Where's My Happy Ending? ((butterfly0408/Kolath))

He smiled brushing his thumb over her cheek as his hand stayed resting against her neck and cheek. â??Because none of them are you. I love you Crista and that hasnâ??t changed itâ??s the same as when I told you as Aiden the serving boy.â? He looked into her eyes his open and honest. â??I donâ??t love you because I think you are beautiful, which I do, I love you because of who you are behind that beauty.â? It was all he could do not to lean in and kiss her at this point.

She sighed a little, feeling odd. She didn't know how to put her feelings in words at first but at last, she knew what it was. "Can you still love me... even if I don't see myself the way you do?" She never would see herself like the way he did, but if he could accept that she couldn't... maybe, just maybe it could still be alright for them.

He nodded slowly thinking it over but finally looked her in the eyes and nodded more firmly. â??I can still love you if I have to fight with you over it ever moment of everyday just to keep you in my life.â? he stepped a little closer leaning his hands on each side of her but still leaving enough room to let her move away if she wanted. â??I accept that you donâ??t see yourself the way I do. All I ask is that you stop listening to the baroness because she is wrong.â?

Having him close once more, it was wonderful. She felt so good having him near her. It was if she was feeding off his positive air about everything, especially her. "I can do that," she whispered, nodding herself. Finally, an understanding between them. He could love her just as she was, low self esteem and all. And she... she could go on loving him as she always had. Raising her hand to his cheek now in return, gently brushing her fingers over his skin as her lips curled to a soft, slight smile. Now the only thing left was to tell him her own feelings. Where to start? She was not sure, "I'm... I'm not very good at saying how I feel..."

He smiled nuzzling into her hand on his cheek reading her feelings through that simple touch. He gently kissed the palm of her hand laughing softly. â??I know Crista and I think I know what you are trying to say if you donâ??t want to say it right now.â? His thumb brushed over her lips softly his eyes for a moment drifting down to her perfectly formed lips. â??Though I wonâ??t stop you if you want to say it anyway.â?

Crista wanted to tell him, but when she tried, the words would not surface. Her lips just parted and no sound came out. It was simple. Just three words. She had almost said them that day, why could she not say them now? At last, words finally came to her lips. Only two words, "Kiss me..." It was a start at least.

He brushed his hand along her cheek and down to her chin lifting it slightly as his other hand slipped around her waist pulling her slightly closer. â??I was just going to ask if I could.â? He leaned in gently brushing his lips against hers his eyes still looking into hers. His eyes then closed and he leaned in more pressing his lips to hers his hand on her chin gently slipping behind her neck the one around her waist helping support her as he poured his love into that kiss.

And she poured her love back into it. Even if she could not say it, at least her lips could show him. She prayed inside that he could feel it. Her arms rose up. Her hands each resting upon his shoulders as they held one another close. And as the kiss ended what felt like a glorious eternity later, she seemed to catch her breath and on the exhale, whispered out a meek, yet clear, "I love you..." to him.

He could feel her love and his arms tightened around her as he felt it. as the kiss broke he heard her whispered words and leaned in kissing her passionately again. His arms were tight around her as he kissed her and out of joy began to swing around on the balcony with her. finally he stopped ot look into her eyes his hands both coming up ot cup her face, tears rolling down his cheeks. â??I love you so much Crista.â?

When he picked her up like that and began to swing her, she was a bit caught off guard and had to throw her arms around his neck to hold on. Yet as he put her down and pulled back to whisper in reply, she took her hand and started to wipe at the tears on his face, a few of her own starting to rise to the surface, "Don't do that! You're gonna make me feel bad and now I'm gonna start crying and..." she started to laugh. It was the only thing to stop from crying.

He laughed softly still crying slowly as he leaned in kissing her lips one more time softly. â??I am crying because I am so happy lover nothing more. Donâ??t feel bad my dear.â? He held her close his arms around her waist just nuzzling into her hair softly loving having her close. â??Will you stay with me from now on Crista?â?

Crista looked a little dumbstruck, "Here? Stay here? In the palace? Me?!" She looked a little panicked by that thought, and had to close her eyes, taking a few deep breaths. "Ask me again in a little while Aiden. If things move to fast... I'll start to panic like I did before." It was not a no, but it was also not yet a yes. But it was NOT a no.

The sun was starting to set now off in the distance and the night was starting to come upon them. Dinner would be served in the main hall before long. "Is it... is it appropriate to wear this to dinner?" she asked him.

He nodded understanding knowing that he was pushing her hard to get where they both wanted to go but she wasnâ??t ready yet. His hand brushed along her cheek smiling at her. â??You look lovely for dinner Crista, I was going to just go as I am.â? He kissed her lips again. â??if you want to dress up for it I would love to see you in the noble dresses that you were born too. But you look just as good as you are now.â?

She shook her head a bit and a look of almost distaste crossed her face, "I don't think noble dresses are for me Aiden. I don't know if there ever will be a time when they are going to be right for me. Even when my father was alive, I worked on our land in clothing just like this. I've never had anything on different then this..." Every time she revealed more and more about herself to him, she wondered what he thought of her. What changed in his mind about her.

He smiled kissing her forehead. â??I understand my love and as I said you look just a beautiful in this as in any noble dress you could wear.â? He turned and taking her hand led her into the room again closing the balcony doors behind them. â??Shall we walk through the castle a little till dinner is ready? Or should we just sit here and talk?â?

He smiled and offered her his arm. About to walk to the door and head out to show her the palace he had his hand on the handle but then stopped. He realized just how people would be looking at him and Crista as they walked and not one would be a good look. He suddenly turned around and looked at her biting his lip, â??on second thoughtâ?¦it might not be best, people can be so stupid on their reactions and they arenâ??t used to seeing me walking the halls with a lady.â? He motioned to the chairs not having told her a lie but not the whole truth either.

Crista looked at him, confused really. He had just offered, then changed his mind? The words processed in her head. At first it seemed like she was just going to take his words for face value. But then, things sunk in. She was not a stupid person and even she realized the kind of looks she in her plain dress, walking on the arm of the prince, was going to get from wandering eyes. The look on her face read loud and clear that she understood the reason why, "Oh... I suppose you are right..." She didn't say anymore then that, just moved back to the table, sitting down again and reaching out for her tea cup. Only holding it in her hand, fingers toying with the handle a bit as if she was in though. Which she was.

Aiden came back over moving his chair to be closer to her leaving his tea not really interested in it right now in any case. He could see that she was deep in thought and so said nothing letting her think. He had his own thoughts to keep him occupied. His thoughts dwelt around her and how much he wanted to show her that there was a beautiful side of life, and not just the ugliness that she had been shown before. After a few moments his hand rested on hers and he smiled. â??A penny for your thoughts my love?â?

She sighed, setting the tea back down again. She could have just kept things to herself, but that had proven disastrous in the past. Perhaps she should just say it. "No one is going to accept me if you were to choice me Aiden. I can't change myself into the woman everyone will expect your to marry. And how can I walk around looking like, well... like this?" She looked down at her clothing.

He smiled shaking his head. â??I donâ??t want oyu to change if you did you wouldnâ??t be the woman I fell in love with. And as for the rest of the kingdom let them think what they want and do not bare them mind.â? He leaned close from behind her gently kissing her neck. â??You are just what I want no matter how you are dressed or what you do.â? His arms slipped around her waist smiling as he nuzzled against her.

She couldn't help but feel a twinge of excitement as his lips kissed her neck. Affection. REAL affection. A simple kiss, but it felt like so much more to her. Licking her lips, she turned herself to look to him. Reaching her hand for his cheek again, she stroked his skin gently, "May I ask you to kiss me again Aiden?"

He smiled and his hand came up to cover hers. He leaned in kissing her lips lightly smiling against them before pulling back to look into her eyes. â??When ever you wish it my love and with your permission.â? He leaned in close against his lips brushing feather light over hers, â??I will kiss you even if you do not ask for it.â? and saying that he kissed her again his hand slipping into her hair holding her close.

She didn't know what come over her with his kiss of her lips. A feeling in them, like nothing she had ever felt before that made her want to react, but before she knew it, she was pressing her lips more firmly against his and moving. She turned herself until she was actually kneeling on her sit, facing him, wrapping her arms around his neck as they continued to kiss, the back of the chair squeezed between them.

His arms reacted too slipping them around her waist leaning in closer so they were both pressed close to each other. He growled softly into the kiss no knowing what was coming over him. there was something that needed to be close to her something that needed to never let her go. His hand brushed over her back and one slipped into her hair as he gently pushed his tongue against her lips asking for entrance into her mouth.
