Aiden was speechless for a moment before he suddenly laughed in joy and wrapped his arms around his beautiful sexy wife pulling her down and kissing her deeply. There was no doubt they were going to have a child and the years of waiting had finally been fulfilled. â??What did I always tell you my love? You werenâ??t there long enough for it to hurt you.â? He smiled and brushed his hand over her cheek looking into her eyes as he cried tears of joy with his wife.
 
"It did affect me you must admit..." she spoke conversationally with him. "For we have sex often enough that we should have multi-children by now." She placed her hand on her belly, "Now the worry is if the baby will be alright. We've been able to conceive but will it be hurt by that horrible concoction?" The worry was clear in her eyes.
 
Aiden smiled and kissed her again gently rolling her over onto her side and holding her close encasing her in the protection of his arms. â??We will have a healthy baby my love there is nothing that can stop that.â? He smiled and kissed her deeply rubbing her sides and holding her close.

Seven months passed and Aiden stood outside of their shared room pacing around franticly much to his motherâ??s amusement.

â??Aiden sit down, wearing the floor out because you were told you couldnâ??t be in there wonâ??t help anything.â?

Aiden looked at his mother and then sighed finally sitting down and then started drumming his fingers on the table. There was no use he was nervious it had been hours what was taking so long?
 
"I AM NEVER GOING TO FORIVE THAT BASTARD FOR THIS!!!" the queen could be heard screaming. There pretty much was not a place within the castle that her constant yelling about how the king was a bastard or how she was going to remove vital organs from his person when she had the chance. Things such as that.

Cristian came to Aiden and put his hand on his shoulder, forcing him to cross the room and take a sheet while Rebecca came forth and handed him a drink. Cristen patted him on the back, "Don't worry. I'm told most women often curse their husbands such as that when in labor." Of course Christan did not know personally. Unlike lucky Crista, Rebecca had been under Haylel's roof far to long to have escaped it's affects. But the newlyweds were still happy as they smiled and Rebecca moved into her husband's arms. They had already spoken of taking in a child from and orphanage in time. But right now the new Duke and his wife were content to be newlyweds.

"And this is only the start Aiden," his mother said, "Crista may still take hours to deliver the babe. You were a stubborn one and took well over a full days time to come into the world. I'm sure your child will be just as stubborn for BOTH it's parents are stubborn."

"Your mother has a fair point my king," Rebecca said with a light laugh before Crista's screaming came again...

"I'M GOING TO KILL HIM WHEN I GET MY HANDS ON HIM!!!"
 
Aiden winced at each and every scream from his bride. He knew she loved him but right now he was sure she would do what she said assuming he didnâ??t kill himself for putting her through this. He glared for a moment at Christian and his bride. It had been nearly four months since Crista had felt up to him holding her like that and the last time they had spoke it made them body feel a little more apart. They both missed being in the otherâ??s arms. He sighed and shook his head looking toward the door waiting for the time that he would be let in.

Hours would pass and Christian and Rebecca would be off working on keeping the kingdom running for Aiden and Crista while they were both so occupied. Finally after what seemed to him to be hours but really wasnâ??t that long the midwife came out with a bundle in her arms. She smiled at Aiden and bowing placed the bundle in his arms. â??Your son, your majesty.â?

Aiden couldnâ??t have been more happy at that moment he thank the midwife and asked after Crista happy to hear she was doing well. He asked that she tell Crista that he would be in soon but had to take care of some things first.

Aiden turned and walked out along the hallway. His mother soon joined him having heard that her first grandchild was born. She instantly took it from his arms and spent several moments walking along the hallway just gushing over it. Aiden could understand totally how she felt only he was feeling it more so his son would one day grow up ot be a great king without the negative influence of his grandfather to effect him.

Taking his son back he stepped out onto the balcony where below many of the kingdomâ??s people noble and common alike stood waiting for the announcement. Aiden smiled holding the child close he spoke loud enough for all to hear. â??I give you your crown prince, Darin!â?

The people cheered and all bowed the knee and swore loyalty. Aiden didnâ??t stay out long quickly returning to the bed chamber and since the door was open he walked in still holding Darin in his arms.
 
Crista lay proped up in the bed... holding a bundle of her own and that bundle was clearly a SECOND baby. Rebecca sat close at hand fused of the babe, commenting as Aiden walked in, "I'm a godmother two times over!"

As he entered, Crista looked up and smiled at him from across the room, weak from all her work though it was, "Suprise?" she said with a little laugh and she adjusted the figiting bundle in her arms, "Come meet you daughter, Iris, and let me spend some more time with my son."

His mother was overjoyed with excitement, "Twins! Oh heavens!"

Christen patted him lightly on the back to not disrupt the babe in his arms, "Our kingdom has a prince AND a princess."
 
Aiden just smiled slightly and moving slowly over to the bed sitting down on it next to his wife and after trading bundles with her brushed his hand over his daughterâ??s cheek. He couldnâ??t help but smile and kiss her forehead lightly before looking at Crista. â??You do wonderful work my love.â? He smiled and snuggled in close to his love and just laid there holding their children together.
 
She counted both babies fingers and toe a few times just to make sure they were all there before she gave them each a feeding, swapping babies with him like a little juggling act. After that though, she yawned. Upon seeing this, his mother came forth and took the babe from her arms to place in the cradle, then to him and took the second babe. "She needs to rest, as do the babes, and you have a kingdom to inform of your daughter." She placed the second babe in a cradle she had brought in. Kissing Crista on the forehead she whispered to her. "You've made this grandmother very proud today. Rest."

She yawned again and started to move to lay in the bed, "She's right... I can hardly keep my eyes open Aiden..."
 
He leaned over kissing her softly brushing her hair back from her face. â??Rest now Crista I will come back in a few hours to check on you.â? He kissed her lips lightly again and smiled at her before leaving to announce the birth of a second child. There was such a uproar about the children as to who should be the one to take the throne but it was clear enough to Aiden even though others didnâ??t see it that way. The son was born first so he should take the throne as the crown prince. Finally it was the kingâ??s word that ended the matter and made it clear to the scheming and power hungry nobles that they had no say in how the royal family did anything.

Hours later he returned to their chambers both children sleeping soundly as eh came in and leaned over kissing Crista softly.
 
Like waking sleeping beauty, Crista's eyes fluttered open and she smiled at him before smiling over at the babes, "This will probably be the only time they ever BOTH sleep at the same time..." she commented softly.
 
He laughed and smiled kissing her again and then gently slipped his arms under her and lifted her out of bed. â??You are right my love so let us take advantage of this moment to spend some time together.â? He carried her out onto the balcony and lightly setting her down on her feet he snuggled her close supporting her with his body as they stood there under the stars. â??I love you Crista more then I can every say.â?
 
She smiled, and kissed him, not saying the words back at once, "Thank you. You never gave up on me when I had given up on myself time and time again. I dare not think about where I would be right now if you have never come into my life..." she trailed of and turned her face to look back at the two cradles in their room then back to him and at last she whispered the words against his lips, "I love you."
 
He kissed her back deeply before turning them both out to look into the sky and over their kingdom. â??But I did come into your life my love and just like it should have been I fell in love with you and now here we are.â? He smiled and let his hands wander over her arms and sides softly. â??We have done so much together and now there is nothing in the world that will make us unhappy since we have each other.â? He turned her to face him again and as he leaned in to kiss her stars began to fall behind them framing their kiss as he held the love of his life close, the moment was perfect and he looked into her eyes just as they broke the kissâ?¦and Darin woke up and started crying for his mother. Their life as individuals and as husband and wife was over, their life as parents had just begun.
