Difficult and uncommon kinks to find partners for

Corsets. Are. Not. Worn. Over. Clothing. No. Never ever. Corsets are very distinctly underwear.
I mean, if we are talking strictly utilitarian, then yeah. But if we delve into fashion, then corsets have been/are used in all sorts of ways just for the aesthetic and don't actually function as they were initially intended. This especially if the setting is modern. But if the depiction is from a period piece... well, then yeah. It would definitely help to google that shit to get a gist of what it's all about.

I mean, one should generally research all kinds of stuff before you decide to showcase them in an RP. Whether it be items, ailments, organizations, or other concepts that you wish to properly depict.

To clarify- I meant corsets as support garments and for waist reduction are worn under. True corsets. Fashion corsets, which are for solely aesthetic reasons, are worn over, but they aren't shaped the same, not do they have the same feel and function. Fashion corsets are more cylindrical in shape, do not have steel bones or thick laces, rather than hourglass-shaped with flat and spiral steel boning and thick laces.

As for the second point? Abso-damned-lutely. Research has been a huge component of my writing for well over 15 of the 20 years I've been doing it seriously, and it's refreshing when people take the time and effort to know what they're talking about.

...it's refreshing when people take the time and effort to know what they're talking about.
I've gone as far as researching chickens to make a cockatrice pet/companion to a Goblin character of mine. lmao
My hubby looked over at my computer screen one night to see a whole buncha rooster and chicken pics and tabs on my laptop.
I believe his exact words were, "Honey, what the hell are you looking up now?"

Also, I'm a former tightlacer, and oftentimes people see corsetry in a negative light, seeing it as harmful, uncomfortable, or restrictive or even worse, a mark of oppression. I do occasionally get people who indulge me in writing corseted women, but I have to explain everything, or grimace because it's done wrong.

If I could find people willing to write games involving some of my more niche interests I wouldn't complain about having to explain it. That said I can respect someone just not knowing but it is frustrating when people who don't know are essentially making things up as they go along.

Interesting concept. I also like variations of female voyeurism although in my case the women are in control rather than forced. The idea for example of two female dommes playing chess and each time one loses a piece it means their sub has to do something with or to the others sub or just be punished in some way.

Or a group of women playing strip poker except they aren't the ones that strip it is their sub boyfriend/husband.

This looks fun to chat about!

Here are a few I have quite a bit of an issue finding partners for:

1. Adultery - Keep in mind, I do enjoy playing in a lot of group settings (more than 2 people involved), so I'm not terribly surprised at this one. I know people are wary about offending others and that's completely understandable. I don't blame anyone for being respectful of another partners feelings. This however, to me, is a major kink, I love it, the characters sneaking around, the betrayal, the emotional upheaval that both keeping a lascivious secret and losing one can cause. For me, I'm perfectly happy both ways, for it to be hidden completely or for it to be something eventually brought into the light. I'm a player that values consequences after all, especially as someone that often steps into the role of a less than morally respectable character. For me, I like to be in the role of the other party, the temptation, the home wrecker, be it as playing a female character or a male. So many interesting situations this one can lead to, danger of pregnancy, a fall from status/grace, even murder and mayhem. It's especially fun to me in the case of aristocratic types of family.

2. A Serious Incest Story - I like any type really, though twins are a special favorite and I've always wanted to try a mother/daughter story. Again, I like playing this type of thing in a group setting, so no horrid surprise here either that it's tough to snap someone up to do. Usually, when I start a pair with someone like this, they end up just kind of running off into the wind after a while, or getting
embarrassed when someone else's character inevitably finds out. I do enjoy drama in my IC worlds, so it's always a possibility dirty secrets can escape into public. I heavily like the type of pair that know they have to keep it to themselves, but have a hard time with that when it comes to jealousy or just flat out being unable to keep their hands off each other. Really I've had so many ideas for story on this kink that just fell apart into dust when someone disappeared. Seems like everyone is interested till they realize how it'll affect their character in the eyes of others.

3. A Partner in Devilry - It's probably an odd choice to put here, but I have no luck finding people to pair my characters with that will match their wickedness, I know how bad my own can be and often times they revel in it so one will see it eventually. I want a look up close at how bad someone else can be, the depths of another's dark side. I want to see the ruthless play off my ruthless, the viciousness between two psychopath's with a twisted connection feeding into each other. Granted, I don't mind having my character corrupt another into it, oh that's one of my favorites too, but most often I find people who don't wanna play the bad because they are too sensitive, and that's alright, no criticism from me, but I want to find someone that can do it, be mean to other characters as a partner of my own. For a good example, if I'm playing one half of a demonic duo of succubi, I'd love to see the other side playing evil as well instead of just the half-way mark where no one can truly judge them because they never truly do anything besides stay in the grey area.

4. A Yandere - I have never met someone that can play this convincingly or effectively and believe me I've tried looking. I want my character to be the object of that obsession, especially in a group rp setting. Finding someone who can be cruel, who would kill, who would sabotage others for the sake of some deliciously depraved hang up on one person is definitely one of my kinds of psychologically fucked. Now, believe me, my characters are not submissive, in the slightest, so they can't simply be controlled, in fact they'd probably use the yandere as a weapon. There is plenty to play with here, lots of possibilities and much like incest, what I wrote above, I always have a lot of ideas for it, however, most people just don't want to have their characters be vicious enough it seems, or they run off after a while which is a bit disheartening admittedly.

5. Gore/Death/Obscenity - I like gory stories. I like horror stories. I like smut. I enjoy heavy description. If my character is torturing someone, it's going to be torture. If my character is ripping someone apart, well you get the point, I'll spare the details but suitably graphic. This goes for sexual situations as well, I like all the details. I have zero issue with it being poetic, in fact I rather enjoy that, clever speaking, though I also enjoy outright raunchy too. This is more of a "What I would like to meet," in the /way/ someone writes. I also very much like religious depravity, which oddly enough is something I also have a good hard time finding people to play seriously. Most shots at it turn into one, two or three scenes after which someone kind of just kerplops away. Death is another matter, I'm not really talking about something that has to be permanent, however definitely something with consequences. There are a lot of ways to bring a character back, cybernetically reanimated corpse for one, or necromancy, or vampirism, etc. I guess you could say the "Death," aspect for me, is more about creating a perversion and watching it cause havoc both in its own new life and others. Death is still a part of that I suppose, they have to die first. I don't find many who are willing to kill their character and have it raised as a flesh eating ghoul type for example.

6. Bloodplay - I put this in a whole separate category from gore because I feel it's much more artistic. Bloodplay to me is less ham fisted than gore. It's more ritual than simple evisceration, don't get me wrong, gore is on my list too, but I adore blood play for the intricacies, like Bathory immersing in the vital fluids of her maids to keep young, or a sorceress carving runes into another persons flesh with finely sharp knives. Yes, there's also drinking of it, I'm very much an old school VtM fan after all. There's a ton of symbolism that can be played with involving this and I so rarely get to write a good scene involving it as a good many of the people I meet just don't seem to want to dip into that type of area. Again, no judgement, people like what they like, but I most certainly would love to find those willing to engage in this sort of scene.

Bah, I've got about 10 or 15 more I could put on this list and it will get far too long if I do. Some of my kinks are fairly extreme, however, none of them are a real must to play with me. I can do more normal things too. Anyways, just a few I've had a good bit of trouble finding that I'd like to play with both in one on one and multi-person types of rp.

I'm hesitant to call this a kink, but it seems fairly difficult to find anyone that writes Asian male characters. Unless it's MxM and/or kpop related, which I'm not usually interested in. I guess the more accurate thing to say is that I rarely find them attached to plots and themes I'm interested in.

It's tough getting a chance to play a black/brown man in a role without being a stereotype (thug, gang member, bully), and the only character trait the plot includes revolves around his dick. I can imagine the pool of Asian men in stories is even smaller.

It's the other way around, too. A ton of faceclaims with Caucasian women, and so few with black and brown skin from around the world. Sexiness comes in every color. Diverse Interracial scenes, especially ones where you're playing a person and not just doing a porn skit, are hard as fuck to find.

Gonna throw in ball fondling. I do NOT see a lot of people into playing with balls. Really underestimated kink.

I can attest to wanting to play with a character that isn't Caucasian. It's Latin men for me and it's so hard to explain it's not a race thing. Or maybe it is? I just - I'm an audiophile, and Spanish phrases/accents do a lot for me. Other accents do as well of course. I don't know.

It's difficult to bring up race, I think, because of how backlashy some people can be about it. That's why I always hesitate to play female characters that aren't white. I'm white, it's what I know best, and what if I do something cringey playing another race? What if I do something offensive?

...and agreed with the balls thing. For me personally, while I do like doing it, I do it rarely because there's not a lot of way to describe the anatomy in question. There are no good names for 'em. Just... balls.

Edit: Here's one a little more on topic: redemption. It's not a kink per say, but everyone wants to play the corruption angle. Thanks, no thanks. I want to save some souls, bring light to those lost in the dark.

For me, it's often trying to find partners for minor characters and/or shows that are just old (like 20-30 years ago). I know that I've got story ideas that'll never find partners for, and in some cases I've resorted to solo writing to satisfy the craving.

As for faceclaims, I tend to agree with everyone else. I suspect (but have no evidence) that it's a combination of lack of saturation (as someone suggested) but also that many writers tend to faceclaim the race that they are. It's much easier to write about someone who has a similar cultural background than someone from the other side of the world.

I think if you want non white characters you just have to do it. I noted on one of the threads that the USA seems to be the default setting for RP's even if neither of the RP'ers are American. In some ways that makes sense as due to TV and films the USA can be common denominator but my point is that it is seldom challenged. I will often tell my partner that I'm not American so they understand that I might not get the whole college system or whatever cultural intricacy.

Personally, I like twists on characters and the usual stereotypes and norms. So if someone wanted to play a black or whatever character that wouldn't be an issue for me and if it was say a black male I think it would be interesting to play against a black cuckold who shatters the BBC myth of the black male etc rather than usual hung like a horse black guy who fucks the white guilt ridden liberal college chick.

Sometimes their race is just their race as well, it doesn't have to be an integral part of who they are. I have played against a black female character born in England who moved to Australia and develops a crush on their white Australian professor.

Anyway, my point is you just have to put it out there that for "X" RP you will be playing a character of whatever race, state the reason why if it is relevant to the story or what you want to explore or just leave it as is, YC is a race other than white.

You're probably not going to get a lot of hits for any one specifically requested thing that is a stereotype breaker because it's niche. I know I don't get millions when I make requests, haven't done it on here yet, but have in many other places, either because of my characters, but yeah I can totally agree with just putting it out there. You never know if you don't try. And to me, the best way to do that is drop it in a public forum where everyone can see it. It's how my monsters get their hits, I mean same situation really just different kinks, not everyone likes to play with vicious little shits but when I put them on display I often garner at least some discussion with a person or two and if I don't get rp well so what at least I tried, I'll try again later.

I would advise, if one is looking for something in particular, make ones own character for it first, like give others some intellectual meat to chew on. More detail in an add tends to grab more attention at least in my experience. Like don't just go, "I want this (ideas) and can play any of these pairings (list) for it," that's fine for in general, more mainstream things of course but if someone is seeking something specifically then it's a good strategy to offer something specifically. It doesn't necessarily have to be a fully fleshed out, nine page thesis on a toon, just a paragraph or two on their personality or so. I would leave looks in this case up to the partner but at the same time have a few ideas as well. I hope I made sense with that.

As for playing characters of other nationalities, oh I love doing that. I play African/African American, I play Spanish, I play Asian as well. I find it absolutely fun, but often there aren't a lot of people that jump on them or they get asked to play roles that would never fit them, which is a little comical at points, but yes inevitably they end up being shunted to the side in favor of more traditional things because one gets bored of not finding anything. You could always try asking whatever partner if they have any ideas for say, more ethnic types. I think a lot of people are a bit shy to do that sadly for whatever reason.

Yeah, I think it's also an issue with me not wanting to ask because it sounds a bit weird, especially considering race isn't important to the plot 90% of the time. It's basically just an aesthetic preference for the most part. Kinda the same reason the majority of my characters are black or have some African ancestry by default, with East/Southeast Asian being a close second. Unless it's set in a specific time period or country, it'll rarely be brought up outside of physical descriptions/references. It's definitely a niche in some ERP circles where some people don't really know what to do with a character that just happens to be a certain race without heavy-handed raceplay. The word raceplay is bringing up a few random memories, but I won't go on a tangent this time.

Another thing that's hard to find is a young man of the cloth that scratches that particular Fleabag-esque itch. I've only seen the devoted yet easily tempted type looking for MxM pairings, but I haven't played a male character in years and don't want to embarrass myself.

@Caligula When I discuss character descriptions with a partner, I always ask what they would like my character to look like. If the story is good and everything is in place and my partner wanted MC to be a certain race, it wouldn't bother me, especially if I am still going to play that character in a way that suits me. I think some people get squeamish because of the whole cultural appropriation thing. I recall years back there were debates about males playing female characters and vice versa. In my personal opinion, some people take all of this far too seriously. I have played Female characters before and I like to avoid cliches and stereotypes/caricatures as I do with my male characters. It would be the same if I played a character of a different race to myself.

A young man of the cloth as per The Thorn Birds?

If you've watched Resident alien - what they did with the little girl? It is everything I try not to do.

A young man of the cloth as per The Thorn Birds?
Never heard of it until now, but I think I know what I'm watching tonight

@SoleAccord I completely missed that ball fondling comment. It's something I try to incorporate but frequently run into the issue of wording it. With a penis, I can name individual parts to avoid some of the more cringe names for it, but with balls, all I can think of is testicles and sack, which are both...yeah

I'd much rather you keep it simple instead of trying too hard to find words synonymous with balls. Simple is better in my opinion. Don't think anyone will lose their mind if you just call balls "balls", you know?

That's a problem I have in general. Most people like stories with the usual character types, usual plots etc. I like twists and reversing character roles. I like the idea of the stripper being a younger man and the client being an older woman, or the hottie being a man and the woman being the one who finds herself scoring him for whatever reason. The Adonis looking guy who shuns attention because he has a micro penis etc.

Or the cuckold is a black man and his wife has a thing for white guys. I have heaps of ideas but that is the kind of thing I like exploring, twists rather than the usual roles in the usual stories.

Balls is the definite lesser evil here which is why I always end up using it every time I've attempted to find a way around mentioning them directly. There's no sophisticated way to do it unless maybe I get real fancy like old-timey literature, but I don't have the range for all that lol
