Where's My Happy Ending? ((butterfly0408/Kolath))

She was still a few moments before... she started to move to get out of the bed once again. Like it was a natural thing to do. Trying to get back to the floor once again. Not looking to Aiden, not saying anything to him. She still didn't even know he was there.

This time Aiden wasnâ??t as asleep as he had been. The instant that she started to get out of bed he was out there with her. he stopped her from laying at the foot of the bed. His hand went to her cheek forcing her gently to look into his eyes. â??What are you doing Crista?â?

Crista cringed when she realized she had disturbed him that time. She flinched a moment as his hand touched her face, waiting for the harsh slap she so often got from him but, it didn't come. A gentle voice did instead. Did she dare open her eyes? What if it wasn't real? He had pretended to use Aiden's voice before. Yes, that had to be it. She just kept her eyes closed, tight, "Master Heylel... I know my place. I am only taking it."

Aidenâ??s heart stung as she mistook him for Heylel it was almost like saying the two of them were the same. He took a moment this time to let his mind calm from the anger of just hearing Heylelâ??s name. leaning forward he kissed first her forehead then he lips softly. â??Crista, you are home back with me your love Aiden. Are my touches so like his that you mistake me for him? is my voice so close to his that you can not tell the difference?â?

It was the touch of his lips that final snapped Crista from her trance like state. The moment the touched, her eyes opened and she got a good look at his face. While they looked similar, Heylel bore a large scar upon his face. Aiden did not. And she gazed now upon a face with no vile scar staring back at her. She looked at him in shock, utter... total... shock. Her heart soared for a moment, but only a moment as she recalled the engagement announcement and how Heylel had detailed Aiden's wedding to her to torment her. Her heart quickly sank once more, "What am I doing here? Where is... where is my master?"

Aiden looked at her in as much shook as she seemed to be. It just didnâ??t make sense to him about how she was acting did she really want to be with that pig of a man? He cupped her face lightly and leaned in kissing her lips lightly. â??I rescued you Crista, Heylel is in the dungeon as we speak waiting for my judgment. You never have to call anyone master ever again.â? His hand brushed her cheek lightly as he smiled and kissed her again, â??And once you are feeling better you and I will be married and begin our lives together.â?

Crista could not help but get a little lost in the kiss. That kiss she had missed so much. That she never thought she'd taste again. He had her for quite some time before he mentioned... marriage. And then he lost her. She pulled her head back. So he meant to have two wives did he? Or was he just leading her on? Toying with her heart and her affections. Just like his brother.

She shook her head, "I doubt your current wife would enjoy sharing you. I know Aiden. Master showed me the announcement. Told me all about your wife and your wedding. I don't think he left a single detail out..." she lowered her face, trying to hide her hurt.

Aiden was once again shocked he had no idea what she was talking about obviously, but there was more than just that. Heylel must really have gotten into her head for her to believe that he would pursue her as a second wife. â??Cristaâ?¦How could you think that I am already married? I would never betray you like that. I took the vows I make very seriously Crista if I was married I would not be asking you to be my wife no matter how much I would wish it.â? he gently held her close so she couldnâ??t pull away. â??I love only you and would never marry another I told you I would leave my position before marrying another didnâ??t I?â?

Crista was stiff in his arms, throwing so many thing around in her head. It wasn't true? But what if he was lying? What is Heylel had been lying? But then what if he HADN'T been lying and Aiden was lying now? Or what if Aiden was telling the truth? Crista couldn't think straight and it started building up and building up inside her head. What if Aiden really did want her? Could she really be with him? Or would she have to go back to Heylel? Could she marry Aiden after all she had been through? When she told Aiden, would he think differently of her? What about when she told him.... her face went pale and tears welled up in her eyes. Even if she could, even if he would have her still.... she could never marry Aiden. She didn't speak her revelation out loud, for she didn't know how to tell him, but all she knew was, it could never ever be. For Aiden's own good and for the good of his kingdom, he could never marry her when she doubted she could have children.

Crista stood there, her crying rapidly increasing until she was just sobbing out of control. To be so close to him again and know she couldn't have him, to had it ripped away.... it was heartbreaking all over once more for her.

Aiden held her gently against his chest his hand stroking her hair. He didnâ??t understand what was going through he mind he thought that he had broken through to her and the tears were ones of relief. He gently rocked her in his arms till he felt her body being wracked by sobs. He knew that something wasnâ??t right. He held her closer kissing her hair softly. â??Crista what is the matter? Your safe now I will never let you go ever, nothing can separate us now.â?

Crista only continued to sob, feeling like it was draining her whole being to cry so much. She was fading fast and she couldn't tell him, not now. "It's too much..." she whimpered, still shivering with sobs. "I... I need... oh I don't know! I'm so confused! I don't know how I even got here! I... I could be dreaming for all I know! I need... I need to sleep. If I wake and I'm still here..." she trailed off for she honestly didn't know what would happen then for she honestly thought this a dream, nothing more. "Just... tomorrow... I don't know. Tomorrow."

Aiden nodded starting to understand that this was overwhelming her. â??I understand Crista come back to bed with me and we will sleep till the morning together. And tomorrow we will figure this all out together.â? He slowly started to draw her back toward the bed wanting to put her back on a comfortable place to sleep. â??I promise you my love this isnâ??t a dream and you never have to worry again.â? He pulled the covers back to help her get into bed.

Crista hesitated a moment, looking to the space next to him in the bed, waiting for her. She bit her lip, clearly thinking about it before at last she moved forward to sit on the edge before she slipped under the covers. Laying there a moment before, rolling to her side and just snuggling up to his body. She did not say anything for quite some time before she whispered, "If this is a dream, I pray I never wake again...."

Aiden held her close kissing her hair and snuggling her tight against him. â??I promise this is not a dream.â? He held her gently his arms being careful of her back his hands gently rubbed over her sides and arms holding her close nuzzling her hair doing everything he could to let her know this was real. He held her like that finally falling asleep again but holding her close enough that he moving away would wake him no matter how deep asleep he was.

Crista slipped back to sleep quickly, still feeling like she's in a dream. Expecting to awaken back within her nightmare of a life. As the dawn rose, shining light into the room, it had been so long since light had touched Crista. As the sun shifted through the sky, and the rays eventually shined right into her eyes, it finally awakened her. "Mmm!" she groaned and shifted to bury her face into Aiden's chest to escape the light that hurt her eyes so very much.

It took a few moments longer then for her to truly wake up. Her body first as she rolled over to look to the window, before her eyes scanned the room, finishing at last at Aiden laying next to her still. In the light, there was no doubt to who he was. Memories of the night before returned next, including her painful revelation. She wanted to cry once more. He was so perfect. He was the love of her life. She had him, she had lost him, she got him back, she lost him once more, and this is the moent she had him.... but it hurt the most for she knew she was going to loss him. That time forever.

She just laid on her side, watching his face as he slept...

Her movement and the light from the window had Aiden stirring a little. He slowly opened his eyes looking back into hers and smiled. â??See not a dream you are really here.â? His hand gently reached out brushing over her cheek as he leaned forward and softly kissed her lips. his own mind had worried that it had been a dream but now that he woke to find it true he would never voice his doubt since she had enough of her own without adding his. â??Iâ??m sorry that it took me so long to find you Crista I havenâ??t hardly slept since you were kidnapped.â?

Crista sighed a little and rested her forehead against his, "How long was there Aiden? I don't know.... how did I get there? I hardly recall now. Time didn't seem to exsist there. It feels like I was there a year... was I?"

Aiden snuggled her close kissing her lips again. â??You were there just over three months my love. Three of the worst months of my life, and from what I hear yours too.â? He cuddled her close his hands rubbing her shoulders. â??I donâ??t know how you got there my love, I came back from a morning tea with my mother, who wanted to hear all about you, and found that you were gone. I donâ??t know how Heylel got into the castle and out with you. Iâ??m so sorry my love I should never have left you.â?

She shook her head a little bit, her brow wrinkled with thought as she tried to recall. "No... it wasn't that he came in... I recall now. Someone took me to him. I don't recall ever seeing them. But, one moment I was here, then I awoke inside a trunk, banging on it then, it was open, I rolled out and.... I was in his home..." If there was one thing they both wanted for certain, it was to piece together what had happened that ruined their lives.

Aiden cocked his head as she poked holes in his theory, if Heylel didnâ??t come and steal her then whoâ?¦ it hit him like a ton of bricks. There was only one person that hated Crista enough to do something like this to her. just the kidnapping was one thing but Aidenâ?? was shocked that his father would stoop to such methods as giving her to Heylel. The information that Heylel was another of his fatherâ??s bastards slipped into place. â??I so hope Iâ??m wrong Cristaâ?¦.I really doâ?¦â? he told her his suspicion of what had happened about his father taking her from his bed that night or having it done.

Crista's face went pale as he spoke of his suspicion, fear settling in her once again. "If it was him... Aiden what if he tries it again? He did it once, what if..." she shivered and hugged herself tight to him. She had no idea that the king was dead and now Aiden was the leader.

Aiden saw the fear in her eyes and he realized that she must have not heard anything but what Heylel had let her hear. â??Cristaâ?¦â? He kissed her deeply his hand brushing over her cheek. â??He canâ??t do it againâ?¦â? Aiden looked down sighing, â??he died shortly after you were kidnappedâ?¦â? Aiden shook his head slightly. â??It makes sense now though it hurts to suspect himâ?¦but it explains why he didnâ??t want me to search for you.â?

"The king is.... dead?" she questioned. If it was even possible... the color drained even more from her face in that moment. "If your father is... dead then, you... you are........" Crista pulled away and sat up. If there had ever been one last chance for them, it was now gone. A king would need an heir which she highly doubted she could give him. She sighed and leaned forward, resting her head in her hands. God how could she tell him. She didn't even know the full details of whatever it was that Heylel gave her. Someone had to know though. "Is there a doctor Aiden? I... I want to see one if... if I can..."

Aiden looked in fear at Crista as she pulled away not sure what was going through her mind. He sat up and gently placed his hand on her back. â??There is one he is the most skilled doctor in the kingdom, are you in pain my love?â?

She shook her head, "I don't know. I might be. I just..." she sighed and turned her eyes to look at him once again, the fear really showing in her eyes, "I just need to talk with him please....... alone. Could you get him for me?"
