narcissa watched the two not saying a word not sure what happened nor did she really want to ask afraid to involk her sister and further.

"Oh...How nice.." She glared managing the words through gritted teeth. Taking a deep breath she looked at her sister, "It smell very good Cissy..." She said trying to sound kind and geniune with her anger through the roof, trying not to take it out on her sister. Narcissa had her head down, "...Thanks Bella..." she said feeling that looking at Bella in such a state Bella would lash out on her. Bellatrix took note of his change but couldn't currently formulate words at least none of which were a compliement.

Sirius could feel the tension in the air, but smiled at how Bella was now treating Narcissa somewhat nicely. She was at least making an effort with the sister. Sirius took a couple bites of his soup and ate a piece of buttered toast while he allowed Bella to stew in her anger for a moment. "Trixie, are you familiar with occlumency?" He asked. He knew older Bellatrix was. She had been taught by Tom, but he did not think that younger Bellatrix had learned it yet. "If not, it might be something to look into. I've started Narcissa on the work for it."

It would be good for the two of them to learn it together. Could be a bonding exercise.

Bellatrix was angry whatever hunger she had before was gone now only feeling anger and hate. Bella was normally nice to her sister but her whold word had been ripped to shreads. Narcissa began to eat her meal, picking at her bread and stew. "Yes...occlumency as well as legilimency..." She replied she knew of them and she had begun to learn them both, but her training was cut short by being kidnapped. Having been in the middle of her training, granted at this age she had the respect not to use it. Bella's hand was shaking as she reached for her butter beer, taking a sip.

Sirius kept an eye on Bellatrix and noticed her shaking hand. The girl was itching to do violence, but seemed to be holding it in rather well. He debated whether or not he should speak further as he knew that it might egg her on to do actual violence. "I have a feeling that Narcissa will do very well at the skill with a bit of practice." He watched Bellatrix. "Since you seem to have some experience with it and I know that you have the talent for the discipline, it might be a good idea for you to do a bit of meditation with her tomorrow to help her set the basics up. After all, she trusts you more than me and you'll be able to help her with it easier."

Perhaps if he were able to direct her anger into something good, it might help. That or it could end up targeting Narcissa. He was not sure which.

Bellatrix was trying to mellow herself out, but it was a struggle usually taking her anger out on people or things never holding it in. Granted if she was upest she could hold it in forever unless she snapped but anger it usually consumed her. Thinking about trying the stew for Narcissa's sake but she was having a hard enough time swallowing. Usually when alone she was able to calm herself not with others though, unable to concentrate. "...I'm sure... she will" She replied again through gritted teeth. Glaring at him as he continued as he kept insisting things Bellatrix couldn't teach her she had planned to once she had learned everything from Tom, wanting to protect her sister.

Sirius could take a hint and simply let her simmer in her anger while they finished the dinner. She did not eat much, but had taken a couple bites. Perhaps that would be enough to hold her over until the next day's meal. When he had finished and Narcissa seemed to have eaten her fill, he smiled at the younger sister. "Why don't you go ahead and write your letters, Narcissa? I'll clean up down here and Bella can get what she has to say out of her system." Sirius was not worried about Bellatrix hurting him. After all, he did have her wand and he was physically stronger than her. He just did not want Narcissa to be on the receiving end of it. He would wait until Narcissa left before casting silencing spells on the room so that the screaming fit that he was certain Bellatrix would have would not disturb the younger sister.

Bellatrix had picked at her meal a bit once calm enough to do so. Still very upset and angry her stomach felt like it was twisting. Feeling sick from her stress trying to force food down. Narcissa finishing her bowl of stew and bread. Nodding she went up to the bedroom that was Bella's but Cissy slept there the night before, going to write her letters to home and Lucius. Bellatrix glared as he mentioned her getting things off of her chest. Granted if she did she would be playing into him. Wanting to scream and shout, and fight, break things. Finishing her butter beer and making sure Narcissa was gone, she threw the bottle aim for his head but just missed hitting the cabinet.

Sirius turned his head and watched as the suds from the bottle flowed to the ground with shattered glass falling with it. That might have been enough to knock him out had it hit him. He turned back to her just in case she decided to throw a spoon or bowl at him. Sirius watched her closely.

"I had expected a raging scream. Perhaps some accidental magic or yelling." He shrugged. "For some reason I was not expecting the bottle." Sirius sighed, "Why don't you tell me how you really feel about things right now, Trixie." He prodded.

Holding her head high obviously she was the only one in the room other than him. Taking full blame for it she knew he could get hurt and at the moment with her anger she didn't care. She would however feel bad about it later. Blinking at him as he turned and began talking to her, "I'm glad I can keep you on your toes...and why would you care how I feel? What would it matter? It should be easy to see how I feel..." She stated still sitting there, then again when she tried to talk to him very early it ended up in a fight making things worse. "You hit me...yes I was a bit snipper with my sister...but not as bad as I have been...I was rather calm and docile until you took my wand and dragged me kicking and screaming out of the room, then hit me...Obviously I am not happy..." She as calmly as could while angry snapped.

"No, you're not happy with what I did, but I'm sure that it runs deeper than your hatred for me right now, Bellatrix." Sirius said. He summoned another bottle of butterbeer and slid it across the table towards her. "You hate me right now, yes. I've hurt you. Humiliated you. Treated you like a child." Sirius watched her carefully. "I've treated you exactly how you have been acting the last couple hours."

He did not think that pointing out the fact that she was acting like a child would do any good except for making her angrier with him. "You were treating your sister poorly. I sent her to fetch you to make sure that you got something to eat and to make sure you were okay and you bit her head off." Sirius sipped his drink. "That's not how to treat your family. No matter how pissed off you are."

Shaking her head "No, right know I'm and angry at you nothing else..." She snapped looking at the butterbeer he slide towards her. Listening as he confessed what he had done to her which was all true. "Yes and why have I been acting this way? I have had everything I have known ripped to shreds riipped from me. All I asked was to be left alone...my way of coping with things...to stay away from others. As not to accidentlly cause harm..." She snapped in a way explaining while still blaming him.

"Yes and hardly so...I wasn't hungry I didn't want to eat, I didn't want to be bothered and come to think of it I was rather polite compair to other times...So I hardly said or did anything to her, she's just sensititive..." Bellatrix tried to explain drinking her butterbeer.

"She's as sensitive as any other person in her situation." Sirius shot back. "She's normal." He frowned. "I think what's really eating at you is that you've never had anyone actually care about you. Not in the way that you're being subjected to right now. When was the last time you had someone actually force you to eat because you had been skipping meals or was so concerned that they actually came to check on you even when they knew that you were going to be angry with them?"

Sirius set his mug down. "You, Bellatrix, need to get your head out of your arse and realize that people care for you in the same way that you care about them and are willing to actually help you if you would just give them the chance to do so. You do not have to do everything alone anymore. This is no longer a one woman crusade to save the family. You have back up and help. Come tomorrow, you'll have even more, but before that will be even remotely useful, you have to accept that you're getting help."

"She's been taking things rather well for someone in her position..." She replied not noticing how bad Narcissa was affected because bella was constantly sent over the edge and shut down. Hearing him call her sister normal[i\] not understanding what he meant by it. Staring at him, "I have been well cared for my entire life..." She stated thinking about what he was saying sure the house elves brought her food, even Narcissa tried, but she had been skipping meals because she was busy plus needing to fit into her wedding dress, this time she was just upset. "Cissy..." She replied softly looking at the table. Maybe Bellatrix did care more for others and was to blind to realize no one besides her sister really cared for her in return.

Snapping out of it, "I don't need help...I'm fine... I especially don't need help when it is forced upon me." She snapped back. "I don't need it and obviously I can't do anything anyway, seeing as my first plan get's messed up and I can't do anything at this point either. I won't accept it, I'm fine...I'm fine..." She stated she didn't need help Bellatrix didn't need anybody.
