Jack looked to Cortia, then to Desira and finally over to Lea when she mentioned that Cortia could stand. It had been fun at first, exciting even to see just how much control the Bard could take over the Priest, but enough was enough. Jack needed Cortia fully ready and aware should something happen. He knew that Lea wouldn't be much good in a fight, well, he assumed as much. And the Bard, well, unless she could fuck the enemy to death, he assumed she wouldn't be of much use too. So when Desira moved to help Cortia, so did Jack. "Release your hold over her, Desira. You've had your fun. Now it's over." Jack said sternly at the Bard. His tone wasn't threatening, not one bit, but it was a tone of a man who was ready to carry his words through.
Regardless, he assisted Cortia as best he could and as best she would allow. Be it with standing, with walking or just being a physical support for her to use to regain her core and balance. Lowering his voice he whispered to the Priest, "Come, we're almost out of here." granted he didn't know if it was true or not, but he said so anyway.
Moving past her, once she seemed ready and able to handle herself again, Jack followed closely behind Lea. Sure, she had near perfect if not perfect assets for him to look at, the whole scene and situation between the Bard and the Priest had, for a lack of a better word, sobered him up. He enjoyed the view, very much so, but at this point, he wanted to just be rid of these halls. "See anything, Lea?" he asked, that was until Desira stormed past the group, something that made Jack curse under his breath, "God dammit, always. All fucking ways." Though being a team player, Jack followed. He couldn't provide much to the group aside from security and safety. He had little to no knowledge with disarming traps or even finding them in the first place. So instead of helping with that, he had to babysit the entire group, at least, from physical dangers.
When he laid his eyes on Curiosity in that pit his heart sunk. It sure was a ways down. And sure, he hadn't known her for long, but she was a part of the group and he had failed to protect her, his one job. Reaching down, and with the aid of Desira's sex-flute magic, aided by the fact that Jack was already strong as an ox to begin with, which now only made him strong as a few oxes, he reached down for Curiosity's hands "Here, grab my hands. We'll get you out!" Jack called out to her. It was a struggle, she was a ways down and he had to learn out over the edge to reach her, however eventually and only just, they managed to clasp hands and Jack, using all of the strength, but natural and magically, began to pull her out. It wasn't easy, far from it but slowly, very much so, the Tiefling was pulled from the gooey pit.
It had strained him, exhausted him. That goo did not want to let go of it's prey, however it had. And as he sat up again, resting his back against the wall to catch his breath he looked to Curiosity and smiled "Perhaps you should return to the city, have someone take a look at you. Make sure that goo didn't do anything bad. Don't worry, we'll split any loot we find with you." This was only the first room of many before they reached the tower and Jack needed the group to be 100% ready, he had no magical know-how, at least not enough to know if that goo had any mind altering affects, though judging from the collar Cortia had on, it wouldn't surprise him one bit.
